Hi Suni, I'm so glad that Michael captured a rather holistic view of living abroad. A lot of folks from Bequia do have a morbid view of us the diaspora, when we return to visit. We are looked at as money trees with a vast accumulation of wealth, with no concept of the harsh conditions that we endure to be able to make a living. Some of us live much worse than living in Bequia. I know firsthand how several live from paycheck to paycheck, and lives in a place where they are sharing Bathrooms kitchen and have to live very Austere lives.
I agree wholeheartedly with everything you've said Michael. The majority of Caribbean people have no idea how life is overseas. In the winter you go to work in the dark and return home in the dark. People who manage to go 'home' on holiday have worked very hard to be able to do that so please make them feel 'at home ' 😊
11:25 I've stayed at Friendship Garden Apartments before. For anyone who is staying a short time or even a long time, it's a good choice. You can walk to Friendship Beach or even down to Lower Bay, Princess Margaret or into town. I even see Lubin's green SUV parked in front.
@@rhb7256 If you look at it on Google Maps, it says Friendship Apartments. When you click on the name it will give you the website. The owner Lubin is fantastic & can show you around the island & be your taxi.
Micheal I feel your pain my brother. I encountered its freezing cold, and very hot summers. As I stated previously, I lived in Indiana for 4 years, while I studied at Anderson University. Indiana could be very cold, and snowy: but so too is NY, where I currently reside. Can we really admit, that there is no place like SWEET HOME SVG: Warm and beautiful? Indeed, it is absolutely grievous, when we have to leave her: in search of seemingly, " greener pastures" abroad. Yeah, people do not have the slightest idea, of how hard it is, to make a living in these foriegn countries: ( North America) Generality, is no "bed of roses." Period!! People should not be jealous or envious of anyone, and what he or she had financially accured, while toiling abroad. Yeah Suni Ko, when ever I visite / return home: it will be a pleasure to meet you. Take care, and stay blessed and safe. Thanks for the vid.
