While I get it, the CoD community/playerbase hardly have any backbone and almost never stay headstrong against Activision's bullshit, XDefiant dying is more because Ubisoft is a fucking terrible company, with terrible management, terrible expenses, terrible studios, terrible games.
XDefiant might've been good, but because it didn't make a million billion goriallian dollars like Ubisoft wanted, which yes is horribly unrealistic, they deemed it not worth sticking with, which is the exact opposite of what a live service game is supposed to be: keep updating it lol.

As a Zombies player I personally like the omnimovement, it does add a nice twist to movement. Where my problem lies is with the aim walking speed/strafe speed, they decided to speed this up too, and as a player that always disliked the stalker perk or adjustable stock attachment it just feels too much. I personally feel that if we had the omnimovement and the strafe speed of cold war or MW3 it would feel much better.

No matter how I much I tried to adjust to it, the omni-movement always felt clunky and not fun to deal with. Hell, I would rather be able to turn it off entirely, because I had times when my character would do something I didn't want them to do and get me killed as a result.
I went back to MW3, and if omni-movement stays in the franchise going forward, I'll be staying on MW3. It felt like the perfect middle-ground of not too campy but not too chaotic.

  • @TheOutsider-vc1hy
    @TheOutsider-vc1hy 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

Omni Movement has no drawbacks, so players don't suffer any penalties from jinking into a slide or a dive (this is outside aim-assist). You can slide with full momentum, you sprint with full momentum across every type of terrain, and you can slide uphill, which is baffling to me.
When you have such fluid movement with maps so small it boils down to a sliding simulator. Slide through a doorway, dolphin dive past the wall, slide through the hallway faster, etc.
People are going to hate me for this, but MW2 had the right idea of having a finite stamina bar.

It's the main reason why I didn't buy BO6 and only tried it through Game Pass, but it's definitely not the only reason why I uninstalled BO6 and went back to MW3. The game has a lot more problems beyond just the omni-movement.

  • @gatlin1320
    @gatlin1320 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    1. You can’t make adjustments to your slide. It’s full send in whatever direction you started sliding in and there’s no changing it.
    2. It’s difficult to stop sprinting. You have to stop moving entirely for almost a full second before you can continue moving again without sprinting. If you’ve found it frustrating running shotguns in this game, this is why. In every other game, you’d stop sprinting instantly upon not moving. That one second delay didn’t exist.
    3. Hold to sprint would seem like a good solution to the “can’t stop sprinting” problem. It’s broken though. As soon as you graze a wall or something, your character will stop sprinting even though you’re actively holding down the sprint button. In order to sprint again you have to let go of the sprint button and hit it again.
    4. To fix the problem from #3 there’s a setting called “sprint restore”. Turning this on makes it so bumping into objects doesn’t stop you from sprinting. Problem is it also restores problem #2. Now whenever you bump into an object or jump you enter a toggle sprint. A sprint that can’t be turned off unless you cease all movement for a full second. This is despite having “hold to sprint” on.
Overall the movement in BO6 is just pretty clunky and frustrating to use.

Titanfall is a great example, people are making a point that they arent anti-movement they are anti movement that is lazily slapped on top of the game. Titanfall was made based on its movement every player had to engage it and it was fun, it was as important to the game as shooting. Meanwhile on cod every year they make the same base game but now they slapped this Omni movement on top, it was not something built on to the game from base. Basically titanfall would be a cake and the movement would be the frosting, but cod they made a chicken pie but threw in the same frosting on top( I understand its not that contrasting but its just an example). the jetpack cods felt a lot more built around the movement than this game is...

High skill gap mechanics are rewarding for competitive players but for the general player base it makes the game infuriating to play. Look at Fortnite.
They were losing players cause of the building after it got way too fast so they added zero build so those players who can’t stand the skill gap could enjoy the game
I think activision is looking at the casual/sweaty prespective wrong. Maybe they need follow Fortnite and add a playlist with the movement tech toned down or disabled for the casuals instead of this bullshit sbmm system

This is going to sound crazy, but I wonder what it would be like and the player retention numbers would be like if in the next Cod, they removed sliding, going prone, and diving. Basically, just omni-running, crouching, and jumping in the game. I wonder if more people would continue playing the game because the majority of the skill is based on your aiming skill, and there’s fewer things to blame for losing a gun fight. Insane levels of movement required to win most gun fights might be incredibly stressful for a lot of people, killing the numbers of the player base. Maybe toning things down and reducing the overall stress and anxiety of playing the game might retain and even bring in more players. And of course, Cod is a very competitive game, I know that. But certain things could change to reduce that anxiety for people, while still having its competitive soul to some degree. Just curious on everyone’s thoughts.

