10+ years with KW and it’s awesome! Helped me go from 30ish units to almost 180 per year! Great training, culture and models to follow. No office is perfect, key is to get involved and help raise the standard. 2 cent copies don’t bother me as we are mainly paperless as well. Nobody better eat my cake tho.
Chastin! Omg thank you for describing exactly what I’m experiencing without me even having to say a word! There’s several training classes available but I’m not feeling like I’m learning to actually do the work! I inquired about a possible mentor and got the craziest look as if I said something absurd.
I’ve been with Keller Williams for a little over two years. One team was good but fell short on “good” training. The next team is phenomenal!! It’s all in the teams culture. Like he said Keller Williams is great company but you do need to interview the people you are deciding to surround yourself with so be sure they are a good fit for you.
I don’t get it Mr. Miles. I have a lot of respect for you....but trying to trash Keller Williams did not come out well at all. It was totally out of character for you. I watched you struggle in that video. If you don’t have anything good say you probably should not. Learn from that experience sir
LOL I was laughing so hard on the cake story. Glad you left that joke of an office. The office could've been good for a ton of reasons but sometimes if you don't mesh with people that you're around you just need to leave. Great video! Left a like and subbed lol gonna go check out your other content.
BRO I AM IN THE SIMILAR POSITION AS YOU!! i have been in the business for about a month now and I finished the 30 day course they give u like you talked about and after that it’s been downhill my coach doesn’t even help me unless I reach out to her, she never checks up on me or helps me plan anything I’m like all on my own. I also notice how much they charge you with fees which is ridiculous especially when I’m not even in the office and most the trainings you have to pay for I really want to find some better brokerage man but I don’t know where to leave too as a new agent
Your experience at KW of having a lack of help (after signing with them) seems to be pretty typical of most large Brokerages across the country to me. I think the Brokerage that solves this problem first will end up "winning" in the end.
Tom Daves out of Roseville,California was KW's #1 agent from 2007-2012 for total units sold.Him and his entire team officially joined Exp last month. You can type in "Tom Daves exp" on here and he had a video from two weeks ago about him leaving KW after 23 years.Daniel Beer had the #1 Keller Williams office in San Diego and they all switched over to eXp this year.KW's multi-state 46:10 team switched over the same week I did in June. The former KW Erik Kelly Group officially joined eXp today. My sponsor is Jennifer Wehner in Scottsdale. Her entire luxury group joined eXp from Re/Max in April. She is atop !% agent and was the #1 female Re/Max agent in Arizona.Too many top agents and teams to name.Type in "EXP explained in just over 8 minutes" on here for an informational video about the company.Contact me if you want to know more.
That office was A WHOLE MESS! I'm currently looking at a KW office, but they seem to be the polar opposite of what you described. (WHEW!) That cake story had my DYING! I would have ben HOOOOT! New subbie! 😂😂😂
I feel the same way about my office. Im thinking of switching pretty soon.. most of the things you were saying hit home for me, like I feel like I wasn't getting help that I needed.
I initially came to KW because I believed in the God, Family & Work concept. This KW office appeared to be team based. Everything like you said was centered on IF I go to BOLD, I'll get a lead. Other agents got to go to BOLD on a scholarship at significantly reduced costs or FREE. I paid $800 and felt it was a "Rah Rah Siscumbah" class. If you go to Ignite, you'll get a lead. If you sign up for Productivity Coaching, you'll get a lead. I signed up for everything and never got a lead. I should've known this was not the place for me when no one showed me around or even told me where the freaking bathrooms were. I left! I found myself back at KW at another location because during the chaos at the first office, the 2nd office was helping me and encouraging me.
Lincoln Rlty thank you for that response, however my point wasn’t that I wasn’t doing business, it was that they were making promises and not keeping them. I did attend PC, BOLD, Ignite, business meetings, everything. My business grew more after I got a free mentor outside of KW.
Lincoln Realty Group that is so true! My mentor/coach, Elaine Blaine is great. We are Real Estate Ladies Rock. We cross all real estate professional lines, agencies, etc. We encourage, inspire and motivate one another. We’re a team of 20k and growing across the nation and globally. I thank God I found the group and especially the coach. The beauty of it all is that it’s FREE info. The ladies involved for decades are sharing info. The top producing ladies are sharing info. The newbies are sharing info. We are all learning!
Hey Chastin! I've been with KW for 4 years....I'm sorry that your experience sucked. I was with a smaller brokerage before I left and came to KW. The team lead, OP, Productivity coaching has been Stellar. That Cake story was funny and very sad. KW isn't for everyone and I can understand why you left that office. KUDOS to you and your business. DAMN...they ate your cake?? But as you said...it all depends on the people and who is in leadership roles. I was told my current market center had issues too....untll they got the right people in the run it. Anyway Good luck to you!
Yea.. the cake story make me subscribe 😂😂😂😂😂😂. On a more serious note... It is personal relatable stories that makes a channel like this real.... I'm learning! Thanks for sharing.
I've been with keller Williams for two years and I have not been active as an agent until now because I was not able to get hands on training. The only reason I am able to do it now is because of self educating myself through youtube and reading. I still work a full time job. But I am more prepared through my own self training. Thanks to you guys who post content to help people.
IGNITE is FREE for ALL Agents, TAUGHT ONLY by KW offices. It is a 12 session (36 hour) series that leaves everything this guy is saying as silly, and uninformed...
