      thanks ☺️ I would prefer bugfixing (like, fixing LFO timing and MIDI Clock sync issues, making the “HPF” a real HPF rather than a shelving EQ, fixing analog dry path issues) and some added basic features (LFO/sequencer restart via MIDI command and via pressing tap tempo footswitch once; looper undo/redo; looper punch in/out smoothing; enable/disable MIDI clock per preset) over a commission 😎

    This is is a truly awesome demo. Congratulations! I’ve spent a long time trying to convince myself I don’t “need” this pedal. And this has undone that!! And will be downloading your patches! Thanks!
    Question; as a guitarist who has got into synths and groove boxes in recent years. I have the rytm mkii and am trying to learn/ingrain the workflow - how have you achieved that so perfectly? And are the beats you have featured here been self made and sequenced or have you downloaded/ bought them, if so from where?

    • @TheGuacamoleXplosion
      @TheGuacamoleXplosion  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thx; I bought the RYTM like two and a half years ago and spend a lot of time learning its functionality inside out. I started my journey into sequencing back in 1986 with a Roland 606, and then went Cubase 1990/91 on an Atari ST; so I’ve had some time to learn how to recreate what I hear using various machines. Every RYTM beat in this vid is self-made, using partly internal sounds (bass is the RYTM Dual VCO), partly drum samples from the Producers Choice Organic Drum Pack (which I bought; all single drum hits, no loops used), plus a few samples of classic drum machines that can be downloaded for free on the internet.

That is truly impressive, you are one of the few I see on TH-cam that has utilised the power of RYTM outside of dance and techno and done so incredibly tastefully and with great thought and attention to detail. • @TheGuacamoleXplosion
      @TheGuacamoleXplosion  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Collider does reverb and delay simultaneously. LVX cannot do that. Well, you can get some in-between-delay-and-verb sounds with the Polymoon engine, but not really delay + reverb. About the Möbius, depends on how you are using it ... I could get everything I need modulation-wise from the LVX, so I would keep the Collider and ditch the Möbius for the LVX. But as always, YMMV.

    Why did you make this video? I didn't want to buy nothing... I was happy with my Timeline... Now I'm suffering.... I need to buy it... =D XD

    • @TheGuacamoleXplosion
      @TheGuacamoleXplosion  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well ... I was semi-happy with the Timeline for 12 years, now I finally found something to replace it 😀
      But honestly, there is a few things Timeline still does better than the LVX in firmware 1.1:
      1. It has looper undo/redo (when used with an external MIDI controller). LVX doesn’t have that (yet).
      2. Timeline looper has smoothing of in/out points: There’s an ultra-short fade in when you're starting a recording or starting overdub, and an ultra-short fade out when you’re exiting overdub or stopping the looper. LVX doesn't have that (yet), hence you can get quite some clicky noises.
      3. Timeline has a MIDI CC for phase reset, which, I believe, resets the internal modulation LFO. I never used it, since resetting the Timeline LFO is not very interesting. Resetting the LVX LFO when in square mode, or even more resetting the LVX sequencer, would be very interesting though; like, sync rhythmic stuff to an external beat (like drummer, or drum machine); but alas, not available. Yet.
      4. Timeline has two more knobs, thus quicker direct access to more fixed parameters (LVX on the other hand gives you two user-definable knobs per preset, which I prefer).
      5. Timeline has a nice ducking delay. LVX envelop modifier could in theory do ducking, but it is buggy, doesn't really work for ducking (yet), I tried hard.
      6. Timeline ICE delay has a very nice and specific sound. You can get close with the LVX in POLY mode with octave up & down modulation, or by putting a Pitch module in the delay’s feedback loop, but you cannot fully replicate ICE (which as I understand it doesn't work with pitch shifting, but with altered speed multiple playback of delay taps).
      7. Timeline can do programmable stereo boost of up to +3dB of the full signal in the analog domain. LVX can only do unity gain on analog level (boosting with the digital Preamp emulations is possible, though).
      8. Timeline will keep its analog dry path no matter whether you put the looper pre or post delay engine (which effectively equals the PRE+DRY and POST MIX positions on the LVX). When you put the Looper in PRE+DRY or POST MIX, or when you activate spillover, you will lose the analog dry path on the LVX.
      9. Timeline’s current firmware allows switching sync to MIDI clock on/off per preset. Great for slapback or faux reverb presets which you don’t want to sync to any BPMs, but to remain at fixed ms values. LVX main delay engine doesn't have this option yet.
      10. LVX still has some bugs. They include timing instabilities of the LFO: With certain modules active, a LFO set to quarters subdivisions will run significantly faster, or slower, than the current BPMs. Other users have reported problems when syncing the LVX to external MIDI Clock, I haven't tried that yet.
      11. Timeline has 200 presets. I actually never needed more than 50. On the LVX, which has only 100 presets, I already made like 80 presets ... the LVX could actually use 200, having a much wider sonic palette than the Timeline.

    • @EderPr

    • @TheGuacamoleXplosion
      @TheGuacamoleXplosion  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Other than e.g. Strymon Timeline, Eventide H9 and Line 6 HX One, the LVX doesn’t have an FX Loop mode where the right input & right output are being re-purposed as loop return & send. On the Timeline, the FX Loop is a feedback loop (while on H9 & HX One, it is only a way to use the pedal in two different places in the signal path); most of the things that you can do with that loop - like, put a filter/eq pedal or a modulation pedal inside - are possible already with onboard modules on the LVX, so me, I don’t really miss that functionality.
      I haven't checked how fast the two on-board LFOs of the LVX can go. But there is a dedicated Ring Mod effect in the modulation section.

    wow dude...are all these patches made by you? custom or standard (coming of the the box sounds)?

      There is not a single un-edited factory preset in this video. I made most of the patches starting rather from scratch; a few are also factory presets with some significant changes. There’s one factory preset that I used with only minor changes, that’s “DISPOSITION”: I made it faster to match the BPMs of the original song (Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap) and gave it more stereo width.

    You should make a video with new patches

      What do you mean? The video is like 97% selfmade patches, not factory ones. You want more of these? Well, at some point, I will have enough new ones to make a new video. But it will take a while ... I made the patches in this vid mostly during 2 weeks of summer holidays, don’t have that much time normally 🙂

      @@TheGuacamoleXplosion yeah I meant a new video once you come up with some cool patches and stuff. I should’ve been more specific lol but I loved the video! You definitely gave me some new ideas once my pedal comes in tomorrow

    L’outil idéal pour les guitaristes avec un très faible niveau technique et une inspiration peu élevée 😢
