    Glad you got the carbs cleaned out Simon. I figured i had better comment while here. Last week it took me a cpl sit downs to watch and finish.
    I wont buy the rec fuel, atleast $2 more per gallon. I started running a fuel additive about 7 years ago called startron. Zero issues thus far.
    Weather here has been unseasonably warm. 65° today. Rain coming in tonight and temps gradually falling each day till we get into the 30°s for the highs next week.
    I made out the best i possibly could on my metal recycle and the wife and i had a great trip and visit with Stan Zuray from alaska. Oh and we did have that nice italian dinner aswell.
    Take care my friend and look forward to the next one. Stay safe and keep warm. Easy on the back friend. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

      So please you got a good weigh in and had a great trip. I am sure your wife appreciated you taking the time off my friend. We don't have any special fuel and I have old crusting cans and so I should add a carb clean every few years I guess. Have a great week and thank you.

    Howdy Simon- once again you have been successful with your endeavor to fix something as usual. Many years ago I was involved in some racing on the oval track. I wish I had the money I spent now lol. Anyway, that’s in the past. Take care and stay safe. God bless

    In northern Michigan most gas stations have recreation fuel, it's pure gasoline. It costs allot more but worth it, all our snowmobiles are fuel injected but my utility is carbed, Arctic Cat Bear Cat, I mostly use it for ice fishing. Also I put fuel stabilizer in the tanks in the spring. I enjoy your channel, take care!

    Yessir a snowmobile can quickly get you a long way from the heater. My survivalist instinct tells me it would be prudent to bring along a small survival kit when travelling alone in the artic.

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your right Matthew and in that large box we can put much survival equipment and when we go further we also take the sled or sleds, I have 3 that can be towed at once plus the log sled if I need to.

    That's the trouble in Sweden today when they add so much crap to the petrol. At least you got carbs and not fuel Injection so it's pretty easy to clean it. I always use 98 in my snowmobile and it seems to work well.

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Excellent point but not just in Sweden it is watered down with all manner of crap in so many countries now.

    • @moimayamahaetmesnounours
      @moimayamahaetmesnounours 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In France we have ”sans plomb” 95 and ”sans plomb” 98, well, it's best to avoid 95, which sometimes contains 10% of ethanol, called ”SP95-E10” , so the best for engines is SP98 ...

    Carburetors and 2 cycle engines can be finicky. Most riders I know clean carbs every year prior to the riding season. Standard practice. I also know a snowmobile mechanic who recommends replacing the crank seal on the clutch side annually. More heat to the engine on the clutch side thus more likely to fail. As you know, Simon, an air draw would cause a lean fuel/air condition resulting in engine failure. I suppose this is more applicable to those who ride many miles and long distances.

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Always the case with distance, the further you travel and the colder it is the risk increases and therefore the maintenance should also increase. Thanks Matthew have a great day.

    That did the trick.. cleaning the carburettors👍 I'm sure the Viking will serve you well, they are pretty reliable. But don't you find it a bit on the heavier side? With a wet weight exceeding 390 kgs, and a bit front heavy with that 3 cyl engine.. I had a 2003 Polaris SKS 800 some years ago.. not a wide track, but an agile and strong snow machine. Working in the forest cutting wood I used to borrow my neighbours Polaris WideTrak 500, an amazing machine to drag out heavy loads with. All the best buddy, stay safe out there🙂

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Like a Said I have never has to do them before so we should be good now. As for the weight it is as about as heavy as they get. It is a monster of a machine to break trails in and if I had a smaller one I would never ride this on new snow-ever. However; when it comes to power and strength and wide track it is perfect for what I need, it has never fails to haul any load back to the yard. It has another trick, it revs to over 8000rpm and once on the river does over 90mph with a fat bloke on it. Not so good at slow speed breaking trails in the forest though. Thank you and take care.

    Simon what a fun informative vlog! And the glorious scenery! Winter sure has arrived in Swedish Lapland! How long between carburettor cleans or would it be a one off? Now Kasper needs a basket behind you for rides😊😊😊. Love the snowmobile’s home….I think that’s the first time I’ve seen it.
    Can’t wait to see more. Have a wonderful upcoming weekend to you all. ❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪

      Hi Anne, I hope you are all well. To be honest looking at the jets it could have been done earlier and given the unstable nature of out fuel today and the fact I fill it from can maybe I will routinely clean every 3 years now. There is so much footage of the snowmobile shed it is just always shut when I am filming in the summer because it is for the snowmobile. It was the first building Sarah and I built in the yard and it is on a huge raft designed to be towed because I did not know where to put it. We pulled it out there the day we finished it which was the day before my hernia operation and has been there ever since. I do have several trailers Kasper could ride in but he prefers to be on the seat with me and that happened last winter for the first time, he is getting older and I think if prefers to ride now and run around when we arrive. He used to just run behind. Have a great week and take care.
