I think PTCGL is not avaliable in Japan (I think PTCGO too). So Pocket is something that makes sense in that region and the reason only TPCI (Not TPC) brings up PTCGL every once in a while, but TPC ignores it's existence because they are not in charge of PTCGL. Pocket is TPC's project

@@luisguilherme45 that too. The newer generation prefers everything bite sized. Case in point, they can’t watch 20 minutes TH-cam videos because their brains can’t handle that attention span since they are more accustomed to 20 seconds TikTok reels.
I am so hyped for this game. The cards look beautiful and cannot wait to open packs. There is also a new trailer now which you should look at. It covers a new immersive mewtwo card, which looks insane. The trailer also hints about gameplay, total amount of cards in the game, and more. In case anyone is interested, I made a video on my channel summarizing this.

Something I'm curious about is the fact that this will always be digital-only. It seems like there's no intention of printing these cards. Which means can cards be errata'd/buffed/nerfed?

I think the Gold stars mean that you can look into the cards and The other symbol is just normal good rare cards
It'll be what Duel Links is to Yu-Gi-Oh, except for a higher power level than what early Duel Links was. Release sometimes in 2024, we might learn more about it in two days

I think there going to have to have a good long look at LIVE and work out how they can update it better and make it look more polished, why you might ask, well with the new Steller Crown set coming in September, especially on the app version how the heck are we going to have 8 benched Pokémon on the field with the new stadium card!!!
The only solution I would say is that they make the game landscape, like it already is on PC therefore we can actually see the 8 cards on our bench. So Devs you better get to it!
I just do not get it, Live is a 1 to 1 analog of the physical card game, so if it is not in certain regions why are you not trying to make that game better and push it out too more countries, instead of making what looks like a watered down version of the game that I can not imagine a lot of people that already play the game are interested in. Does this have less mechanics and you are trying to get more people, especially kids into the game through something that maybe is easier and less competitive?
It’s duel links for Pokemon also there’s original packs for this so it controls what’s available
I just hope there will be a way to get some of those art cards irl those cards look amazing

Seems like this might be more oriented on collecting and online trading, with those arts and viewing 'inside' that Pikachu card. Pretty much Pokemon NFT. No way they will have 2 fully fleshed out TCG games side by side with different gameplay and different cards.
Unless... they plan the release for this to coincide with some major TCG overhaul at some point in future so they can co-exist with same cards.
There are similarities to crypto NFTs, however The Pokemon Company themselves have completely ruled out NFTs. This isn't crypto, it's a digital collectable card game that will have gameplay (already seen before)
@@ForTheWinTCG Hopefully that's right, maybe just initial similarities in presentation that makes it look like many failed crypto/NFT stuff we've seen past 2 years that raised some flags for me. Will be interesting to see how will this coexist with current TCG. Having 2 TCG games will be awkward.
Wonder if they will print some of these arts but with regular TCG card stats and effects. Will be good marketing for the new game for sure.
I dont see how they could simplify the gameplay, ptcg is already pretty simple as it is compared to other tcg games, also wonder if any cards from the app are going exclusive to in app only and not have any real world counter part(didnt go through the whole video dont know if that part was brought up)
Also too many people comparing this to nfts, boiling it down it's just a game where you login and get a free rewards to keep in your inventory, literally all games, atleast mobile games so this, think gacha, gacha games are not NFTS, I think this whole NFTS and crypto craze have gotten people confused and seeing any snippets of art of some form being a collectible instantly draws their mind to that, if anything so far this just seems like a gacha game, idk why there are so many people saying NFTS and crypto
Believe it or not u don't need to "own" something in a game to play it, I play the Pokemon card game online, is that a nft game? No obviously not, but I don't "own" those cards either, it's just data in a game, so it's the currency and anything else in that game and any other, people jump the gun way too much nowadays.
i wont buy into the crypto like pokemon collecting. I will stick to the actual game.
Bro it's just a game. It's a digital card game no nfts no investing. Honestly it's better than the real TCG because y'all ruined it by treating it like an investment and scalping cards.
FR, a digital version of computer search ace spec costed almost as much as the real thing (about £30-£40) on ptcgo, with insane trades for meta cards (To get an arceus vstar back then people were askinng for atleast 20 packs of a certain set), I am kinda glad PTCGO was shut down for Live as it makes the game accessible to everyone, to play test decks, and looking at this pocket, it looks like a pokemon version of duel links, instead of monster summoning animations, there are instead pokemon illustraitions
Of course, but pocket seems to be just a way to collect cards digitally (not invest in like crypto) and play with them. Like Duel Links & Marvel Snap.

No they don’t because it’s looks like it’s starting completely fresh and they have their own meta. So they are on par with this games power level which isn’t completely overpowered to start
The problem with digital games like this is if you pay money into this and opening packs you get nothing of value in return. Unless they make a good system where you can buy and sell these within the game. Until you allow people to buy and sell digital items, digital items will remain worthless and of no value thus they are a horrible way to spend your money and horrible way to invest money. End of story. Digital game companies would see better success if they would implement real money trading for digital items and goods.