You are beyond rude! Why the name calling? He is NOT a nitwit! He's a very intelligent, humble, and knowledgeable Real Estate Agent and Entrepreneur. Chastin made it VERY clear with his disclaimer that he wasn't speaking negatively about Keller Williams as a whole. He's talking specifically about HIS experiences at the particular KW office that he was part of. Why is that so hard to understand? If you're in business you might wanna refrain from presenting a confrontational and negative image online.
I have to tell you, Chris, that I just went through IGNITE training and I feel the same way that Chastin did. It doesn't teach you ANYTHING about how to do contracts, where to prospect except in a very broad sense, and what to do once you actually GET a client! I'm fumbling through my very first transaction and I feel so LOST!! And there's really no structure after the training is over. Now at KW they CHARGE you for mentorship programs, as if you're not paying enough as it is! Oh, and by the way, IGNITE is not exactly FREE. You can attend the classes, but the BOOK for IGNITE is $40. I know because I just got charged for it!
Jodie, I felt the same way too. It's all about applying the knowledge. I don't want you to feel lost and the first couple of contracts can be daunting. You need to reach out to your broker for every little question. We also had a contracts class during IGNITE. Do you have that where you are? I'm in Austin at the mother ship but you need to feel comfortable with the contract. It's daunting for everyone at first so that is totally normal to feel like 'what the hell am I doing?' Do not feel bad about pestering your leadership and team leader. That is why they get paid! Pass them each and every version after you make changes and say, "How is this?" and then send it on to the other side.
My experience was the same. I left 9 months in to working with them. Look around people there are better brokers that care and support you and don't take all your money.
Ya I’m currently 1 month in and in the same position not finding any support or much help feeling just on my own after the course, I’m debating on leaving but also thinking about staying for a little longer since it’s only been a month but idk what to do
I felt exactly the same! Everyone tried to be helpful, but the experience was the same for me. I also did not like the expense of some training where they told you to use a script that says"...if I get 10 leads, I win!" That was not true.
I've been with Keller Williams for 12 years now. There is so much training available for free and I have yet to get through it all as new content is continuingly being uploaded. Yes, there are paid trainings, such as BOLD, which agents from other brokerages attend (not just KW agents). Many agents go time and time again and get something new out of it each time. Yes, there is a cost to this, but many Market Centers (offices) will reimburse you for the tuition. I respect your opinion, but it sounds like you were at a poorly run Market Center (MC). I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience l, but I'm glad to hear the MC is doing better. Hopefully, this review will not leave a bad taste on KW with people. In my experience, KW agents are the most ethical, friendly, and helpful agents I've come across. The amount of tools & resources available to KW agents is astounding. KW was named the #1 training organization worldwide - not just in the Real Estate industry. It is shocking to hear you felt you didn't get enough out of your training. I know our MC has a mentor program for newer agents to help them ramp up their business.
Most of my premier realtors are with KW and they’re amazing at what they do but I know it will not be the place for me when I get my license. The cake story is definitely not dumb I probably would’ve lost my sh*t because it was about the respect and principal of the situation not the cake itself 😂😂😂
I left ME after a few months and now I'm with a smaller broker which the commsion is better, no office fees, he's a mentor and gives free leads! A lot of people told me KW only focuses on the top 20%. Even someone from the top 20% told me so. If you joined during a certain time you had to join Productivity coaching giving 10% of your commsion to someone weather they helped you or not, plus 15% to another coach for your first 3 transactions. Wasted most of my time in training instead of actually going out to sell houses. They said certain training was mandatory, which I found out latter it wasn't. Really nice people. Convinced me to get my license. Their referral network is pretty cool. Plus I still send referral to top producing agents at another KW.
Hey Chastin, new subscriber here. I’m leaving the government after 20 years and getting my real estate license down here in Texas. KW is one of the places I am looking and still will probably give them a try. Thanks for putting this out there for those of us transitioning into the business!
Disorganization at a company I work, for is a huge red flag for me. Drives me nuts! I’ve seen some of the inner workings of my local KW office that I was planning to join, and it’s not my cup of tea. Yeah I’m territorial as all get out! That cake scenario would have pissed me off too. But as for the fees like printing, can’t you write that off?
Great Story. All major franchise offices are not created equal. Love the story on the cake...”of course they couldn’t have called you about the cake”. Congratulations for having the guts to make the move when you needed to...oh, and by the way...you are too kind!!! LOL!
Omg!!! They ate your gift (cake)! How horrible!!! Very unprofessional....I’m a virtual assistant for an KW agent and she needed a good organized assistant as well.
I worked at a Keller Willams office that the in house escrow stole part of my commission check. It was tricky how she did it she tried to say it was an extra short sale fee when I did the short sale she did nothing on the short sale. Me and the buying agent reduced our commission for the bank because the bank In order to meet the shortage because there was a lien then when it closed the bank ended up paying the lien in the closing paper and the escrow company took that extra money that was there instead of telling us and giving it back to the realtors because the bank paid it and then the escrow Company made up a bogus fee and scooped it up. I want to say I think it ended up being about 2500 bucks total.
I feel your frustrations. I'm almost there at my Keys office but I'm determined to stay the course. I have a mentor but he is too busy so he says. I wonder can I not give him the split for my first transaction seeing that he is not helping me at all.
