  • For certain types of veneer joints, the Festool Track Saw can be the perfect tool to create flawless joints between sheets of veneer. This video is a mini-tutorial on working with veneer including topics like seaming veneer, choosing the correct glue, how a vacuum press works, how to apply and remove veneer tape, and how to sand a veneered panel.

    Your veneering techniques are excellent and your teaching style is easy to follow and understand. Like you, I also respect Paul Schürch, one of your mentors, from whom I've also learned a great deal over the years. Thank you for sharing your expertise and making it so understandable. Thank you also for your excellent presentation at last night's Fox Valley Woodworkers Club meeting!

    I tried this technique on a 4 way match 65” raw veneer mappa Burl tabletop. Best veneer joints I’ve ever made!! Used a brand new Freud Diablo 48 tooth blade. Thanks so much for this info!!!

      Excellent. Glad to hear it. I turn to this technique more and more often since it consistently yields nearly bulletproof results. Good luck.

    Larry could I use Baltic birch plywood as a substrate?

      Baltic birch is an excellent choice. Good luck.

    Do you need to veneer both sides of MDF to avoid wood movement ? Thanks

    • @larryciesla
      @larryciesla  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. Veneering only one side will cause the MDF to warp over time.

    Thank you for the great video. You mentioned using a new, dedicated blade to get the perfect seams on the veneer. Do you recommend a specific number of teeth / tooth style?

      I learned this technique from Paul Schurch who likes to use a new metal cutting blade. I've had great success using Festool's fine cut woodworking blade. I seem to recall it has 50 or 60 teeth. The more teeth the better. Hope you give it a try.

    What a snooze fest!!! You could have covered the info in 15 minutes! What a great video to cure insomnia. You're furniture must cost a fortune. At the speed at which you move it must take you forever to make a piece!
