Theyre throwing the word "hippie" around like "terrorists"! I was born in 70 and grew up around hippies. The ones I knew were the sterotype..long hair, groovey clothes and pot smoking. They hated the Viet Nam war, either because they had been there and were traumatized or the protested the war from college. My dad was an extremely intelligent man and was invited into a PhD program ithput having his Masters. Anyway (at least according to my parents) my dad got out of the draft because they wanted to make sure the intelligent Americans were kept alive , so PhD students werent drafted. I dont know if thats true or not lol but tge hippies i knew were cool intellectuals
