There is only one other ability left to get after the Double Jump and that is Isma's Tear which will allow you to swim in acid. Expect to see the next tutorial out sometime this weekend. After around 15 tries, I've finally beat the boss! I've gathered some tips for you guys along the way. 1. On your way there, you can get past a lot of the Mawleks (the things that spit orange stuff) pretty easily with the crystal heart. 2. In the Broken Vessel fight, the boss raises its head before it dashes at you. Use this to your advantage. (Additional tip: pretty much all of the bosses in Hollow Knight have a visual cue before they attack.) 3. When the boss lands and shoots out 4 of those orange things, rather than running away you should get closer to him. Those things cover a pretty large area and you can get several hits in if you stay close. 4. This is a small detail but really helpful. When the boss does the thing where it spits out lots and lots of orange stuff, like so much, he never actually stands in the center of the arena. He is always slightly to the left or right. With this knowledge, you can stay to the opposite side of the boss and you will never get hit. (Well I've never gotten hit when I stay at the opposite side, so I'm assuming that it is not possible to get hit.) If you do this, you can get around 3-4 heals in. SUPER helpful. Thanks to Relyea for making this video! The Monarch Wings are amazing :) Hope I helped someone today.

Here is one tip that will make the fight easier=when he does the attack where he spawns alot of infected balls,hit him untill he gets tired,don't worry about your mask,you can heal them when he's tired.

You can get to that area where cornifer is in the fog canyon from the other side... 1. Have ismas tear 2. Start at leg eater in fungal wastes 3. Go left and into the acid, next room 4. Keep going up and left until you find cornifer. No 2x Jump needed but it will be hard

Still, I keep finding myself at complete dead ends where I have a new ability that unlocks a ton of places to go, but I'm always spending hours going the wrong ones to actually progress. You dont actually need crystal heart tho it is very helpful, over that spike pit if you have mantis claw and dash you can pogo and grab the wall to get up. also this guide was very helpful so thanks alot!
from what I remember you don't need the crystal heart to get across the large spike room since you can always spike pogo across the room. The heart just makes it quicker

I know this video is old but for anyone who is having difficulty, go defeat Dung Defender first get get the defenders crest charm to deal with little orange floaters and you can spam attacks when he is doing his barrage attack

got started with the game recently and its been going well! beat broken vessel after my 10th attempt! it was a lil hard but nothing I couldn't deal with after I figured out the patterns \o/ thanks a lot for the guide!
For any stuck at around the 1:32 mark , you can sword hop all the way to the end and die. Sword hop again and lure your shade and sword hop off your shade to the platform. You can also go back up the path of nails, which is much easier.
Damn past me , that was a really good tip. I am glad I left it for myself because I jumped down without having the crystal heart ability again. My memory must be going because I already forgot way too much about this game. Hopefully , I'll see me again in about another 6 more month. Later me.
@@RelyeaGaming I had nearly all the spells charms so i used them and the first attempt with spells was a win, then i always used spells on bosses but i had to get rid of 1 charm for compass (it was my first playthrough)

To anyone having trouble with the broken vessel all you have to do is use the first nail art (the spinning one I forget what it's called) and spam x it's very easy to kill him using this
No problem at all my backside 🤬 I swear he’s done 12 phases so far and still not died, also, I lost 8000 geo being knocked down the spike hole on my way to pick my shadow up 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
thanks this guide really help,i was stuck and didnt know what to do or where to go but i judt have to say it,i hate the broken vessel,and tips to anyone still having trouble,when he jumps and dashes above you swipe up when he crosses over you to get and extra hit in and when he shakes his head if the farthest one doesnt go near the edge of the arena go over there and heal real quick and last of all sometimes when he is done shaking his head hit him and he might stagger and give you time to heal twice if you are quick,i spend a solid 25 to 30 minutes trying to beat him so i hope these tips helped
This boss fight has gone from utter rage to tears, still currently trying to defeat it Most I’ve ever raged at a game Edit: I went out, upgraded my nail and got the quick focus ability The boss fight was pretty easy after that, got it 2nd try
Another good tip - before attempting the fight, open a savegame editor and ramp up your nail damage to 999. While you are there, increase your health points to 50 masks. If you are up for a challenge, give yourself 10,000 geo to make the game go quicker. The tactic, then, is just to oneshot the boss with your nail and you win!
Hey man. Great video. Question: I’m right in front of the Memorial for the Hollow Knight at the City of Tears. There is a door closed with no switch that I think it’s blocking from the King’s Station. Is there anything I need to have so the door won’t be closed? I have the Crystal Heart and the Mantis Claw already. Thank you.
You need to go one or two screens to the left and find a way into the royal waterways using a simple key. Bring the lumifly lantern bought from Lt in dirtmouth for 1800 geo. Make your way through the royal waterways to the right (generally speaking) and come out on the other side of the door.
Relyea you are awesome. I thought of doing that but I guess I got lazy. I love how this game encourages exploration. I wish though there were more clues as to where to go next sometimes.

