I sold all my possessions and gave away everything to follow Jesus, even as a homeless child.
I'm now the most blessed person I know and have more abundance than even literal millionaires...

Amen, amen Pastor John 🙌🏿. I know the feeling all to well. It's like feeling you can't "give out" enough to God! "Oh Lord, for all is Yours!"
Years ago, I was sorrowful about my low income and would pray for wealth and success so that I could be a BIG philanthropist. The Lord taught me that my 2 little fishes 🐠🐠 will feed thousands for it is He that multiplies 🙌🏾!
I learned that's its about glorifying God with what He's blessed us with. As it is fitting unto God's design for my life, I'll continue to work. So rather I have more or less; most importantly, my goal is to glorify Him in all things ✨

A.W. Tozer "The Pursuit of God" - The Blessedness of Possessing Nothing
"Father, I want to know You, but my coward heart fears to give up its toys. I cannot part with them without inward bleeding, and I do not try to hide from You the terror of the parting. I come trembling, but I do come. Please root from my heart all those things which I have cherished so long and which have become a very part of my living self, so that You may enter and dwell there without a rival. Then shall You make the place of Your feet glorious. Then shall my heart have no need of the sun to shine in it, for Yourself will be the light of it, and there shall be no night there. In Jesus' Name, Amen"

I don't want to be rude, but even though you sound very sincere, I advise you to pray privately and not on it platform like this, because jesus commanded us to do so,just saying!
6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 7 "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. God Can Ask Anything of You! He asked me to give my entire savings to my son to cover Payroll. He asks me to give people on the tram platform money for tram fare. He has asked me to help many people in parking lots when they needed help and people living on the street. I do not question Him..usually?! I think He is Teaching me to Trust HIM that He will take Care of me..and I am not to put so much trust in my money. If somebody only has a little money but they cling onto every dollar it's just as damaging. Pray on it, listen, pray, and listen some more. You will here God's will, you will feel He is happy with whatever you and God knows is what's right in your heart. I don't know your situation, I'm just a human, but this is how I handled my struggles. God knows, He knows our heart.
Scripture says 10% of our earnings, Deuteronomy NIV 14:22-26 Deut. 22 Make an offering of ten percent, a tithe, of all the produce which grows in your fields year after year.
We do so monthly, well I do monthly. But then again, if we don't give with joy because that takes away from keeping a roof over our heads, food, and necessities then pray on it more. You'll know in your heart when what you're tithing is good with God.
I couldn't tithe for a long time, due to health I've not been able to work, but in prayer and truly by the Grace of God, cleaning my Church 8 to 16 hours a week was good. I'm now able to tithe 5% of monthly earnings and still clean doing both with joy in the Lord. God knows our hearts.
Maybe tithing 5% then buying needs for your parents 5%? Maybe much needed service work in your Church or other's in need, then buying for your parents?
Just thoughts from my heart. God bless in with all He knows you need adding in things He knows you want!

I don’t think that’s the message here. Of course we can’t buy our way in, but there are people (like myself) who God prunes so we can bear fruit. He’s really working on me with this situation and has been speaking to me through his word.
1.) Give- The rich young man (if you want to be perfect..), give and it will be given you, be a cheerful giver.
2.) me being In need- the poor widow who gave, god will supply all of my needs
3.) me being selfish- keep yourself from the love of money, don’t store up riches here
4.) trusting God and his provision- He will supply all of my needs, don’t worry about your life, obeying like Abraham, obedience
These are basically the scriptures been showing me. Gods knows that greed and the love of money are things I need to have removed so I can be saved. He’s coming back soon. He’s gonna reward us according to what we’ve done.
God has been providing for me so much. He doesn’t want me to give reluctantly our out of compulsion or obligation. He wants us to do it freely.
I’m struggling with this internally. I feel discomfort in my physical heart. But I know that I have to overcome. He’s shaping us into his image. If I obey him with my finances, and over come idolatry, it’ll be easy for me to obey him in other areas. We must surrender our money to him.
I can’t be in control anymore

So when Paul teaches things which seem to be at odds with Jesus's instructions to sell everything, and to not work to feed or clothe yourself, wouldn't the natural conclusion be that Paul was not divinely inspired when he said those things? Shouldn't Jesus be our standard for determining if later authors were genuine? If not, then how do you know that people like Pat Robertson *aren't* divinely inspired? What is your standard, if not the words of Jesus?
Incidentally, in the story about Zacchaeus, Jesus was instructing Zacchaeus specifically, not the rest of his followers, like when he told the rich young ruler to sell everything, he was speaking to that one individual. But, in many other places, where Jesus is speaking to everyone who can hear him, he very clearly says to sell everything and to not work.
    Matthew 5:40-42
“…and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.”
    Luke 6:29-30
“If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again.”
    Luke 12:32-34
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
    Luke 14:33
“So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions.”
    Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. “So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