Look at other brokerages also. Keller Williams is okay for the training and education they offer but for new Realtors I would probably recommend a smaller structured company.
Thanks Chastin, it is good to hear other people's testimonies, because people seem to think that the world has changed to a perfect and great place, but there will always be stories like these, if Gary Keller doesn't step in and make sure each office has the same vision and focus...not just in words, but in action. I am personally tired of seeing great young people and old (like people) face things like this. Going to college and getting 2 degrees, I might as well have thrown them out the window when I became a Realtor...Real Estate can be a great career and experience if we give more support to those coming into the business, not just preaching and teaching, but actually giving support. I have been in the business for 6 years and still trying to figure out somethings...for people like Mr. Keller, support is only a drop in a hat, for someone just starting in the business, one month free to get you started could be a blessing...KW is a great place so far and my office will answer your questions..I truly believe, it's the place, location and how people are trained to lead, not only in the classrooms, the office, the board members, etc...Thanks again Chastin..sorry your experience was not great at KW, but as a woman of color, we face these challenges everyday, even harder sometimes in Real Estate...but you will do great where ever God leads you...
It's who owns that location. Costs, we got billed for things we had no involvement in. It was the GM, who was driving around cost $120,000 car which we paid for, her trips to Florida to help those in prison . All meals, etc. Profit sharing got eaten up. But home office in Texas caught it and she ended up with a $17,000 car no more paid trips, etc I think home office didn't allow renewal franchise. Good but this GM changed to Coldwell Banker. I started w CB. Management was great. I was hard of hearing at the time and it wasn't appreciated. So KW. My desk was in a closet w hot water tank and furnace due to my disability. I should have gone home back to Michigan and focused on sales, investment and management. KW is great. Don't get me wrong but it's not for everyone.
Yes I agree with you 100%. KW isn't for everyone. Its a great place to start I think as a new agent but alter being in the game for about 2yrs. What do they really have to offer you? I couldn't justify paying them $23,000 for what I received in return. I think you made a smart choice.
I am sorry to hear your past experience at your KW market center. Trust you are doing well now and the office I work with is a family to us. We all love it.
Omg you mentioned 85% of the things I went thru in the office of my market center. That’s why I left 😞 I never got the opportunity to get close to anybody - we would be at public events /seminars and even trainings and not one of them would even reach out knowing we wworked forthe same office / market center . one of the associate brokers & 2 of the ladies that help with payroll were the sweetest ever. I think I only spoke or came in contact with the actual broker 3x times in my three years there. I learned a lot from agents outside of my own agency- it was really sad actually. I have no regrets being gone . I need needed to go somewhere where I was going to grow and there’s no way I was gonna grow at KW unless I continued to shell out all my commissions on more “kw in house training “ on top of the fees and their cut they were already getting off of me. It sounds really nice what they offer you in the beginning, but only in the beginning.
I cannot agree with u any more wow!!! I am experiencing a similar issue at my brokerage finished the training and it’s like nothing now, no one’s helping me or anything my coach doesn’t even check up on me or talk much with me. also YES they try to convince u in the beginning it’s all nice but it’s really not all that and the fees are so much they charging me so much for not even using some of their services which is absolutely absurd. I wanna leave don’t know what brokerage to find I’m only a month in but maybe I’ll stay who knows
Command and being in limbo between Dotloop and Docusign did not help me. Command had so many issues and Kelle did too. They didn't work. Plus agents had been leaving in droves the KW office I was at for the last and a half...There seemed to be a lot of chaos in the office and I had 4 productivity coaches in the 2 years I was there. I liked the office when I first joined it. KW does have awesome training and their BOLD program was great! But I felt like I was dying at the office I was at. Maybe one day I will return. Who knows!
I literally died after hearing the cake story im glad i watched this video you got my subscription... im 1 month out from taking my texas state test and i had two very promising choices ive narrowed down for potential brokerages to contract with and KW was one of them. Thanks for the info and personality you rock! I plan on taking my channel in the direction very similar to yours. Im out of the Paris Tx Area but originally from Wylie Tx.
I can appreciate your video. For me specifically, I have been with KW for almost 4 years. I have capped every year. Usually after 3 months. You did not mention 100% commission. When I hit 100% commission, copies and printing charges are not a big deal. Oh and I print thousands of flyers and copies monthly. Unfortunately you did not have the right people there with you. Every office, I'm sure have their ups and downs. It's obvious your office wasn't following the KW model. Sorry you left.
Hi. Thank you for this video! I am a KW agent and I jointed KW for the same reason, they have a lot of training for new agent. But yes it costs a lot of money to get started. Fortunately for me, I started my real estate career while working full time, and my husband was workng fulltime at home . I could not have done this if I wasn't working. The other benefit for me is I had my own home office set up.for working, printing etc. I only went to KW office to meet with my mentor. I learned a lot my first year, but I made less than $2,000! I wrote it off as a learning experience. Now I am in my second year of real estate and I have learned a lot and made many connections, so I'm looking forward to a successful year, but it does cost a lot to work here if you aren't making at least a $1,000,000 in transactions a year.
