A's fans love the team, but hate the ownership
The chant "Let's go Oakland!" sends chills down my spine. It's the chant I grew up hearing in the 80's and 90's. Let's go Oakland!
Are you telling me you stop after the 2000s?
Yeah but pathetic comment though!
Fans showed up today but where were they for years!? How dumb are they? Also, show up yet the owner screw you guys by moving go out of Oakland without trying hard to stay. Must be some idiot fans!

SCREW JOHN FISHER SAVE THE A’S
3 peat(72, 73, 74), Dallas Braden’s perfect game on Mother’s Day, Sean manaea no hitter, 1989 sweeping the giants and ruled the bay, Rickey’s stolen base record, bash brothers, and the moneyball movie. Man there will never be anything more historic than Oakland baseball.
Damn, you for beating my Miracle Mets in 1973. Yogi Berra should’ve rested Tom Seaver for game #6, (instead of having him pitch on 3 days rest)
A fitting send off for the Oakland Athletics. Thank you for everything you’ve done for this game. 😢
John Fisher and Rob Manfred ruined baseball in the Bay Area!
Very sad day in professional sports.
It brings me to tears, and I'm not even an A'S fan.
My dad was a Brooklyn dodger fan. There are kids right now who will never forget what Fisher did

Feel bad for Oakland fans. Greedy billionaires at it again sadly.
Sorry didn’t deserve a team. A’s should have stayed in Philly! Oakland refused to recognize the great historical teams
what are you talking about? every team owner is a billionaire you dolt.
@IdeayJP24 Democrat Party of Oakland led by Mayor Sheng Thao were forcing John Fisher only worth 3 Billion dollars and 459,000 citizens of Oakland to pay for a $14 billion dollar Stadium. Oakland lost Target Dennys Starbucks Walmart,CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens after they defunded the police for Felon George Floyd 😆 🤣. Las Vegas Stadium cost $1.5 billion. Democrat Party Destroyed Oakland. Fisher wont force Oakland citizens to pay extra $445 increase in taxes. Instead Vegas citizens will pay increase of $3 for $380 million bond over 30 years. Crime is out of control in Oakland.
Sacramento is gonna be rough for the As during the summer. The stadium will sell out, but that heat is gonna be nasty. And opposing teams are gonna be complaining to high heaven.

I think he gets fired, or resigns, on Monday. This was a big middle finger to John Fisher; Kotsay can't stay with this organization. That being said, I think he did the right thing, and I respect him for it.
As a Giants fan this breaks my heart 😢
Deservedly the most hated owner in baseball.

The fans never supported the team. Blame the fans and the city of Oakland. It’s a awful city with crime and homelessness

I was a huge Athletics fan in the late '80s and '90s despite being from Toronto and primarily a Jays fan. This team rostered my heroes growing up. I'm beyond disgusted with this team's ownership. Oakland fans deserved better. My deepest condolences to the fans in Oakland. Baseball is not just a game, it's about relationships and memories. I'm so sorry you're osing your ball club. It is tragic.
This is as bad if not worse than the “Montreal Screw Job”. I feel so bad for the city of Oakland. This is like the Pirates leaving Pittsburgh for Connecticut… it’s just wrong
I think the A's will either permanently stay in Sacramento or go back to Oakland. Las Vegas is still not a done deal. This could backfire on MLB.
I blame the city of Oakland and the counsel their they had 12 years to get something done they didn’t want to road block after road black I’ve been a fan since I was ten years old been to a lot of games in Oakland 😢sad day never forget Oakland as fan for life the owner could of done better
Smart to play the game in the daytime. Washington Senators played their last game at night and had a riot.
Best jersey in MLB by a country mile
Let this be a lesson to Fans and in particular, Governments everywhere…Sports Teams are not a Public Trust. First the Raiders, then the Warriors, now this and on top of all of that, Oakland has the dubious distinction of being the Home of the first and only In-N-Out Burger Restaurant to close for obvious reasons. The Fans of Oakland are some of the BEST in the World but the City and City Government there is a world class joke. Their incompetence in large part led to the loss of not one but THREE Pro Sports Franchises. Sad Day for the East Bay and they deserve so much better than this.
Why? Because they wouldn’t give tax breaks to billionaires for new stadiums.
@@alwillk the Governments in both Oakland and Alameda County could have easily imposed a “bed tax” similar to what they have done in Seattle and Las Vegas to finance the Stadiums there. With a “bed tax” the tourists (NOT THE RESIDENTS) pay a small tax and all of that money goes to Stadium construction and operating costs. The City Government there is a disaster. The Fans deserve so much better.
No one has crappier or more greedy ownership than the Raiders and the A's. They just happened to also be located in the same city with the same lousy government. Other cities are building new stadiums on the public dime every 25 years now, but Oakland and the owners of those teams couldn't find a way to replace a 57 year old eyesore.
@@alwillkThe city officials wouldn't give the A's any land to use. One proposal was a new stadium on the existing coliseum site, and the city still said no.
It's not the city, it's the owner.
damn near crying. oakland, you have ALL the love in the world from houston astros fans.
you will always be the oakland a’s to us.
As a Dodgers fan, this tears me up. This is just sad, the A’s belong in Oakland.
Same with the Raiders…
I am heartbroken . I grew up with the Oakland As in the 70s. My Dad took us to a world series game when they won the series! I went to my final game a few weeks ago. 😢
I will always remember Charley O the mule, the rabbitt that came out of the ground with fresh baseballs, the Championships and cool summer nights watching my A's
Fakest fans of them all! How are you going to be sad about them leaving when none of them ever showed up to games. Don’t give us this fake sob story
There are know it alls who say the fans are at fault, but Oakland fans have always had pride from the Days of Raider and A's bearded blue collar misfit championship days and they won't let Fisher pimp them and take their money and time while not investing in the team.
Thank sucks they are going to Las Vegas. Both the mayor and the governor should be shame of themselves.
I remember going to my first A's game when I was 11. There's a sound to the coliseum and it's hard working people. It's a sad sad thing to see the team go.
Man what a franchise. It brings tears to my eyes when I think of what could have been. The A’s, whether you agree or not, had a bright past and a bright future. You can’t replace what this franchise accomplished, and you can’t replace the fans that were there for them every step of the way. Oakland has became a lost cause, something that people don’t care about anymore, but they can’t ignore just how much the green and gold meant to Oakland. At some point the colosseum, the heart of Oakland, will be demolished as the A’s move out of it; their home for as long as I can count, which was once was a spirit inducing, storied stadium that encapsulated and defined the spirit of Oakland, will be gone with the wind. You can replace the Athletics, but you can never replace the Oakland Athletics. Long live green and gold.
Rip Oakland athletics. Gone but never forgotten
Grew up going to the games. Sad day for Oakland.
Baseball is a beautiful game
Hate the fact $$$$$ ruins it
Rob Menfred needs to be ashamed of himself to let this happen
John Fisher, Dean Spanos hand to hand worst owners.

