- This was my 19th appearance on a TV game show. Sandi Toksvig hosts the second series of this revival of what was described by its previous host as "The Rolls-Royce of quiz shows".
Fifteen contestants are whittled down to three, and then to one, in this general knowledge showdown. The top scoring contestants return to play each other in the grand final for a £40,000 cash prize.

When did C4 stop using those idents at the intro? They were definitely using them as far back as 2005, didn't know they were still using them by 2014
I don't know exactly but it wasn't that long ago! Maybe 2018 or even sooner.
Sandi is a great host.

Yeah the original series run with William G Stewart was great as there was very little waffle and chatter, just straight on with the questions.

They'll just be getting to the end of Round 2 then............
They kept the same basic rules, but somewhat ruined the title tune and slowed the whole thing down by talking to the contestants. Totally unnecessary and annoying.

Really annoying to have all the adverts left in, especially since they are all years old now!
+Foureyes Sorry about that - the idea of uploading with the adverts in is to make this some sort of 'time capsule' to both the TV and the advertising of the time. I have videos going back to 1999 on this channel and it's always interesting to look back and see what was popular back then.
If they upset you - fast forward about four minutes, or go and make a cup of tea :)
Gary Woodward - You took the time and effort to put this on TH-cam for the benefit of everyone, don't apologise to anybody who doesn't like it. It's your channel, it's entirely up to you if you want to keep the adverts in or not. Anyway, how much effort is it to just skip the video forward slightly?
Oh, interesting. I'd heard they'd revived 1521 but never caught it. i was concerned they might have utterly failed to understand why WGS's worked, and do amazingly silly things like, adding pointless flash, and having ghastly banter with the guests. Glad I was wrong on both counts.
Oh, no, wait, yeah, they made it awful.
Absolute gash. Why bother even going on, it's patronising rubbish that shouldn't be allowed to besmirch the good name of 15-1, of WG Stewart off blessed memory.
