I always get chills when Lei says "Heavenly Peaks Descent" as Megalomania kicks in. Such an amazing delivery.
Likewise. Then I get a _different_ kind of chill at 9:12.
The japanese dub added more flavour by merging the shifu's voice during that line.

@@reijikogarashi1867Yeah that’s what makes it my favorite over the English dub. Also the aggressiveness in the deliver package so much punch it just gives me chills and my favorite lead up to a boss fight.

Reina 'Ueshama' Ueda really did excellent as Lei. She's really good at loud screams, even when she's often picked as a softie character. Lei is definitely not a total softie, but it also enhances the loud screams.
Reina also voiced Mallow from Pokemon Sun and Moon who also had to do a loud mournful wail when the young girl reunited with the spirit of her dead mother. The minute I knew who she was voicing, I was already expecting Lei to scream for the grandfather she ever knew.

I will admit I like Lei English voice but the Japanese one did the scream better.

3:48 Omg that transition from "Heavenly Peaks Descent!" into Megalomania blew my mind the first time I heard it and it still does every damn time! So freaking sick
I find it the most impactful in all chapters. It really does itself a big favor to do this chapter first for that experience too!

I got chills when Yun says it. I didn't even know I was making a decision like that when doing the training. Just thought that I was supposed to keep them at an equal state, if I had known I would have just picked one but Yun would probably still be the perfect choice for me. Just fit the story I had going in my head of him wanting to meet the expectation he thought Shifu had of him. Ultimately crumbling at the end and giving up momentarily only to start spiraling down until he hears Lei and Hong metaphorically beat him until he realizes whats at stake. Leading to him coming to aid Shifu until ultimately he achieves the status of Master while forever being a pupil of the world.
I prefer Lei, for completely.

Lei's voiceslines, particularly her scream after shifu dies is much better in the Japanese version tbh
Nah, I totally preferred how the English VA did it.
Yeah, here, the scream is more grief-stricken.
I dont like in the English voice when Lei uses Heavenly Peaks Descent she just says "The OldMan taught me this!" It gets old really fast.

He did Sasori in Naruto and if you consider him a foil to the main protagonist Suzaku in Code Geass
@@knightmayor1703 There are some good Japanese voices, even if some of the diologue felt short compared to the text (Wild West chapter come in mind). Akira's did pick up his laid back nature, Ou Di Wan Lee, while voiced by Sasori from Naruto, did sound like an classic 90's anime villain, and Yun Jou sounds like an anime MC with that high pitch tone.
Sakurai is just using his Lan Di voice from Shenmue.

@@elbirri In Japanese the R tends to sound like an L. So when she says the technique's name it's: *Sengan! LEN! Zankeeen!* When you hear it.
@@shidensasaki5527 Small correction, but it's Senga, not Sengan. The full name in the original characters is 旋牙連山拳, read in Japanese as Senga (旋牙) Renzan (連山) Ken (拳)

Why does Ou Di Wan Lee remind me of DMC Vergil?
I'm convinced it's supposed to be "Ou-Di Wan Lee." Like, his mom had Di as a surname, and his dad had Ou as a surname.
This fight is really annoying. Probably among my least favorite of the Odio incarnations. I think my main gripe with this fight is that Heavenly Peak's Descent usually puts you in range of his OHKO move.
So players are encouraged to finish him off with it.
