- In this video I try out the new AI powered DeNoise facility in Lightroom, and then compare it with Topaz DeNoise AI, after seeing how useful the LR version is.

Matt Kloskowski has several videos regarding LR and Topaz de noise.
Thanks, Robert
So far I have only used the manual de noise in LR. Mainly because the photos were not going to br enlarged. I will probably use the LR AI for a few photos that need to be enlarged. Hopefully, the time factor will improve. My computer is also slow with the heavy lifting.
That’s what I’m thinking. It does a good job, but for most landscape images don’t have a noise problem, it’s the theatre ones which may benefit, if needed
Nice presentation Keith. I haven't tried the new LR denoise yet (I don't often have images with noise to worry about). I have got Topaz denoise and if it's anything like Topaz sharpen AI (which I also have) it will work better for some images than alternatives (like LR) and worse for other images. I've also found that (at least for Sharpen AI) some playing around with the settings and options can produce better results than the defaults.
Thanks Ralph. Based on views so far, It’s seems a bit of a niche subject. But I agree there seems to be an element of horses and courses. Like you most of my landscape stuff doesn’t need denoising, but for the theatre stuff it could be quite useful. Certainly I managed to really clean up an image for a client a couple of days ago (with LR AI denoise) far better than I would have been able to do in the past.
