More police can result in more minor crimes being prosecuted, which would make the numbers go up a little bit.
Also police funding prevents governments from investing in thing that would actually reduce crime rates. Like: abolishing poverty, providing housing, recreation facilities.

To be fair to the UN, they are only useless in CERTAIN things. They are actually quite effective at dealing with humanitarian aid. Yes they don’t make the problem go away, but millions more people would be dying each year if it weren’t for the UN acting as a neutral aid provider in war zones, or working to reduce the spread of disease

Indian ties go way beyond trade with Russia. Russia had India's back when, both, UK and USA were ready to attack Indian Eastern and Western coasts to support Pakistan in 1971 Indo-Pak war. When India was going through its worst famine and our PM went to USA for help, the NY Times headlined that the beggar leader of 3rd world has come to ask for food, or something along those lines. The point is Russia always had India's back in our worst times. And USA always supported Pakistan against India. So Russia has an immense amount of goodwill. We don't backstab our friends.

At the time of the Palestinian refuge crisis the definition of a Palestinian by the UN was someone living in the area for two or more years cause a significant margin of palestians were immigrants who moved there after the Jews made the area more prosperous. So wording it as the UN voted for Palestinians to return to their land is actually saying to deport them XD.
The British explorers were really surprised how little people lived in the early 1900s. That whole area is very interesting to research and I’d say the my favorite is the nation of Jordan who has a very interesting and overlooked story. It was a wild balance act between the people who wanted war and the pro American king who just didn’t want everything to explode.

You forget that maintaining peace and security is only one of the many purposes of the UN. There are all the developmental projects, multilateral information sharing systems and multilateral communication that can only occur in a forum and resource like the UN.
And moreover, virtue signalling is important for countries as nations do look at popular opinion in the UN when making foreign policy decisions, especially when their relations with certain blocs within it could be jeopardised by un thought through actions

Mostly memers and history buffs(not actual historians) are the ones who think it’s cool that Switzerland stayed neutral, also Switzerland could have done absolutely nothing except get stomped by Germany if they joined the Allies. The reason why people are mad about India and china is because they can absolutely do something about this illegal war but they chose not to in the name of profit.

Wanna know something even more Crazy? The king even signed the paperworks. Oh wow would you look at that~ Wanna know something even more fun? India still claims the entire region of Kashmir as its integral part and does not recognize the Line of Control as a permanent border. It also reorganized it into two Union Territories!

Votes on the U.N don't matter anyway. The permanent council can veto every vote. Russia is one of the countries on that council. There is only 5 votes that truly matter in the U.N.
