I think they designed the Ultra Necrozma fight to throw you off. My "monster hunter" Gallade got fucked on T1 and it nearly steamrolled my whole team. That's a first in over 20 years.
My first fight was luckily in my favor. I used Toxic with my Alolan Muk and let it go down. Switched to my Mawile to tank Photon Geyser while hitting it with Payback. Thanks to Toxic, one lucky crit, and a little bit of Affection luck, surviving on 1 HP, I two-shot it and won with only one 'mon fainted.
Yeah that was a terrifying moment. I got lucky and had a ton of revives and... I think I had two dark types (definitely Incineroar and I think Malamar). Managed to win on attempt 1 but it was definitely hard fought.
Mind you this is still a technically incomplete and weakened Necrozma that hasn’t reached its original peak. Meaning if you fought the pre-injured Necrozma it’d be a very quick game over
I headcanon that a "complete/peak/uninjured" Necrozma is just Ultra by default, prolly has higher base stats, doesn't need to rest after a use of Prismatic Laser, and doesn't need Z-crystals in order to use Light that Burns the Sky

i finally gave up on trying to beat it with my regular team, transfered over my silvally named "Gladion" and kicked his ass into next year. its funny how sometimes gladion wouldn't obey some turns then the next turn a pokemon refresh thing happens like "Gladion dodged the attack in time with your shout" or something. after that happened i brought gladion back to sun tho lol
It eats Suns and possesses Ultra Beasts by turning into a suit of armor. Of course this thing is tough. It's name comes from Greek, Japanese and Latin and forms the name Black Death Prism. Even in Sun and Moom they made it clear Necrozma was death imcarnate. Also we have never officially fought Arceus and this game has taught Competitive players a thing or two about how to utilize Pokemon so with this step up who knows how tough the Pokemon team could make an Arceus fight?
Mega Ray has delta stream, so its on 2x effective. Necrozma also can't use Ice Beam. However, 252 Atk Necrozma-Ultra Outrage vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Rayquaza-Mega: 474-558 (135 - 158.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO Special Ultra Necrozma can kill mega ray with D-Pulse, but it needs a high roll. Edit: Further research suggests a -atk 0 ev in attack UN can still OHKO Mega Ray with outrage, which is funny to me
the theme gives off this epic vibe yet... kinda sad at the same time because you realize this is the climax of the game, everything you did in the game thus far led up to this and it's soon over, one trial, grand trial, and mount lanakila, as well as the elite four, it's almost over, yet... you don't want this to end, this amazing adventure will end soon... we all know that...

**Spoilers** The ultra recon folks talk about how Necrozma/ The Blinding One used to provide both light and energy and how in the their greed they accidentally crippled Necrozma, all of it's light exploded out into ultra space. Some of that light leaked into Alola thanks to its connection to Ultra Space and crystalized into Z-crystals and also the areas saturated in aura that power up totem pokemon. Hence why Necrozma is drawn to Alola. Also Necrozma is basically living in constant pain and no matter how much light it absorbs it cannot keep it or maintain its true form for long thanks to what they did
what i was looking from a remix/cover is feeling powerless, feeling my legs crumble, my eyes blinded by the god of light and my god have you delivered those feelings! 10/10
Excellent remix! I love Pokemon, I love intense battles, and I love heavy metal! This gives me the impression of fightning a Level 100 Ultra Necrozma with a moveset like Photon Geyser, Dragon Pulse, Sunsteel Strike, and Moongeist Beam!

Here's a little tactic for all people trying to beat Ultra necrozma right now. First, get Toxic TM, then find a mimikyu, then do the things you have to do in Ultra megalopolis, place mimikyu in the first slot of your party, let necrozma attack you, because mimikyu has disguise ability, and use toxic. This should drain his health every turn. So you will most likely be left with one or two Pokemon. That's how to easily beat Ultra necrozma. Just trust me it'll work.
The literal only way I got this fucking monster down was by getting off a lucky Toxic and then Revive juggling the rest of the way. There are no words for how hard this thing is, but good god damn is the music good. It's not quite Dark Souls, though. *masochism intensifies*

I normally get uber salty when I lose in Pokemon single-player, but when my entire team sans Primarina got one-shotted into Oblivion by this fella... I couldn't even be mad. It was so fucking awesome. And then I came back and killed it in like three turns lmao. Arbok with Focus Sash uses Glare, Salazzle pops Dragonium Z, Rotom loves me and lets me do it again, EZ game.
