"Sometimes that Shark looks at ya. Right in the eyes. And the thing about sharks. He's got black eyes. Doll eyes. Lifeless eyes." Quint, Jaws And honestly that fits the Meg. You see those eyes. You get the feeling nothing can really stand up to it.

Cannot wait until the Triassic sea titans made it unto the wider audience! Who would've thought that Ichtyosaur related marine reptiles have the potential to be the biggest macro predator to ever live. Making the 25 metre long predatory marine reptile similar to the WWD Liopleurodon to not be just a mere imagination.
I dislike, megalodon is more closely related to Lamnids than Carcharhinids but that said, this isn't really tiger shark like either and has the signature lamniform pointed snout.
That's a very cool animation as it emerges from the hatchery, the camerawork really suits it. I like the pattern! Lovely mix of natural and vibrant colours
Megalodon was much larger than a Mosasaurus irl. Megalodon 60 plus tons average. Largest estimates was up to 160 tons and 82 ft. Mosasaurus might I have reached 50 ft but the weight was much less around 10 tons to 16 tons. Maybe 30 tons at best.
Though some Mosasaurus and Tylosaurus fossils are put them to blue whale size, but the remains are fragmentary so can't be considered accurate until much more research is done on them
Though there are some very fragmentary fossils of Mosasarus and and Tylosaurus that suggest they could have grown to the size of a blue whale, but it is very debated due to the fragmented state of the fossils that could even be different animals all together until more research is done
Could you show me some source to confirm those larger estimates? Cause the largest estimates I've seen are around the 60-65 foot range. Never have I heard of an 82ft megalodon being brought up
Honestly my favorite thing about evolution 2 is t(e sound of the dinosaurs. I love to just sit and listen to them. That low rumble from the meg was amazinggg
I don't know if anyone noticed this, but the Meg's tail hits the shark on the way back down after eating it. It's such a tiny detail, and a fantastic one.
The shark feeder animation, I like how it's tail thwacks the remains of the shark still attached to the feeder as it re-enters the water after breaching. Also the breakout animation, it almost looks like it's using the wall to remove some sort of skin parasite.
7:08 sharks don’t role their eyes back, they move a protective film over the eye. Most animals have the protective film, which is called the third eyelid.
Love this megalodon being one of my favorite Prehistoric sharks frontier did not disappoint with this im hyped to see this beast in Jurassic world evolution 2 tomorrow 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤🦖🦈
And so it begins... Yay!!!! The music is soooo dope, reminds me the Megalodon segment in Sea Monsters. Love how accurate it is, very long, thick head, long fins. Dope. The frikin Polaris breach.
I really like how the Meg slaps the hanging tail of the GW after it rips off the body, like a dolphin playing with a toy. Was it just a matter of timing? Probably, but I like to think it was an intentional bit of personality.
It looks great! Some fantastic little details in the animations, and the design is really nice. Definitely feels like a real shark, without being a copy+paste of any modern shark. I like it a lot
I hope we get these 3 things in 2024 before the end. What do you guys think? I put less dinosaurs, because there are alot of other amazing animals throughout Prehistory. For a sleeping animation in the marine creatures (I wish) I’d like to see the Megalodon somehow turn upside down and it falls asleep for like 20 seconds
Does anybody know a fix for a visual Bug. My lagoon water is full of squares. Its like you can see the sharp edges from the squares on the water surface. Anyone else have this?
I do think the final DLC will be a Cenozoic Pack, they’ve still got Smilodon to add, & I do think Cenozoic fauna will be a central focus in the next game.
Yeah, if Frontier can fit megalodons in the game. Then surely they can fit smilodons into the game along with other Cenozoic creatures. Since the megs are the only creatures from the Cenozoic era in the game, I feel they should add at least four more species from that era
I know we probably won’t get anymore dlc but if we do I hope we get another Marine only pack, but it would have a wide variety in size and shape. My four picks are: Livyatan, Ammonite, Anomalocaris, Perucetus Colossus
Maybe if we get another DLC like that of a Mantah Corp. Island DLC we could get new skins and new genomes like a Lux Pattern for the Megalodon. I agree that the Archelon needs to be hunted by some of the carnivorous marine creature.
I do appreciate that they stuck with the “all the animals in Jurassic Park are female” theme by not giving the meg claspers. Which is a trait found in only male sharks.
anyone know how to fix camera drift in sandbox? literally happens every few minutes of moving around and its just too annoying to play rn for me. I know pressing esc stops it temporarily but every few minutes is annoying as hell.
The first intro showed us of the meg here is me favourite that one quite the entrance as cant see it for brief moment but we end up seen moment under the water from above water view that was incredible and then get that deep bass of size of the meg then we visually see it brilliant camera angle nicely done
The Megalodon looks pretty epic, the music is super fitting and is a nice homage to Jaws lol, The animation if it breaching is awesome too, it looks the animation team studied the Air Jaws footage from Shark Week.
It's a safe design. I was hoping it would look a bit more exaggerated like a lot of Jurassic creatures. An example would be the Giganotosaurus from Frontier compared to the Dominion version.
The spots on the patterns remind me of something I heard about the Megalodon. Something about people thinking it may have looked like a beefy whale shark with big teeth 😅
the jump out of the water makes it feel lighter, like it almost floats through the air, i think if it was slightly faster, or even if only the fall back down was it would feel heavier like it should.
I'm not surprised that megalodon would be able of moving its gums like moderns sharks do. Megalodon is still a pretty Modern animal, only going extinct about 5 million years ago or so, which isn't that long relatively speaking, many modern species already existed at that time
Out of the four I am more interested in Thanatodrakon, but I'd be lying if I said that Megalodon doesn't take the cake given how utterly spectacular it is. Kinda hoped that you'd put it against the Dunkleosteous. But I'll check that out myself.
Personally, and this is just the shark nerd in me. I wish they had made a colorization that made the Meg albino. Which would have been a fun little nod to the Meg novels. Not paleo-accurate, but a fun nod to the books.
I thought the reason shark eyes roll backwards was because of their jaw jutting outwards to catch prey, since their eyes are located very close to the mouth. Like how frogs have to blink to swallow.
Theres been a few questions about the coral rocks - they are mods unfortunately, i entirely forgot they arent part of the default game or I wouldnt have uses them 😅 only the kelp is a new lagoon decoration!

Having the Meg in the game (officially) feels like a dream, amazing stuff.
You should def give the game a try. It's fun, very beginner friendly park management game, and goes on sale every now and then!
The base game is free through Game Pass
I think the game is on sale on PlayStation right now if you wanted to give it a try!
You should get it it's a great game
The u can use more immagination, megalodon is always illustrate like a White shark , but in real Life was more related to whale shark in anatomy
Megalodon vs Megalodon, Liopleurodon and Elasmosaurus are the best animations it has. But man that shark feeder animation is killer

It protects their eyes from their prey such as seals which have sharp teeth and could do a lot of damage to a shark’s eye.