Dude... I’m an inexperienced 23-year old agent and I’m literally dealing with the same exact thing. The KW I’m at offers no mentorship and every time I ask for some guidance, I get a bullshit ass answer. Giving advice is not the same as mentorship. But I guess it is to them. The KW in my area relatively new and small with about 20 agents and maybe a handful are actually doing something. The “top producer” is only doing 8-million a year in sales, not saying that’s bad. At this point, I no longer care about being able to cap out and keep 100% of my commission for the rest of the year. I’ll gladly go to another firm that doesn’t offer such as long as I can secure a solid mentor. After all, I don’t have nothing to lose, but they do.
I've been with KW since 2009. Two in WA state (changed due to moving) and two in NV. (changed due to the one turning into a non-KW Culture Environment when they changed leadership). 3 of the 4 are awesome. TONS of FREE training, especially for new agents. Master Mind groups for all different levels of experience. The fees are reasonable and your video makes it sounds like they bleed you to death. Any franchise has a franchise fee. KW is $3k a year. Each Market Center must have money to run it, pay staff etc. Each one varies depending on what city you are in. With that fee comes all the free training, free copies up to a certain point and then like 3 cents for a copy, so very minor, bullpens with computers, kitchens, conference rooms, events and staff. (Many more things I'm not mentioning as I could go on and on). The other thing to remember is you are running your own business, KW is giving you a platform to do this. You are not their employee, so they don't financially support YOUR business as you are the business owner and any business owner has to support their own business..Yes, some trainings cost money, like Family Reunion & Mega Camp and any special group you are in, such as Luxury or Global.... Someone has to pay the thousands of dollars they cost. Family Reunion has 16 - 18K people for 5 days. The splits we pay would not cover that. There is food, entertainment, printed materials, staff etc. These are optional and worth every penny as the networking I do I always get referrals that pay for the event 10x over. BOLD is a great class and most Market Centers I know will pay you back with your first 4 transactions after you graduate. Amazing class that changed my business from less than $50K to over $200K. There is alway profit share too. You can make enough on that to pay your yearly splits. Right now our office is offering a diminishing split for recruiting. It is unfortunate you had such a bad experience. Like you said, Each office is Independely Owned and Operated. I've never heard of offices being so disorganized. I did see my one office go down hill quickly with the change of leadership and saw a different side of the owner/broker during the change that made me leave as KW offers so much. Anyone thinking of KW and want more info - please call me to find out all the good things about it - 702.381.1123. They should have bought you a new cake - very rude to do that.
Hey Cindy, you don't have to pay a franchise fee, and you can have an equity share in the company thru stock you receive when you sell homes. We have a low cap and the opportunity to review our CAP back in company stock as well. I would love to get your opinion and just comparing apples to apples.
Hi Cindy I am a brand new agent. And it’s been one month. How long did it take you to get up and running. I feel as I am getting training by so many. I gather from online as well and my broker helps me a lot. But he too has a lot on his plate. What would be your best advice for a brand new realtor. Same question to Chastin. I sometimes feel lost is that normal.
I’m so GLAD you made this video! The first two points have been my exact experience with them! Great people there just not the kind of mentoring I need to succeed! Thank you so much for this!
Thank you for your insight. I read one of those KW comments and was a bit skeptical. We are all looking to make a good living but it seems like they might be a dog eat dog company. It could just be the franchise you worked at but it is concerning. I'm in the military now but in a couple years I'll be looking for a new chapter in my life. I dont expect to be negotiating dream home off the bat but I want to get to that point. Anyway, what classes do you recommend I take to prepare myself and get credentialed in order to be easily marketable with an edge over others?
I just interviewed with KW and in that particular office they wave fees for the first 3 months because they know new agents usually don't make money. The manager told me if I signed with her today that she would wave my fees for 6 months. I didn't sign. It's between them and Coldwell. I really don't know who to choose.
Don’t ever sign, if they say sign today. If they want you as part of the team, then the offer should stand for a reasonable period of time. Sleeze sales if they say if you sign today,
Are the best brokerages (Best being high earners, top sellers) necessarily the most renowned like KW? or are they smaller? How do I find discern the best brokerages in my area
I actually started there with you. We were in the same training classes. But, I went broke and left before you for the same reasons. LOL I have since gone back and joined a great team, which has been very beneficial and is helping me a lot. Great video and I feel you on that cake! That was wrong on every level!! Continued success to you!
One mans opinion. KW is about systems and efficiency. We actually become plug and play. He could have went to any office worldwide and been in production. Its there if you want it. We teach you to run a business and leverage that business. We are supported by a culture of caring and the desire to see you succeed. We are about profit sharing to those who produce and help build the office. Copies and desk fees are normal business expenses and you are taught to use "stop and go" methodology on what investments you make in your business based on ROI. Most of all we are about helping the customer/clients. That is why we are NUMBER 1 in agent count, contracts written, and volume. We don't even advertise ! Whether you are a new agent or a seasoned pro, we can take you to the next level. I have been licensed since 1977. Have been with Century 21, Coldwell Bankers, BHG, and a number of smallier botique brokerages. I can tell you hands down, KW is number one in Training across all industries, not just real estate...New agents...do yourself a favor. Check us out for yourself.