From the fountain go one screen to the left. There is a sewer that is locked and requires a simple key to get in. You can buy both a simple key and a lantern from sly in dirtmouth. With the lantern go into the sewer and you will eventually come up on the other side of the locked door
I died many times to this guy until going back and grabbing the pale ore in ancient basin, upgrading my nail (after struggling to get out of ancient basin a couple of times) then killing the soul warrior blocking the way to shade soul, and getting shade soul. After that I headed back to the ancient basin and killed the broken vessel second try upon my return. I learned that you have to level up a bit more (side note: I got this game for Christmas and your guides have been helping me a lot with where I should go next in this game)

By live containers do you mean the green grubs? If so I highly suggest looking up the Hollow Knight interactive map. I haven’t found em al yet

got started with the game recently and its been going well!
beat broken vessel after my 10th attempt! it was a lil hard but nothing I couldn't deal with after I figured out the patterns \o/

Use the defenders crest for the boss it instantly kills the flying things so you can just focus on the boss

Wait a second, all I needed to do was suicide jump just to find the basin? That was easy.

For any stuck at around the 1:32 mark , you can sword hop all the way to the end and die. Sword hop again and lure your shade and sword hop off your shade to the platform. You can also go back up the path of nails, which is much easier.
Damn past me , that was a really good tip. I am glad I left it for myself because I jumped down without having the crystal heart ability again. My memory must be going because I already forgot way too much about this game. Hopefully , I'll see me again in about another 6 more month. Later me.

@@RelyeaGaming I had nearly all the spells charms so i used them and the first attempt with spells was a win, then i always used spells on bosses but i had to get rid of 1 charm for compass (it was my first playthrough)
Good news: I got the monarch wings
Bad news: I died twice and lost my geo :’)

To anyone having trouble with the broken vessel all you have to do is use the first nail art (the spinning one I forget what it's called) and spam x it's very easy to kill him using this

thanks this guide really help,i was stuck and didnt know what to do or where to go but i judt have to say it,i hate the broken vessel,and tips to anyone still having trouble,when he jumps and dashes above you swipe up when he crosses over you to get and extra hit in and when he shakes his head if the farthest one doesnt go near the edge of the arena go over there and heal real quick and last of all sometimes when he is done shaking his head hit him and he might stagger and give you time to heal twice if you are quick,i spend a solid 25 to 30 minutes trying to beat him so i hope these tips helped

Did you upgrade your nail once or twice? I've got mine upgraded twice, and this is my next boss. Just seeing if twice is enough!😊
Another good tip - before attempting the fight, open a savegame editor and ramp up your nail damage to 999. While you are there, increase your health points to 50 masks. If you are up for a challenge, give yourself 10,000 geo to make the game go quicker.
The tactic, then, is just to oneshot the boss with your nail and you win!

Question: I’m right in front of the Memorial for the Hollow Knight at the City of Tears. There is a door closed with no switch that I think it’s blocking from the King’s Station. Is there anything I need to have so the door won’t be closed?

You need to go one or two screens to the left and find a way into the royal waterways using a simple key.
Bring the lumifly lantern bought from Lt in dirtmouth for 1800 geo.
Make your way through the royal waterways to the right (generally speaking) and come out on the other side of the door.

When he does that big attack I stay 1 inch away from him and spam his with my nail(works really well with dream shield)

Do you need the lantern for this area??? Already got the crystal Hart, but I don't want to make the whole trip there and fail to get the double jump if I still don't have the lantern. Anyway, great videos, they are very helpful.
I am 99% sure you don’t need the lantern. But if you are going for the double jump you should save up for it

How do you get to kings station
It’s at the city of tears off to the right a little ways past the fountain
Relyea how do you get passed the fountain the door is locked
From the fountain go one screen to the left. There is a sewer that is locked and requires a simple key to get in. You can buy both a simple key and a lantern from sly in dirtmouth. With the lantern go into the sewer and you will eventually come up on the other side of the locked door

This guy is way too hard for this part of the game
I died many times to this guy until going back and grabbing the pale ore in ancient basin, upgrading my nail (after struggling to get out of ancient basin a couple of times) then killing the soul warrior blocking the way to shade soul, and getting shade soul. After that I headed back to the ancient basin and killed the broken vessel second try upon my return. I learned that you have to level up a bit more (side note: I got this game for Christmas and your guides have been helping me a lot with where I should go next in this game)
I look up something for hollow night and always the first video to come up is his, all of his vids are so helpful and this is my top recommendations for hollow night
Hollow knight is the only game I had to watch TH-cam videos for tips Probably because I didn't know what it was about and I suck at it you are a really good teacher or help
