    Greetings from across the pond. I have to tell you. I LOVE pretty much everything you all do... Lee, Chap, Rabea, Pete (in no particular order). You all make my day. The fuzz video you did inspired me to buy a Swollen Pickle which should arrive today (provided USPS delivers as promised). Have a wonderful day/evening. Take care.

    I have the Tone City Model M hooked up to the clean channel of a Mesa Mini Rectifier, effectively granting me two additional channels at the press of a button *and* a tone shift from "American" to "British". And all that for like... 70 quid? It's nothing short but amazing!

    21:10,hint, get someone who can play metal to use the Holy Aura , get THEM and not Lee or Pete to dial it in and play, and market it as an MXR 5150 pedal on the cheap, and watch them fly off the shelves. Or you can keep marketing them with blues players to blues guitarists (who can likely afford to spend much more on pedals and probably wont want a 5150 style amp in a box pedal)

    I bought a Valeton GP-200 from you guys which I've done a couple of gigs with, I put my Wahwah pedal and a Tone City King of Blues through the front end of it. Sound is amazing and I think the Tone City overdrive adds a nice bit of fatness to the Valeton sound.

    If Im not mistaken, having the clean blend control on the Big Rumble is very nearly like a Klon trait... The Klon thing is a simultaneous blend of your clean signal back into the driven signal, but the gain and clean blend are stacked and turn together under the gain knob. On the Big Rumble they're separate, giving you the option of that or not. Wow is right for the money! I'm getting a very mythical Dumble/Klon like vibe from the Big Rumble.

  • @Wesquire
    @Wesquire 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Finally bought one of these. Unbelievable. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It has a TON of transparent boost on tap and the OD side tightens up chords and thickens single notes like a Tube Screamer/SD-1 but doesn't get nasally like those do. Being able to mix the clean signal in is something every low-mid gain OD should have. The same OD setting can give you a great blues lead tone from a clean setting and then also take a crunch setting to a rock lead tone. Perfect for a 2 channel amp. If you have a Mesa rectifier and you are using a TS/SD1 to tighten it up, try something like this.

    The question isn’t “how does Tone City do it so cheap?”… it’s how do other companies get away with charging so much. The handful of components that go into most pedals cost pennies. Tone City isn’t a miracle working company - they’ll still be making a profit (as will Andertons) from a bill of parts others could replicate. So what’s the trick? There’s isn’t one. The mass production boys are all pretty similar… aside from the pricing… and that depends on the perceived value rather than actual performance.

    They really do seem to be a great value compared to other brands for sure. I really think they should have given the Heavenly Lake a way to control and/or remove the modulation. I just didn't like the sound of the modulation on the reverb at all. I don't like any modulation on delay either. Just my preference, it doesn't make it a bad pedal .

    Mick and Dan are wrong for a simple reason: boost good in front of amp, and whether you admit it or not, an overdrive pedal on a board is basically an amp you want to kick. "Get breakup right and then make louder" makes no sense. The boost gets the breakup right. No amp or OD pedal ever does that well un-boosted (here the myth of plugging straight in bleeds into the myth of the tune screamer etc that has us all chasing overdrives; truth of it all is it mostly sounds great with a boost in front of it and kinda not otherwise). Boost always in front.