Burt, not to mention. The additional fees they are talking about. Every fee you pay for at the Market Center level is a straight pass through. We dont make a dime on copies or office rentals. Coffee and other things like that are free. I have found that people who feel like this and move brokerages often end back up on our doorstep when they realize how good they had it
Burt Shaw Group I’m just about to get my license and I’ve interviewed 10 different brokers and KW is definitely the highest and the most pushy! I found out really quick that they are all about bringing in as many new agents as possible almost like they’re trying to meet a quota. The training is nice but the other brokers I’ve interviewed have very good training and mentor programs as well and they don’t charge near as much as KW. Training in a classroom is nice but, for me, hands on is the most effective. How can you effectively train new agents if you’re bringing in 30 to 40 new agents every month? Also, a broker’s retention rate is just as important. If they have a poor retention rate then they’re not doing something right. Training is important but it’s almost like that’s all KW wants to brag about and focus on, not ensuring their agents are successful. As far as profit sharing from what I understand an agent needs to bring in a few new agents under them in order for this to happen. If this is the case then I don’t want to join a KW just to help someone else achieve their profit sharing. I met a KW agent right before I started my classes to get my license and they’ve really been pushing me hard to join the KW location they work out of and really pushing me to let them be my coach/ mentor... now I know why. I’m not saying KW is a bad company but I’ve found out a lot about them while doing research on all the brokers in my area. The 2 KW locations I visited nickel and dime their new agents to death so I’m definitely scratching them off my list of potential brokers to go with.
The cake story killed me lmao and it had my blood boiling. That's next level disrespect, glad you made the move. Very courageous of you, way to shed light on your experience in a tasteful manner. You're amazing, I wish you continued success in all of your endeavors 😁🏁
I can't honestly relate. I had to leave as well. The monthly dues and the fee for the xerox machine had me on the WOW FACTOR. I will continue to watch your content on this channel. Thanks for sharing 👍
Sorry to hear that you completely got out of the industry. That's a shame that you allowed others to dictate your business and your future. You should really consider interviewing other brokerages.
Dang! Thats crazy! My KW office is way way different...Every office is different for sure. If I lived in uptown or somewhere else I might not be at KW either.. I interviewed 2 different KW offices and the one I chose was different than the other, which is why I chose it!
I feel the exact same way! I'm located in central Texas and the office I'm associated with is basically the same. Initially I didn't want to start with KW because I feared it would be like this. Ultimately though I wanted to end up there. I just feel its probably better to start there or even as a solo agent after you have some experience. Without experience a team/group setting or small office is probably best.
I am going to study for my license soon and I would really like to do real estate part-time. I am interested in working from home at my own pace doing my own thing mostly. Since I have full-time employment I want to do RE for my passion not for the money necessarily so I dont want to feel under pressure. What advice would you give me for starting out and wanting to basically work from home.
Damn. I would have lost it after the cake! Lol... it’s only cake but it’s the principle. I’m curious, I’m about to get my license and I’m leaning towards Keller Williams for my first few transactions, however, what is the contract like time wise? 6 months? 12 months?
Your contract in most real estate offices is a year, but I assure you if you want to leave you can and they cannot do a non compete clause in MD anyway. When I had my office if an agent wanted to leave I wanted they out that day, as brokers do not want their files raided
The guy who did the whole "I am the CEO" did my onboarding. I read the book ahead of time, the commission was supposed to be 6% but they dropped it to 4%...gonna assume they reduced my price because I was new or they were willing to pay for my class which was 300...even though I already have the 3 certificates and just need to take the retake the exam
I talk agents that left our office and they say the same as your first complaint.. First thing I say is did you ever ask anyone for help or mentorship? WE give so freely and most that left never took ignite or came to market center events . I think they expected everything to be handed to them.. If you take ignite, and read the red book you cannot fail...unless your not trying..
I'm at this point right now...I'm with a firm and thought about leaving because of what you said about being thrown out there. I didn't even have good training, and I thought about joining keller williams, but I may reconsider. I know all brokerages are different. I've been an agent since October 2017, and still haven't sold anything. I wanted to give the firm time before up and leaving but now I'm like I'm done. I'm not getting enough mentorship or training. Any tips?
If you feel like your time is being wasted, then leave. If it's just a "matter of time" thing, then stay. Maybe have a conversation with your broker or team leader and express how you are feeling to see if that makes a difference.
I have an agent who also started in Oct. 2017. I am cutting back some get a lot of leads that which I give to him, and train him and go over everything before it goes to the main office and we split. He has 7 listings from leads I gave him, and one from a family member, and one or 2 contracts. He will be an outstanding agent in 2 years.
Hi Chastin, Amazing video! I have learned so much from you. I am currently studying for my real estate license and I am so excited about this journey!❤️ Thanks again my friend!
Daniel Beer had the #1 Keller Williams team in San Diego. He headed over to eXp realty this year.Tom Daves was the #1 agent/team at Keller Williams for 4 years straight and came over to eXp this month.
