Great video Ray with some stunning footage!!!! That spot is on our bucket list, we missed stopping there a couple of years ago, but we will eventually get there. Time stamp 2:38, can I safely roll down that hill with a 46ft 5th wheel without bottoming out🤔 👍😃🍻
I didn't have any worry with my 30 foot fifth wheel 44 feet overall length about bottoming. I was more concerned about maybe sliding on the loose gravel but didn't have any issue. There is a less steep entrance also. Cheers, Ray
I had the same message regarding ABS on my 2016 Ram 3500 DRW. One of the many suggestions I found in the forums was to remove the covers to the fuse box and press down to reseat/secure each of the fuses & relays. I found several loose. I do a fair amount of boondocking and get jostled around. Anyways, that was almost 20 months ago and have not had the problems since. Good luck.
I was content putting the jacks down on our Winnie for the night of the 23rd at the turnoff of 178 for the Pinnacles and viewing them from a distance. That 5 miles of rough road would've wreaked havoc on our 20 year old rig for just a single overnight stop. It's always impressive how busy the Sprangler Hills OHV area gets during Turkey Day week. Perfect weather out there right now, enjoy!
Yes I like to have the nose pointed toward the mid day sun. Best for my solar panel layout on the roof and keeping the rig cooler inside. We have very large windows on the back and drivers side of the trailer and it can turn into a greenhouse in there if the sun is able to pour in.
It takes beautiful video and very smooth on the zooming. Thanks and enjoy the desert. We've camped at the Trona Pinnacles and got out just as a major dust storm was coming. Neat place.
That's a beautiful location, thx for the video. My question is on your sewer tote, I watched a video yesterday where this fellow was using a Vevor water bladder for his grey and black tank tote. He empty all 3 tanks in trailer in one trip. Wonder if you have come across anyone using these for this purpose?
I haven't seen any in person but have heard of people using agricultural commercial grade bladders for waste transport. I decided to use the tote so I could either take in truck bed or if in a place not far from the dump station just tow it behind my truck at low speed to dump and not have to hook up the macerator. I also would think using a bladder for waste would be kind of messy to store and deal with. The tote rinses out easily and I strap it outside on my RV ladder when not using it.
I didn't smell anything. Anne said she smelled sulfur one day but that was about it. Wind was really low when we were there so the air was really clear.
Thanks but that isn't the problem. I think the wheel sensor is a fault with the older trucks. Mine is a 2018 and the problem is different. Faulty HCU Hydraulic Control Unit which has the motor in it. There is now a recall going to happen. Yay! www.consumerreports.org/cars/car-recalls-defects/heavy-duty-ram-trucks-recall-risk-antilock-brake-abs-failure-a8228469455/

I find it hard to appreciate the beauty of the desert until I watch your videos.
Thank you!
Thanks, Anne and Ray. I want to hide out from reality these days. You picked an amazing place to do it. Cheers!
Beautiful video, I have never been to that part of CA.

I tried that but didn't still had the problem. Seems the 2017-2108 models have this issue.
Nice looking 👀 area.

When camped in an open area like you occupy in this video do you try to orient your rig in any direction?

Beautiful video and area. What camera and lens is your new camera? Really takes good video and zoom shots.
I recently bought a Canon VIXIA HF G70 camcorder. Quite happy with it so far. amzn.to/3DctLd5

If you can stand the smell of Trona have fun.

I lived near there and when the wind blew you could smell that sulfer all the way in Ridgecrest
Where do you get water and dump gray tanks?
In Ridgecrest www.desertempirefair.com/rv-park
he showed in the video a fairground in Ridgecrest that had a campground offering a dump for $15 and potable water
I expected to see Walter White's RV out there
Visited Trona by accident 2008. The town looks like a 3rd world country. To me it is a very interesting place.
Wagon wheel is probably where most of the dirt bikes and ATV’s are coming from.
🙏🙏🙏🤛👍🦅😎🇺🇸
Jim here clean your wheel sensor on rear ok bud fix mine
