Zero stripe white belt here. Found the video because I find myself in turtle often. I have been controlling the arm like you demonstrated, sort of as a natural defense against getting choked. Learning how this leads to some good escapes and into guard is super helpful. Thanks!
It’s amazing how small changes and radically alter the position. I play turtle all the time and I almost feel dumb that I haven’t recognized this idea yet lol. Excellent video!
I'm a 1 stripe white belt and keep getting stuck in turtle (too many bad habits from judo). This is an amazing drill, thank you. Also that dark Knight gi is amazeballs!
Nice. Works as guard getting passed bail out too, already have half the grip with normal frames anyway. I will practice this in class in about an hour.
In my gym we have a couple of MMA guys who play this very effectively. There are counters but "resistance" or just trying to bull out of it, is not the way to go. And kinda illogical given gravity and 2 versus your 1. Try it yourself. If your gym aren't familiar with it, you'll give them conniptions!
@@slavicvolk I can buy a blackbelt from Walmart, so no thanks. I'll take more faith in the practitioner and their ability to demonstrate the move affectively over the color of a belt.
I feel like I just robbed the BJJ Knowledge Bank from watching this. Wow.

This works. Really well. For MMA too. Shuts down chokes and same side hammer fists
Really ? Have you done it in MMA ?
Nice 👍🏼 - I’ve spun around with a 2 on 1 like that and gotten a wristlock as well…I like this strategy…
I’ve never seen this before. Gonna start trying out
Can you repeat that please, I was too busy staring at the moustache.
This is great. I like to plant it then tripod , then sit to guard or just stand up.

Great move. Thanks.
These island top team guys are literally all genius lvl BJJ players wtf is in the water over there?
Is wonderful for judo too !
How did I never think about this ????
Mmmm I have friends in Nanaimo , may visit them soon :)
Can I place my order now?
Excellent video. Thanks so much guys!
Thank you
great stuff!
I have to try this but it looks like they could potentially circle around to front headlock?
I got a single arm throw off someone that tried to circle.
Amazing. Much Thanks!
Stephen is that moustache for Movember?
Nice
Hobson Hook?
I missed the Hobson hook - timestamp?
I teach it in the video before this in the instructional.
It's called the "Robson hook" after Robson Moura.
what about putting the head against his forearm?
I love this. The the Batman gi too.
If he locks the seat belt this move wont work?
Nice!!!
🔥🔥🔥
Wow what a surprising mustache :)
Huh, this is similar to something I already like doing
You can use this to get belly down straight armlock with a half ass upside down half guard
Where's the cheat code ?
This can be defeated by putting your knee on their wrist.
Counters v counters, I like that ☺️
Then you can counter with a single leg
Stephan. Who is that mean looking moustached biker dude on the left? I've never seen him before.
Mustaches are the silliest form of facial hair FYI!
Respectfully, there are many ways that a decent Judoka could prevent the opportunity for the escape you show from ever happening.
Yes but any escape can be prevented. Its about chaining strong movements together in order to make your opponent make a mistake.
Please tell us what those escapes are.
Looks cute on video, but your opponent is adding no resistance nor applying his skill. Good luck applying this....
The Truth works for me against pressure. Give it a try and report back.

@@StephanKesting isn't working well. Not very affective.

@@slavicvolk glad you approve of me having my own opinion.
