SA Formula 2 / Atlantic racing - Kyalami - 24/04/1982 - Rand Autumn Trophy

1982 South African Drivers Championship race meeting, the Rand Autumn Trophy at Kyalami on 24 April. Drivers taking part included Trevor van Rooyen (Ralt RT4), Bernard Tilanus (March 782), Tony Martin (Maurer MM81), Wayne Taylor (March 802) and a freshly out of retirement Ian Scheckter (March 782). All cars competing in the series used the Mazda 12A rotary engines, which in racing spec provided some 300 BHP. Note that Wayne Taylor was excluded from the final results, moving the successive finishers each up one place.