We are actually seeing many of the Mega agent teams that went to eXp coming back to KW. I have some pretty interesting letters from some of those agents about their experience over there
ZERO mega teams are going back to KW.I noticed you were unable to name a single "mega team" to go backwards and revert.I just spoke with Tom Daves last week and they have more KW teams in Northern California in the process of switching over to eXp.Same goes in Southern California where Daniel Beers has KW agents signing up daily with his downline.I'm out here in the Phoenix are and we recently had the Erok kelly team from KW officially join and we have two major KW luxury teams in the Scottsdale area in talks with switching over. You can also watch Chuck Fazio's video on here from Monday. He has a large independent brokerage comprising of 850 agents that is now in transition to eXp.TH-cam sensation Loida Velsquez made her video on Monday or Tuesday explaining why she just left KW for better opportunity with eXp.Outdated brokerages are simply not able to compete and eXp agents have no interest in going backwards to whatever brokerage they were able to leave.
thank you for sharing your story! im a new licensee and looking for advices for real estate career. i understand you ! its not bout a cake! Its people treat you like you are invisible really annoying!lol
I cannot stop laughing about the cake. I would be pissed too. Thank you for the advice, I was thinking of joining KW, but now I think differently about them.
your local office may not have cared about you, but there are few companies that care about its people like KW. Our MC is a family and we ALL help each other and will share ANYTHING to help another. When people in our office experience tragedies or even just unfortunate circumstances, we are all there...giving money, bringing meals, visiting, donating clothes to 1 agent's clients that are experiencing hardship. You won't find a more caring group of people. Sorry you never got to experience the KW love because it's all over the world.
Amen, I make my Agents feel like we care. We give them the tools and the attention that have made them great Agents. When Agents send you thank you cards and come in to talk to you to thank you for changing their lives, youre doing something right
So sorry for your bad experience in that office. However, in my office in Stamford CT is the BEST. Rick and Steve are in my opinion the best office managers in the market centre.
KW here in AZ is Phenomenal for FEES, FEES, FEES...just like your office. After about 9 months i too left KW as i was convinced they make no money selling homes but rather hiring 80 agents in an office and FEE'ing the sh!t out of them to make money.
If you are in palm beach county Coldwell Banker at the Wellington and the Boynton Beach Office offer a lot of training and you do not pay for copies. Check them out if you are still looking for another broker to work for.
That's exactly why I didnt go with them. As a new agent you have all these fees. Like you said copies too that's crazy. I concur and click like on this one
Your going to have fees anywhere you go. That's how it works unless you are your own broker! Otherwise, you'll be paying for it. Trust me, people don't get offices for you to use for free. Someone has to pay the rent. Someone has to pay for all the things that go into an office including printing paper. It's called a business. If your broker was not there to make money, they would run out of money and go out of business. Our KW market center, I believe, is the largest with I think around 1000+ agents. If you had all of those agents print just two pages a day that's 2000 pages which is 4 reams. Cost is $12 for crappy paper at that cost per day. 365*12 = $4380/yr NOT including ink for the printers or maintenance. At KW, you get to cap. Most places you will ALWAYS pay at least a 6% fee on every transaction. That's a lot of money left on the table that you're giving away and the training is not there for new agents or non-existant in most places. trainingmag.com/trgmag-article/keller-williams-home-no-1 If you dont have anything saved up and a penny to your name and you want to get into real estate, you need another job or someone to spot you because there are many fees with everything. CRM, MLS, NAR, local AR, Broker fees, gas money to see properties, etc. And I don't want to hear about the flat fee broker... "All I have to pay is $250 a transaction and nothing else"... guess what? Good luck being a real producer in those companies that dont provide anything. They don't do anything for your reputation and if you're sticking the ugliest sign in the ground then why are you doing it? Nobody takes those companies seriously and they don't have any real market share in a competitive market. Sure, if you're out in the sticks of the country, you can get away with it. In the city? Forget about it. KW has over 50% of the market share nationwide. Do you want to be with a company people know and respect or some company that nobody has heard of? Reputation means a lot in real estate because people want to be able to trust you. No place is perfect. No matter where you go, someone is going to complain about something and everyone has different needs and wants. Some of these people, did the training and just never applied it. They thought if they went to the Ignite classes, which are great by the way, that leads would just fall out of the sky. NO. It doesn't work that way. You have to apply your training and get out there and beat doors down and make the phone calls and touches and contacts and followups. If you're not doing that, then don't complain about any company. You're just not doing the work it requires. RANT OVER.
The cake story was hilarious, it made me laugh. I don't blame him I would have left too, how much nerve they had to steal his cake. Was thinking of starting at Keller Williams but maybe not now, I'm a new agent.
I am someone who has been recently asked to meet to discuss “huge opportunity” by a successful real estate agent with this particular company. Even though this video is to explain the dislikes of KW, it doesn’t make me shy away. This is based on personal experience and I admire your honesty.
Sadly, like many agents think, you can't "save your way to prosperity"...KW is not, nor claims to be, the cheapest option of all brokerages - it is, however, the largest and most successful for many reasons related. Focus on VALUE vs. COST like so many highly successful do everyday in business...
Appreciate the feedback!! That cake would've sent me walking too! Then brawd had the nerve to say, "But it was really good though." So y'all smash my cake AND you rub it in...aww hell nah.
I hate it lol these guys barely help you as a new agent and will charge you for so much of your commission and fees
@Annie Oakley what's in it for me? What can you do for me? Because you are doing it for them already.
Ok the eating of the cake was just disrespectful lol
did that boy dirty lol
nadirah naima right! Like who...who do these people think they are. You can f@$k up my check but not my cake. No sir
Very disrespectful LMAO
Shocking!!!!
This is so helpful, I just found you yesterday. Watched 3 videos already -- thanks so much for the help!!!!