Reggie Jackson was going to buy the team but bud selig made sure he couldn't buy it because he is black and they didn't want a black owner. Reggie talks about it in a interview
Screw them for moving out yet you showed up today but never this much fans before. What a clown!
I feel terrible for that city. This is just not the right thing to do. The mayor said it the fans said it the owners could have done a lot more to stay in Oakland. These people aren’t poor just pay for it yourself.

@@Adam18893 It's not market size. Vegas has a smaller market than Oakland, and 40th TV market in the USA (smallest for sports). A's will be in the playoffs in Sacramento next year. The rebuild is finished.
F@ck you! Bag on your own town, but not mine. See how well the residents of Vegas deal with their civic leaders giving their public money to billionaires.
Yea the politics in Oakland isn’t great, I am from the Bay Area. You got to realize that the city try to work with Fisher and give him Howard Terminal in Oakland. The city wanted him to put half of the cost to build at the terminal but he chooses not to, he gutted the team by trading players that is helping the team because he didn’t want to pay them. The only thing he cares is about making money, not the team. Also, the Commissioner and the other owners gave him the green light and not having a backbone to tell him to spend his money. Instead he want to follow the Raiders to Vegas because its better there, he is also the reason that the Raiders left Oakland due to him not letting Mark Davis have any say on what to do with the colosseum.
@jimbolia1234 $14 Billion for Howard Terminal. Oakland requested funds from. Biden Administration from build Back Better funds in Oct 2022 They Said No! Lol. Oakland voted 87% Biden 8% Trump. Fisher had a choice $1.5 Billion Stadium in Vegas with $380 million tax zone & bond payed ovet 30 years or extra $3 in Taxes pay by tax payer in Vegas or $12-$16 Billion real estate development deal at Howard Terminal payed over 45 years by Tax Payers. & with crime & Homeless Epidemic & sideshows 24 hours a day in Oakland. If you are cheap skate John Fisher do you ask Vegas Citizen to pay $3 tax increase year for a new stadium or demand Oakland Citizen to pay $445 tax increase. Lol. Nobody talks about tax In crease Oakland citizens would be stuck to pay.
Maybe Oakland should elect some moderates???? maybe ?????
So that "moderates" would give welfare millions to a billionaire like Vegas?
So long, Oakland! Thanks for the memories will never always forgotten in Oakland. 👏👍👋. Las Vegas, welcome to baseball.
They don’t deserve an organization with 9 World Series titles and its hall of famers.
Mayor Sheng Thao & Oakland City Council Lost The A's. $14 billion for a stadium in Oakland lol & Vegas $1.5 billion. John Fisher is Cheap. He will take Vegas instead of paying $14 billion dollars for Howard Terminal Stadium.
Maybe that's because *John Fisher* requested a stadium *AND* housing/entertainment district in Oakland on 56 cares (included housing, restaurants, etc.), and in Vegas he requested a stadium ONLY (no housing, etc.) on 9 acres. Fisher never asked for a stadium only in Oakland. He wanted to become a giant land/housing developer along with a stadium in Oakland. That's why the costs were so different.