Sure it's not hard to learn, and it does feel satisfying if you hit a couple moves in a row. But it takes the fun out of the game when I'm playing how I play and I come head to head with a y-y spamming, constantly sliding, plays 8-10 hours a day and has the movement down. Now I feel like a damn owl with my feet running towards one spawn but looking behind me at the same time because they’ll be spawning there any second.
Now, I want aim to be the reason you win a gunfight. I understand wanting the ability to escape. But, back in the day, you could escape and get away before getting finished off…it was a skill to get away, a skill to place yourself near cover, skill to know the timing of when to move and push…all those skills are gone!

I think you missed that guys point that made the Titanfall comparison. Titanfall’s movement made sense because maps, the flow, etc were made for the movement. BO6 maps weren’t made for the movement.
If the flow of the maps and the size of them were made to better utilize the movement, BO6 movement would be/feel better. Titanfall feels like the movement is meant to be used whereas BO6 makes you feel like you have to use it even though the maps aren’t built for it. So it doesn’t feel natural. Not to mention the spawns and everything.
I was a sweat in both COD and Titanfall so I feel what they’re saying. They aren’t upset bz it’s too sweaty imo. It’s more so, the movement doesn’t fit the game well with how everything else around the movement is designed.

5:36 Titan fall 2 WASNT a sweaty mess
They had maps and game modes that MADE SENSE with the movement. And the whole Titan system really helps keep the pace of the game from going Mach 10 constantly
Even as a mid af causal Console player it made sense and I had fun playing Titan fall. Because the game was TRYING to be a Movement-shooter. And they did it beautifully
Black ops 6 is turning into a movement-shooter with the same ol maps we’ve been playing on since the og dolphin dive. Think about how small nuketown is and how it just WORKED with a Bo1 or bo2 movement style.
Basically nothing has changed from black ops 1 nuke town to the bo6 version. But we have all this crazy movement now
Hot take. I think some of the medium to MASSIVE sized maps from Cod Ghosts would fit better into Bo6 with the movement allowing you to move across the maps much faster.
Edit: I DO love movement games when they’re done right, Titan fall 2 has this Fast pace that just WORKS with the big maps and the Titans.
But I’ve always loved cod for the “Medium” pace gameplay you got from cods around 2007 to 2013
Same way a battlefield game felt slower paced and you took your time. Slower paced. Little bit closer to a tactical shooter.
Then you go aaalll the way and look at a game like rainbow 6 siege. All of these games have their own different pace that get complemented by the maps they have and The movement options.
So cod speeding up and becoming a movement shooter is something that I ain’t a fan of. Be fr, you telling me you wanna SPEED UP a game of Shipment? Or nuke town. Or Steakout? you’re telling me you like this Faster? Or would it be a little better if you COULDNT tactical sprint and Slide while pre-firing every corner

6:00 maybe I can answer some of these questions
I am not Anti-movement at all. Titan fall is one of my favorite movement-shooter type games. It works there
Let me also say (again) that I was a casual player and I would DEFINITELY get stomped on by the top 1% of players but that’s not a problem. Because I’m not playing in a damn E-sport tournament.
The movement I cod isn’t as fun, isn’t as intuitive. And I think the reason really is the maps
The movement needs room to MOVE. You need time to BREATHE. even titan fall 2 with its INSANE cracked out movement options gave you time to breathe. Open maps. Titans, Great spawn locations.

Personally, I think it’s great, and it was very easy to get used to. Having to change all your settings to get to that point wasn’t ideal but overall, I like it. The map designs might not pair with it well but that doesn’t mean the system itself is bad.
For example, mw2 2022 was a terrible movement system and wz2 was awful as a general (for me) and a lot of people say “Al mazrah was bad” when they really mean “the game mechanics are bad” when the map itself was great.

Hate the movement because every single fucking time I just want to crouch while backing up quickly upon being shot at, my guy decides to slide 15 miles away from where I was standing, that and the fact you can just slide 15 miles at mach 5 from a 1 second sprint sucks and does nothing but allow sweaty nerds to do dumb as shit movement.

This movement has made the CoD multiplayer experience the worse in the franchise.

i believe the omni movement was added late in the development, you can clearly see that these maps are not designed for this kind movement system. they are not even three lane at all, that was the biggest lie they've said in the marketing of black ops 6. i hope infinity ward tunes down this movement a little bit for MW4 2026, the addition of sliding backwards or sidewards is too much, there should be some sort of penalty for sprinting backwards from forward slide. omni movement is good and i believe it can be adjusted.

I think Omni movement wouldn’t be that bad if there was no penalty for sprinting or tac sprinting. If you could keep your weapon ready to fire at all times and no sprint to fire delay, it would be wayy better. The movement is such a big part of the game and you are also penalized in some way for it. Those two things together just feel not that great in combination. If the Gung Ho perk was just a part of the basic movement mechanics, it would be fine

@ it would allow you to just run and gun FR. and not worry about when and where you shouldn’t be sliding or sprinting. because of sprint to fire delays and all that. Reload while sprinting should be standard. Omni movement would feel way less worse if there wasn’t all of the downsides to sprinting and sliding. Probably take some getting used to, but it would feel smoother and less punishing to run and gun.
