Buy that man a cigar! That old guy who bought the Vette had the sense to know that time stops for no one. Our time here is limited by the years and physical fitness. I'm an old guy now too but still feeling frisky, and I know that we have to strike at those unfulfilled goals while we still can. Good Luck!
When I was 18, I was looking for a car. I went with my mom to a dealership. The salesman had me sit in a pick up and start the engine. Then he lifted the hood and had my mom look at the engine. I shut the engine off and got out to look at it. As soon as I got out, the salesman shut the hood. I always thought that he was trying to hide something about that pick up. Needless to say, I bought something else. When you mentioned having the customer look at the engine from an angle, it reminded me of this.
If I can't see the engine straight on but only at an angle I'd walk from buying, on that alone. I need to see a vehicle on every angle with everything.
I sold cars new Pontiacs and GMCs from 97-99. It was a job I got after college until I could get a job in my field of study. I learned a lot in those couple of years. The biggest things that helped me sell cars was know what you’re selling. People will not buy a car from you if you don’t know anything about because if you are not familiar with the car you are trying to sell, how can you convince someone it’s a great car for them if you don’t know anything about it. The other key is be sincere. Don’t prejudge anyone or think they can’t afford the car they are looking for.
I started my relationship with my MB dealer for my wife’s cars with one simple call. I said i want something with 4 doors, AWD, heated seat and wheel and hands free suite. Show me what you have that meets those specs. And let me take the car home to show the wife. She doesn’t care for the dealer experience so I bring them home for her to check out and then we figure out color. Works perfectly every time.
Sold cars for just a little while and made stupid money back when dealers made the new guy work from open to close and I wish they had half of your common sense. I am so glad you have Julie, she’s easy on the eyes and that doesn’t matter on the phone but she’s a very smart saleswoman and at the end of the day it’s not the looks that sells a vehicle but the knowledge and smarts to weave the love into their lives of what it means for the customer.
All I care about in a car salesman/woman is honestly. More times than not, I know more about the car I’m trying to buy because I have researched it or owned every generation of it. I don’t care if you’re wrong or don’t know the answer. I can find it or you can find it for me. Don’t lead me astray with finances or try to upsell me crap. BE RESPONSIVE!! I Switched from Audi (bought 4 cars from dealer) because the salesman didn’t call me back within a week so went to MB and have since bought 4 new cars from that dealer. I’m loyal if you are. I’ve bought 3 new wranglers and 4 MB from the same 2 dealerships and they both also get my factory service business.
You Nailed it, The other day i was at the Bank, Guy who looked to be in his early 70's came out, walked with a cane, got into what looked to be a New Silver C-8 Corvette, was a little bit of a struggle for him to get in, but when he left and headed up the road, think he knew i was watching, he made it talk, either had a paddle shift or just ran it through the gears manually, That guy is still loving life for sure. Guessing he figured there won't be any Armored Truck at his Funeral
I went to purchase a new car in the early 2000s the salesman kept trying to push a 5 speed on me I explained to him I cannot drive a straight gear he said no problem I will teach you so he took me into the mall parking lot behind the dealership and proceeded to teach me how to drive it that was the best salesman I ever came across I ended up purchasing the vehicle
Been super busy and havent had time to catch any of the new formated videos in the new shop. I love it rob! So glad to see you doing well and still giving amazing advice!
Laughed out loud with the mans pedal bit, but my niece had to teach her boyfriend how to drive her manual car, it cost her a new clutch & her sanity, but he eventually got it, thanks Rob, Rj in Oz
I started selling Chevys in 1992. A couple of the salesmen were old school salesmen from the late 70s and 80s. The guys that gave car salespeople a bad name. 😆
That all the more reason why ide bought it! My Jeep is manual and every vehicle I’ve owned has been but two! Those vehicles I didn’t keep long haha manuals so much more fun to drive in my opinion! ❤❤❤ love you Rabbit god bless you enjoy heaven my friend ❤😊
My first experience on a used car lot was mid '80s. GM car lot, but had a "80 Ramcharger SE, 360, 4BBL, AC, PW. Last year for pop tops. Head salesman, greeted me on the lot, and was telling me" you don't want that pile of crap", but I did.. Pointing out new Chevs. Couldn't be bothered to go on a test drive. So he sent out a young salesman, I bought it, and made sure to tell management that young guy deserves all commission. Jump ahead almost 40 yrs, bought a used '15 Powerwagon off a Ford lot. First salesman, I didn't like, pushing me to a F350. Second time doing a drive by, different sales guy, greets me, lets me test drive, he didn't have clue about all the PW features. Just saying a deal was struck. Don't tell me what I want, you are only going to piss me off. And she is a cutie pie.
If you ever have a time where you have to take some downtime read Lao Tzu and Zhuang Tzu you can even get them in graphic novel form I think you would like them but also have your mind blown by them but I also think you could also benefit health and stress wise from some Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan probably Chen style because I think that you need the most martial form of Tai Chi to stay interested in it to get the health benefits from it but remember it is a joint locking art not a striking art more like judo or aikido not like karate or muay thai but it goes slow to get the technique so give it time
I used to flip cars a few years ago as I got outta college. I didn’t buy anything unless it was immaculate and could sell itself because I know I’m no salesman. My personality is: don’t waste my time, are buying this thing or not?
I'm rooting for Julie while your gone. The Chic knows a ton about cars. No disrespect by saying chic. But I believe the RUC is in good hands while your gone!
Part 2: Read your customer, and match your presentaion to the customer! The video is the approach for the quiet reserved older customer. The customer who is energetic , and can't hardly sit down for 10 seconds, you liven up the presentation of the vehicle.
Sold cars for 37 years, a great salesperson is a chameleon. You have to quickly adapt to different personalities. Make it like an intimate little party. Start closing, you only have 8/10 seconds to sell yourself when you meet. Never worked a day in my life. Eat sleep and breathe the car business and it will be very lucrative in return.
avg guy buying that car isn't going to care about BFG35's or if it has tilt wheel. I would ask about the build specs of the 347 stroker motor. What's the cam specs? Is it forged? HP? What diffs are in it? What gears does it have? 4spd/5spd? Is there any modern touches? I don't care about cargo space specs or if it has new carpet. I would want to know how old the bodywork was done and if any reputable shops built it. What kind of paint is on it and if it's 2stage. The gas cap I would be interested in, as I might not notice it unless I bought it of course.
Actually the average guy does not know engine internals. They do know a 347 Stroker motor is a hi performance engine. The ones that do know are usually building not buying.
Statement pieces are a thing for sure. I drive a Crown Vic dressed up as an Umbrella Corporation car, everyone knows the car, nobody recognizes me in my other vehicles.
Love the Video Rob. OK i'm gonna bite right now. I like that red pickup behind you, where can i see more pics of it??? and No i'm not asking how much yet???

