About the album:
Surrealistic Pillow is American rock band Jefferson Airplane's second album. It is the first album by the band with vocalist Grace Slick and drummer Spencer Dryden. Certified Gold by the RIAA, Surrealistic Pillow peaked at number three on the Billboard album chart.
Lyrics:
One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you, don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call
And call Alice, when she was just small

This song is criminally brief so good though
agree but i think the brevity is very apt - like the flashes of insight from a trip melting away just after its peak . . .
At the opposite end of the spectrum there are songs that are "criminally" too long. Examples: "Hey Jude" (Beatles), "Isn't She Lovely" (Stevey Wonder) and "I'm Your Captain" (Grand Funk Railroad). In fact, "I'm Your Captain" seems longer than a 150-car BNSF double stack train moving at 20 mph.
Jefferson Airplane had breakout songs. This does not have multiple stanzas with the repetitive chorus. Amazing this was on the airwaves for that time!

Time to break free!! , Jennifer Christine lamprecht, wish I took your offer to burn ourselves alive while holding me tightly in loves embrace , before you got pregnant with our child.
End the wheel of birth and death , a quote mgmt little dark age ,the engines failed again , all Units of disguise.
This quote is both objective and subjective, has metaphysical aspects that apply to the wheel of birth and death , to power in politics , the physical necropolis of old wealth families freezing economies, progress above all else all forward motions spirituality and mentally in the name power and control.
They manipulate the sphere , use complex equations they claim to be magic far beyond comprehension, shadows shifting in the of opulence.
The lack of accessible culturally attainable goals and well paying jobs, create deviance such Russia , Cambodia, and the explosion of horrors which was Germany WW2 , as another old wealth child we do speak of his linage and cannot trust history for any connections to old wealth would be wiped as a disgrace and dishonor , leaving it always a mystery. ( Horrible man from what we can tell )
When deviance and treacherous intentions becomes prevalent in old wealth here in the west because of empathy for the tattered masses, lack of reform , action , "so to say "you get the same spark as in the winter revolution in czarist Russia.
It's time we just walk away , from black magic , from slavery , from ties of greed or power of all sorts , never look behind you be fearless.
Weather a toxic relationship or a arrange marriage just say fuck it , it's time we control our own fates as human beings.
Voiceless no more!
No butterfly's backwards , a ripped contract in celebrities hands , even actions have a reaction no matter how small.
Time to break free !!!! Yay have fun ! Be crazy and don't listen be yourself , their engines of shadows will shut down,
All units of disguise in the wheel of birth and death.
GO GRACE ! WHAT A GREAT VOICE !!!
If there was a song that defined the entire decade of the 60's, this would be it.
Really ? Interesting ppl who lived back then are true relics
I am in my late 60s and remember when this song was new. It blew peoples minds. It was unlike The Beatles or beach boys or Motown, it was out there, musically, lyrically, philosophically. Here we are five decades later, and it is still mind-boggling. Well written, yet dark and alluring, kind of like the drugs that inspired it.
I've heard this on sooooo many films and always forget to look it up. Thank you babysitter killer queen for the reminder.
