Garrett Greene is from my hometown when he was a sophomore my cousin wanted me to take him to a game he was playing in. For context the high school he went to (Chiles High School) was the laughing stock of Tallahassee football for over a decade. Not only did they dominate this game, but I watched Greene warm up at the half and shoot it 65 yards downfield like it was nothing. I will be the first to say distance is not even close to the most important attribute in a qb, but he was quick with his throws and his reads were on point all night. Growing up in tallahassee I've seen a lot of big name qbs play in person Jameis Winston, Deondre Francois, Ej Manuel, BJ Daniels, Tim Tebow, and Felipe Franks are just some examples. Greene was towards the top of guys I saw play in high school. I was surprised he didn't start sooner.
Most people that over look Greene don't consider that WVU is not a pass happy offense right now. They like to control the ball with mostly run plays. Plus WVU was playing with a 50/50 group of receivers. Some were just learning and some had experience. They dropped a lot of passes. So it is really unfair to decide Greene's ability to pass the ball because of those factors. As far as height is concerned, that is what every sports analyst says about WVU players. They always claim WVU players are small. Yes they are not Sasquatches like the players in Big 10 and SEC. You don't have to be a gaint to play football. aka little league. Its a game. Look at Doug Flutie, Baker Mayfield, Johnny Football. I think Greene will have his best year this year.
The receiving vote was night and day better by the end of the season. Most of those drops happened early on, and Frankly a lot came from Devin Carter our number one receiver
You should cover the story of Joey Aguilar who was playing at the junco level than transferd to play for app state and became the starter when Ryan burger the starter got hurt in the first game of the season and then he went on to throw over 30 tds in his first Season and now is the star player for the mountaineers
I commented on that video last year telling you your take was awful and not to sleep on GG. The only ppl that weren't overlooking GG were fans and those close to the program. Soo yea, told ya. Lol
The kid couldn't complete 53% of his passes against a big twelve that barely plays defense. He's a hell of an athlete. That's it. He's properly rated by being largely unknown.
West Virginia was 8-4 and is not on the radar because West Virginia hasn't won any games in a long time and none under Neal Brown.... Penn State fan said the difference between West Virginia's last game compared to their next game will be Penn State's QB will show up... Penn State said they only need to play on 1st & 2nd downs ...Greene & WVU will self implode on 3rd and long during a game... Neal Browns team always starts out slow.... Penn State 45 to WVU's Neal Browns average against good teams 17 points ..... Greene's numbers will not be good and could be hurt for the rest of the season. Greene is good but not a difference maker.
@@si018 no, no ... Ate Will will score but Greene needs to spread the scoring to multiple names... not just Ate Will. State Penn is ripe to be scored upon , that dude Ego has created and edge for those who are looking for one... I am not Saying Neal Brown's coaching leads to taking advantage of such players weakness but other coaches like Ohio State / schools will. Dream big or live small... Lets GOOOO!! Mountaineers!!
What underrated QB should I cover next?
Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro From Iowa
Sebastian Castro Iowa
Bahren Mortan
Will Howard
Garett Greene saved West Virginia last year. Lets hope it will continue this year.
Appreciate the video! GG is a special player and has the potential of having a top 5 season as a QB.
Been fun watching him mature the last few years. Super excited for this year 💛💙
What a great video. Hope GG continues to get better🤙💪
College football is better when teams like WV, Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Pitt are good
They should be playing each other + PSU, MD on a regular basis. JMO.
Boy was I wrong on him but I hope he continues that big leap🎉🎉
He is pretty solid, he was my HS QB for a year.
Thank you nice of you to say that about a fabulous young man.
HS got that right. GG like NB way over his head at WVU.
Garrett Greene is a fucking beast and it was obvious the second he went in that’s what the team needed
Calling Snirf a beast is insulting to a real beast.
@@pitchshot2868 did you mean Snarf ? Were you trying to make a ThunderCats reference and butchered it ?

Now this is good content
as a wvu its important to point out that last season we didnt have a solidified wr group until mid season and Jaheim white came out of nowhere
I'll take DOUBLE G over ANY another D1 QB in America!!!
He is good but let’s not forget his center blocking him. He plays for the Steelers now

Garrett won several awards at Payton's camp just a couple weeks ago !! We coming!! WVU goes 10-2 and goes to the Playoffs imo!!!
I like Greene and was excited when he committed but he needs to work on throwing accuracy. In my opinion he has all the other tools to be a success
Might be the White Pat White lol! Wish him luck
What do I think of GG? Dark horse Heisman candidate.
Absolutely
He will be next Joey B
Troy is located in Troy, Alabama. Not mobile, its probably a typo. I could've misunderstood
Sure hope he’s good
Now make a video of Sawyer Robertson (Baylor)
Troy is in Troy AL my dude lol
Aint none of them better then pat white
Meanwhile , the Ben Schwartzwalder Memorial Trophy rests safely in the Syracuse University Trophy case....
Yes I think he's very good. But don't forget he can best you with his legs.
Tbh he should have stuck it out with baseball. More money and better quality of life afterwards.

👋
After the fiasco last nite against ISU, I'd say he is NOT underrated, has moments, some plays hes uses his legs, but not underrated.

he stinks
Terrible take lol. Nico was badddd
What are u talking about? He's BY FAR the most improved player this off season for wvu. Ask anyone who follows it. Nicco will be fine
@@si018 he is not a good passer yet