The disrespect 😭 first play with my money and now my cake 🙅🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️😂
girl you took the words right from me lol
I don’t get it Mr. Miles. I have a lot of respect for you....but trying to trash Keller Williams did not come out well at all. It was totally out of character for you. I watched you struggle in that video. If you don’t have anything good say you probably should not. Learn from that experience sir
🤣🤣🤣 I love this man
LOL I was laughing so hard on the cake story. Glad you left that joke of an office. The office could've been good for a ton of reasons but sometimes if you don't mesh with people that you're around you just need to leave. Great video! Left a like and subbed lol gonna go check out your other content.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the information. I am glad that you are expressing your opinion because someone else wouldn’t have the courage to speak about kw.
I think the Brokerage that solves this problem first will end up "winning" in the end.
that cake story would've had me fuming, they would've def bought me a new cake, so disrespectful
Bryan Casella just recently left Keller Williams too
for eXp realty. So did KW's #1 agent Tom Daves.he just officially joined eXp last week.
Ben Kinney is KW's #1 agent. Can you clarify which office Tom Daves was at so I can verify your comment? Thanks!
The whole Scott Gregory Team left KW for eXp Realty recently, as well.
Ok. No. That cake incident was just disrespectful...to the max.
That office was A WHOLE MESS! I'm currently looking at a KW office, but they seem to be the polar opposite of what you described. (WHEW!) That cake story had my DYING! I would have ben HOOOOT! New subbie! 😂😂😂
"Then she pulled out my check, and it just blew my mind." 😂😂😂
I feel the same way about my office. Im thinking of switching pretty soon.. most of the things you were saying hit home for me, like I feel like I wasn't getting help that I needed.
Checkout my site at partnerwithcjm.com.
Yeah that sucks that you had to dish out all that money. But I'm glad you were able to find an office that works for you.
Thank you Chastin for the great content as always. Once my first LISTING closes lets have some cake!
Yes!!! I'm 100% down!
Thank you!
Yea.. the cake story make me subscribe 😂😂😂😂😂😂. On a more serious note... It is personal relatable stories that makes a channel like this real.... I'm learning! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate that
I've been with keller Williams for two years and I have not been active as an agent until now because I was not able to get hands on training. The only reason I am able to do it now is because of self educating myself through youtube and reading. I still work a full time job. But I am more prepared through my own self training. Thanks to you guys who post content to help people.
For sure! That's the same way I had to do it.
David Rank sounds like a bot to me 😂😂😂
then add in fee's for the MLS, NAR, licenses, and CEU's...it's like being in the mafia.
you pay those fees to the state and fed. its not attached to a brokerage. its the cost of being an agent at any brokerage
Most of my premier realtors are with KW and they’re amazing at what they do but I know it will not be the place for me when I get my license. The cake story is definitely not dumb I probably would’ve lost my sh*t because it was about the respect and principal of the situation not the cake itself 😂😂😂
RIGHT!! I'm glad someone understands!
Plus I still send referral to top producing agents at another KW.
starting to see what you mean, i'm a new agent with KW. Look, all i want is MLS; already have rentals and i want more
Hey Chastin, new subscriber here. I’m leaving the government after 20 years and getting my real estate license down here in Texas. KW is one of the places I am looking and still will probably give them a try. Thanks for putting this out there for those of us transitioning into the business!
No problem!
LOL!
I appreciate you!
Which office???!
My WK- SouthPark in Charlotte is amazing!!!!
Omg!!! They ate your gift (cake)! How horrible!!! Very unprofessional....I’m a virtual assistant for an KW agent and she needed a good organized assistant as well.
Va'terr Management LLC how can one get started as a virtual assistant?
Sounds like some lazy fat ppl worked there.
Which company would you recommend to work for now? I keep searching but Keller Williams continues to appear.
Check out eXp, I have been with them and it has been a true game changer. partnerwithcjm.com
@@ChastinJMiles would you recommend it for a new agent that of course needs guidance? Considering that its an online brokerage.
I've been sitting on my onboarding docs for about a month now. So many fees! I think I'll go with a local/small office to start my career.
I feel your frustrations. I'm almost there at my Keys office but I'm determined to stay the course. I have a mentor but he is too busy so he says. I wonder can I not give him the split for my first transaction seeing that he is not helping me at all.
Join my mentorship program. It's much cheaper and will give you better value.
How do you switch brokerages? Can they deny releasing your license?is it a clean switch from b to b or does trec get involved?
You switch your license on the TREC website yourself.
I was contacted by a Keller Williams recruiter and met with him so now I am researching KW . Want to hear the good and the bad.
How much is the full fee?
Awesome, thanks for sharing. Good luck on you exam! Don't leave out eXp as a potential. Check out partnerwithcjm.com
I agree 100%
Hey Cindy, you don't have to pay a franchise fee, and you can have an equity share in the company thru stock you receive
when you sell homes.
Hey Chastin, can you tell me what city and state you were in when you had this experience? Thanks in advance.
Dallas, TX
@@ChastinJMiles Thanks!!
Honestly, getting your RE license would be the only class I recommend you take right now. All the other stuff can wait.
did you find a home yet? another brokerage? any success yet?
Yes, I've been with my current broker for the last 4 years.
I’m glad you didn’t get discouraged and kept selling real estate for yourself
I just interviewed with KW and in that particular office they wave fees for the first 3 months because they know new agents usually don't make money. The manager told me if I signed with her today that she would wave my fees for 6 months. I didn't sign. It's between them and Coldwell. I really don't know who to choose.
