My first trip report, give me any feedback you’ve got, it’s much appreciated! A small correction, I got the Dublin terminals confused, I arrive with Ryanair to terminal 1 and depart with Aer Lingus at terminal 2, I hope you enjoy!
Having flown both more times than I care to count I can say Aer Lingus is better on routes such as Dublin to Paris or Rome because from my experience they were only ever €60 more tops which for me is worth not having to deal with Beauvais or Ciampino, or on a long flight. However on a flight like Dublin to Bristol with a short flight time and one airport I wouldn't hesitate to choose Ryanair if they were significantly cheaper. Just got back from Milan and we flew Aer Lingus to and from Linate and we're heading to Edinburgh with Ryanair in 2 weeks so I honestly couldn't live without either ✈. Great report I really enjoyed
I used to fly alot from Manchester to Dublin(it will teach me for dating an American and flying across every 8 weeks(you clear US Immigration there and not in the US so its much quicker than flying direct if you time it right)!!!), the thing that I always found uncomfortable is with the runway layout you feel like you fly past the airport before landing with the runway off-set to the side of you.
Have flown Cork to Stansted a few times and it was fine , the fare was cheap. Have flown Aer Lingus to LHR from Cork too , LHR is more convenient for some parts of London. Interesting report well done.👍👍
By watching the landings from my computer looked like that ryanair landing was much better smoother and not long flare as in that aer lingus! Great report!
Maybe, but I was on the plane, so I of all people would know, GoPro stabilisation takes greater effect on the first landing as resolution changes its impact, I went from 1080p to 2.7k between the two flights. The Ryanair landing was faster with no float unlike Aer Lingus, so maybe that explains it. Regarding the point of prejudice, Ryanair is my most used airline, i really do like them!
I find Stansted a pretty messy airport. I fly from there fairly regularly and just don’t find it a pleasant experience. For the price of the Ryanair flight, cannot complain too much!
Dude, if I had known you were over here I would have bought you a pint lol. And the Guinness is much nicer here than anywhere else in the word. Next time you’re over, I’d suggest going to the west of the country. Galway is great city. Lots to do and not nearly as expensive as Dublin.
Great video, I can’t lie. I hope you enjoyed your flight to my home airport Dublin and touring out the city itself. Should’ve flown on the 16th. The weather was banging and there were so many people there at the time. I’ve been on Aer Lingus like 3 times and I’ve experienced what you’ve experienced but Ryanair, No Comment cos I’ve never been on the airline yet. Would’ve liked to see more details such as the seat number both flights and both aircraft registrations.
Thanks for the feedback! Both my seat numbers were revealed on the price bit (and I think I said it), and both aircraft registrations were listed in the bottom left corner around boarding :)
I was shocked when I flew from Stansted. Cramped and very uncomfortable - even Lounge was tacky. Very poor compared to my regular Asian ports like Changi & Incheon. Wonder what first impression that gives of UK to visitors though LHR & LGW are hardly world beating.
Dang £40 for that Ryanair flight was highway robbery. I've flown from Dublin to both Luton and Gatwick for €8 each way. The stupidly cheap fares are frequent enough that personally I don't see the extra cost for BA or Aer Lingus as worthwhile. Obviously Aer Lingus's relatively new T2 at Dublin is a lot better than Ryanair's wing of T1, but I'm not sure it's worth say 5-10x the price. BA and Aer Lingus have the benefit of flying to LCY and LHR, both of which are better than Luton and Gatwick. The train from Luton to London is sometimes only £3.50 which really helps keep travel costs down, especially compared to the train to Stansted. If travel dates are inflexible and Ryanair doesn't have any cheap seats left, I'd fly a legacy carrier, especially if it was only 10 quid more. Personally, on sub 1hr flights I don't care about the product too much if I don't have any extra bags. I had a 4.5 hour flight on a Ryanair Max 8200 and the 28 inches of pitch would have been miserable if I didn't have the row to myself. I'm honestly going to avoid the Max 8200 to the best of my ability on flights over an hour or so. The 30 inches of pitch on a 737-800 is just so much more tolerable, even if the seats themselves are just as short and uncomfortable.
@@PilotStudd did you turn the stabilisation off on the air lingus one?? As sure as hell that was a lot harder. Also have you heard about the shock absorbers difference between the b73 family and the a320 family?
Certainly didn’t carry on in Ireland, and the Weatherspoons Guinness was watery not creamy so it was a safe bet, many a pint in Dublin was enjoyed though! Thanks for watching, Joe 😂

I was just about to correct you on that one.
Please more of the tripreports, this was the best tripreport i‘ve ever seen ✈️
Just want to correct a slight error: In Dublin Ryanair always uses Terminal 1; Aer Lingus uses Terminal 2
Yeah whoops! Thanks for the correction :)
That Ryanair landing into Dublin looked really smooth!!
Nice video all the same! Loved how wet and cold you looked up in Howth!!
The camera doesn’t lie 😂
@@PilotStudd The reason I say it is that there is a good chance it was me!! :)

I’ll be honest I think GoPro stabilisation helped out Ryanair, it felt much bumpier then it looks ;)
@@PilotStudd Oh I see! but really long flare buy the lingus XD two great airlines anyway
If you have British Airways Avios points, they can be used on Aer Lingus.
Great trip report, thanks for sharing.
Great video as usual!
I live in ireland and it is wonderful
This trip report is so good, congrats!
Cheers Bastien!
Arrived into Terminal 1 with Raynair and departed from Terminal 2
i was pricing going to london with aerlingus very expensive but ryanair was cheap to Stansted
9:42 this is the ATR that normally does the DUB to CFN route, to the most scenic approach in the world
Too bad the Amapola F50 is off the route
@@Victor-oz3zo yeah, it was great to see that fly over my house every day lol
is it just me or does the train at Stansted sounded like easyjetsimpilot
Very cool tripreport mate, nice to be back in the skies innit?
Great video but i was looking forward to seeing the new livery on the aerlingus flight.
Sorry Mark, I forget to film it, it can be seen on some planes entering Dublin tho!

Ryanair buttered? Isn't that illegal ?
Can you talk again about the qbit 737??
Always fly Aer lingus to Dublin

When did gb lift masks in airports
About 2 months ago I believe :)
That Ryanair landing was not standard, it seemed to be a soft landing instead.
It felt bumpier and harder then it looked on camera! I believe GoPro stabilisation helped it out, I’ll turn it off next time 😂

What do you mean? :)
Aerlingus is a little bit better.
ryanair would never use T2
Yeah sorry I got them muddled! Correction in the pinned message :)