It was prob a 4 bangerand he was telling your mom how safe it was and didn't want you to see how small it was it prob sounded bigger lol

I am loving that Yoo-Hoo cooler chilling on top of the Bug.

Your right great sales person right there! 😊
5:26 only down side to that is you have to open the boot everytime you want to fill the car. Some things should be left sometimes
Been super busy and havent had time to catch any of the new formated videos in the new shop. I love it rob! So glad to see you doing well and still giving amazing advice!
Only thing to look forward to on a rainy monday morning is a RUC video. The place looks great!
Corvette story gave me the goosebumps! Julie is learning from one of the best!
Laughed out loud with the mans pedal bit, but my niece had to teach her boyfriend how to drive her manual car, it cost her a new clutch & her sanity, but he eventually got it, thanks Rob, Rj in Oz
"We sell investments"....what a bad ass line !!🙌🙌
Rest In Peace 7:18
I missed a lot of the details because I was distracted the whole video . . . .
. . . by that Yoo-Hoo cooler. I need it.
Always heard and said it as "never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul. You're can't take it with you"
Words of wisdom from a pro. 👍👍
Rabbit ‘bout to hop on it!
Hahaha
Good morning Rob...hope all is well !
I started selling Chevys in 1992. A couple of the salesmen were old school salesmen from the late 70s and 80s. The guys that gave car salespeople a bad name. 😆
That fuel cap looks fantastic but wouldn’t their be a risk of fuel Vapors building up in the bed ? Beautiful truck though.
This... was a very informal video. I hope we can get a part . 2 to this🙏🙏🙏
SHe's adorable... and cute (the sales person... and the Bronco)
Listen up kids, class is in session.

Rest in peace legend

I’ve always wanted to sell a car or two as a side hustle. Great video!
Well said Rabbit 🤓🇺🇸👍 VERY TRUE …
"Nice ones!"

Already Sold bud. Catch them first on the FB page and IG
Is Julie bolt single ???
When is Julie selling cars? Good walk around. If I can get the floor mats thrown in , will you take the car today? 😊
New girl is easy on the eyes for sure. But I'm betting she is dang smart and a good salesperson or Rabbit would not have hired her.
I look at the bronco being booger picking green... My joke is.." If you were a booger I would pick you first".. joke joke.. just having fun
RIP Rabbit
Easy on the eyes aye Rabbit?
I think Julie bolt is gonna be great there she’s got the ambition and she knows cars good job rabbit 👏 and congratulations Julie
Bro I have not seen that movie Matilda in years.
Julie is gorgeous!
I'm sure there are nice comments that also pass as mildly inappropriate
Without sounding like a chauvinistic pig.. I don’t think you could have got a hotter sales associate!! Lol.. Stay blessed @Rabbit !!
I like when a woman knows about cars and trucks

You, are the only one who cares.
Man pedal vs tranny two pedal! My dad taught me stick at 11. I was sneaking cars out at 13!!