Decisions decisions
Don’t ever sign, if they say sign today. If they want you as part of the team, then the offer should stand for a reasonable period of time. Sleeze sales if they say if you sign today,
Are the best brokerages (Best being high earners, top sellers) necessarily the most renowned like KW? or are they smaller? How do I find discern the best brokerages in my area
Check their stats. Listings, solds, agent count, etc. That's how you can evaluate them.
Same thing is happening to me plus my insurance charged me
5,000 a year cos one of part of KW polítics is adding them to my car insurance
Dayyyuummmm
I actually started there with you. We were in the same training classes. But, I went broke and left before you for the same reasons. LOL I have since gone back and joined a great team, which has been very beneficial and is helping me a lot. Great video and I feel you on that cake! That was wrong on every level!! Continued success to you!
Thank you!
I liked KW and then a year ago I was hired to do the brakeout for the reunion convention and they still haven’t got paid or can get anyone to talk to.
Who did you decide to work with now ?
“It was over some cake” 😆😆😆😆 LMAO
Agree
So what companies in your guys opinion is a good company to work for?
What are you needing from a company?
There are many youtube videos with the same Title. There must be a reason why.
I felt the same way...lots of training classes and materials but no real mentorship. No real guidance. After the second brokerage I left the industry.
I interviewed 2 different KW offices and the one I chose was different than the other, which is why I chose it!
so basically i dont have to go keller williams for training right?
No you don't have to. As far as I know it's not a requirement.
That’s crazy please tell me which office because they are sending me to college park
Hey Chastin, what was your DISC profile when you where with kw?
D & C
@@ChastinJMiles any advice for an S -.-"
Join eXp. It's a cloud based brokerage and will aid in the working from home aspect of it.
Damn. I would have lost it after the cake! Lol... it’s only cake but it’s the principle.
I’m curious, I’m about to get my license and I’m leaning towards Keller Williams for my first few transactions, however, what is the contract like time wise? 6 months? 12 months?
No not at all. It was the standard independent contractor contract.
I love my KW office! Super supportive
Omg, she had the audacity, to say “It was really good though” damn man😂😂
Right!
Wow how long did you work their for?
thank you for sharing your story! im a new licensee and looking for advices for real estate career. i understand you ! its not bout a cake! Its people treat you like you are invisible really annoying!lol
its so crazy How unprofessional these agency are!
I've changed offices 2x already & Im ready to move once again.
I cannot stop laughing about the cake. I would be pissed too. Thank you for the advice, I was thinking of joining KW, but now I think differently about them.
Glad I can help, thanks for watching.
I left Keller Williams for the same reason. The worst office I have ever joined. They do not care about you.
your local office may not have cared about you, but there are few companies that care about its people like KW.
When Agents send you thank you cards and come in to talk to you to thank you for changing their lives, youre doing something right
Hindsight is always 20/20. What are the questions you would have asked yourself should you have the knowledge you currently have?
So funny you ask that, I just recently put a list together of all the questions I would have asked. I'm going to do a video about it.
Chastin J. Miles Wow! What a funny synchronouscity! I'll keep a look out for that upload! Great content:)
So sorry for your bad experience in that office. However, in my office in Stamford CT is the BEST. Rick and Steve are in my opinion the best office managers in the market centre.
KW here in AZ is Phenomenal for FEES, FEES, FEES...just like your office. After about 9 months i too left KW as i was convinced they make no money selling homes but rather hiring 80 agents in an office and FEE'ing the sh!t out of them to make money.
yep! Gotta make their money some kind of way!
If you are in palm beach county Coldwell Banker at the Wellington and the Boynton Beach Office offer a lot of training and you do not pay for copies. Check them out if you are still looking for another broker to work for.
I'm in Dallas.
I'm 4 years late.. but the cake story took me out. So happy to see you thriving and doing well.
That's exactly why I didnt go with them. As a new agent you have all these fees. Like you said copies too that's crazy. I concur and click like on this one
Thank you! Yeah those fees add up quickly!
Which brokerage do you recommend for new agents?
I recommend one that fits you! You have to go and interview a few and compare them
Your going to have fees anywhere you go.
That's a lot of money left on the table that you're giving away and the training is not there for new agents or non-existant in most places. trainingmag.com/trgmag-article/keller-williams-home-no-1
If you dont have anything saved up and a penny to your name and you want to get into real estate, you need another job or someone to spot you because there are many fees with everything.
RANT OVER.
I dont blame you. If its not a good fit then find the good fit. And I guess you did. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos man!
I appreciate it
The cake story was hilarious, it made me laugh. I don't blame him I would have left too, how much nerve they had to steal his cake. Was thinking of starting at Keller Williams but maybe not now, I'm a new agent.
Kinda like me with Jackson Hewitt. I just sat at a desk by myself with nothing to do.
Thanks for watching.
I am someone who has been recently asked to meet to discuss “huge opportunity” by a successful real estate agent with this particular company. Even though this video is to explain the dislikes of KW, it doesn’t make me shy away. This is based on personal experience and I admire your honesty.
Yep! I also uploaded a video on my channel about the great things they offer.
Former KW staffer here and this made me crack up! Leadership is everything though.
Thankyou ! The disrespect unfortunately go on alot in this industry. I can relate all to well.
