A love story set in the near future where single people, according to the rules of The City, are arrested and transferred to The Hotel. There they are obliged to find a matching mate in 45 days. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal of their choosing and released into The Woods. A desperate Man escapes from The Hotel to The Woods where The Loners live and falls in love, although it is against their rules.

Every one of Yorgos Lanthimos films are masterpieces! He reminds me of Kubrik and Greenaway in several ways, but has his very own voice, and vision for story telling, and a great sense of humor! ❤❤❤

@@tc07client5 movie is well made but it's an acquired taste, I say. Sadly, I left it in the middle...
I get the philosophial ending, but i think this ending would fit better:
He was going to try to poke his eyes in the bathroom, but he couldn't, he came back to her and said: "I couldn't do it, but we can still be compatible, because I'll be your eyes" then the scene scene changes, and they appeared with their backs on a cliff in front of the sea, with him telling her what he was seeing, then the screen goes all black, but he continued to explain other landscapes, as if we were now in her perspective and just listening to him explain what he saw.
In society we don't have do be compatible to be in love.

Well, this is just genius…and possibly the future of millennial romance…made it a trilogy with IDIOCRACY and TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE and laughed till I cried (and cried)…
