    I think it would interesting to add a standard test to all folder reviews where you deploy it from your pocket with different kinds of gloves. More to knife ergonomics than just how it feels! Also I know a folder is not intended for making kindling but I’m always interested in knowing whose lockback designs are up to the task. Most Cold Steels are strong enough to whack on without closing on you. Just my opinion. Love the channel. Thanks 🙏🏻

    Of course they'd make a knife and name it "Khan". After all it was Cold Steel that created the "Voyager" series several years ago. :)
    I assume it was really named after Ghengis Khan, but either one, the fictional or the real Khan were formidable opponents and bad asses.
    Maybe it's nothing ground breaking, but it's a cool and interesting knife. I'd carry it.

    I've been searching for a new small edc and bought this knife based on your review. This is a fantastic knife, my only complaint is the hex on the set screw holding the thumb stud is smaller than any hex key I have so I had to make one. Since I removed the thumb stud I've upgraded my comment to super fantastic.

    So how do you think it stacks up to the Ontario rat 2? Being made out of the same steel and out of Taiwan.

    • @gideonstactical
      @gideonstactical 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cassidy Shields The rat2 is a more practical lightweight EDC the khan will have a lot more strength on the blade and the locking mechanism.

    Excellent review as always! I still like the look of a tanto point and this knife delivers on looks, but i find them annoying to sharpen. Hence, i tend to stay away from them for my EDC knives.

    Aaron, I have been a Star Trek fan since the first episode when I was in High School. How could I not be, my last name is Kirk .. If they make a knife with Kirk on it they will sell at least one :) :)

    Should of raised the price to $50/$60 and used cts xhp steel luv the look and weight blue is a great color awesome action thumb studs are really cool looking but when I saw aus8 steel I moved on to bad would of bought one today if the steel was better but that’s just my opinion but if u don’t mind aus8 steel u can’t beat the price at $39 u could do much worse for the price.

  • @DJHamburgla

    I love Cold Steel but they need to make more EDC blades that aren't half tactical, half EDC. Please just stick to one or another. I know the tri-ad is unbeatable in strength but no one really cares on an EDC blade. I wish they made more classy/gentleman style blades. I love the Code 4, but it can't make up it's mind if it's a tactical or EDC blade. It looks classy as hell, but is way too big. I wish they made more blades like Spyderco. I hate to say it but it is what everyone is thinking. They look beautiful, have different sizes, different materials and handle options, and they are all easy to open and close. I love the tri-ad lock on a recon 1 or Voyager etc. But it is too annoying to operate multiple times a day...ok I don't know what I am trying to say. I love Cold steel and are glad they are coming out with now models but the opening hole thing looks too gimmicky and bulky and will turn away people who already think CS knives are too mall ninja-ish. They need to make more "basic" EDC blades. I know it is blasphemy to CS, but there is nothing wrong with liner lock/frame lock/flippers etc. I wish they would bring back the Twist Master Opinel-type knife. That's a way to make something old new again and they would stand out as a company. Sorry for rambling. I am not very articulate.

    • @DJHamburgla
      @DJHamburgla 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a lot of people really really really WANT to like cold steel but they just can't due to their image. When it comes to tactical/self defense blades CS is without a doubt king. I'll admit after seeing their "proof" videos I was totally sold, but if we are talking EDC it's a whole different school of thought completely. I am not trying to be mean to CS, I applaud their efforts, but I really want them to succeed and although they are on the right track, they still have a way to go. If they can drop their ego about being so tough and can accept that a"softer touch" isn't a bad thing, then they could dominate the EDC folder world.