    • @NikolaTesla_369

The meaning is much more deeper than just buying or selling..
The thing is we don't really understand what this passage means...
Nor able to digest what is written if taken in simple terms...
      God is God.
      Man is Man.
The son of God came to do the will of the Father nothing else...
      His Goal was clear..
Selling seems to be an act of faith and total dependance on God..
I believe God will take care of that man who sold everything for God..
      No doubt...
The Church comes into picture here..
      And God would provide everyone..
I know that nobody will do this act of selling at present...
Although people had really sold their properties earlier when lord was on the earth and so on like that during those days of Paul too....
But nowadays attachment toward worldly possessions are more...
Many people don't even think on this matter...
It's is a matter of Faith and an act of wisdom...
So don't just jump right into conclusion that God wants you to sell your possessions and be a beggar it's not like that...
Be silent if you do not understand something...
Ask God for wisdom on this matter if you have any doubts...
Because you are challenging the creator...
It's ok if you are confused and not understand...It happens sometimes..
Just be silent and ask God for revelation...

12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

an analogy i like to give is Gods has a vision for your future and when your will aligns with His you will have that vision and your life will go smoother. That does not mean you wont have hard times. the analogy is if you were driving a car you are looking forward but a speed bump is coming up. You slow down for the speed bump and you start adjusting your life around this speed bump the speed bump becomes your focus and you are just observing about how big the speed bump. I challenge you to stay focused on what God has for your future. When you stay focused forward the speed bump does not seem so big anymore. hope that helps!

I am in the process of selling All that I have, giving the proceeds to the poor (preferably to the poor in third world countries who suffer from need way more than the poor in the US), and then follow Jesus wherever He directs me. It is only fear and greed that prevent one from obeying Jesus' commandments. The more of my possessions I get rid of the freer I feel. God bless you. Jesus in His earthly ministry to the believing remnant of Israel, called "the little flock", told them to "Sell that ye have, and give alms;":
    📚Luke 12:32-33 KJB
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 SELL THAT YE HAVE, AND GIVE ALMS; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.”
    📚Acts 2:44-45 KJB
    44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 AND SOLD THEIR POSSESSIONS AND GOODS, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
👉DID THEY BELIEVE IT WAS SPIRITUAL, OR LITERAL? 🤔
The "little flock" did what Jesus told them to do. They believed that Jesus meant exactly what He said to them.
🚩Religious Christianity preaches a "spiritual Israel" in this age of "the dispensation of the grace of God". They wrongly teach that the doctrine of the body of Christ, which is the church, is in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Hebrews through Revelation. Because they know they cannot take Jesus' words literally, they end up handling the word of God deceitfully by spiritualizing what He said.
    To them, Jesus would say:
    📚Luke 6:46 KJB
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, AND DO NOT the things which I say?
❗️Doctrine written TO the body of Christ can be found in our God-appointed apostle Paul's 13 epistles, Romans through Philemon.
    📚Romans 15:4
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
🔑They key to understanding the Bible:
    📚2 Timothy 2:15 KJB
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH.

Who can spread the gospel without any rewards[ money] in this fucking world? None! Who can die only for spreading the gospel? None! Today is not the day of the apostles' day, not in Jesus's day we live. If one was re-born through the Holy Spirit, even so, our innately sinful nature is still going until dying. No, even after dying, we grinds our teeth in Hell that's we are. So two-faced the same " whited sepulcher" as the Bible described. Just only we are " the justified sinner". Socrates said, " Know yourself ", likewise if we cannot perceive that we are a sinner of sinners, then we can never be re-born that is the premise to dwell "in Christ".

      +Mr. C: Answer
How dare you answer[say] like that; " Sin is impossible to define if one is relying on compliance to rules and regulations!" It's firmly not that you said. You are very silly ! You don't even know what the very gospel is. You must say like this ; It's not sin if one is " in Christ" through "His blood" , neither rules nor regulations ! "False teachers" are explicitly supposed to enter " Hell " is the Bible clear teaching. Even Jesus rebuked those who sell and buy at His holy temple, far more condemned those who strictly observe the God's law like this; " You brood of vipers !". "Sharing" [copying] the address of the resoource is different from "preaching" in person with a labor.
First of all, YOU should also enter Hell with the false gospel and false teachers. Because you have distributed the false gospel far and wide. If one adds or omits the gospel, then he must be cursed this is the reason that you should be cursed as well. Don't expect your reward in Heaven. You can never enter Heaven as you think.
      " Konw yourself ! "

Not sure if you're stating a fact and talking in general of false teachers or of Pastor Piper?
Sin is NOT impossible to define! God's law is clear.
There is only One God to judge anyone. We don't know anyone's heart, only the Lord does.
Sin is sin whether we are saved, we're all sinners, me first. In Christ we change and sin repulses us because we have the Holy Spirit in us.
Real teachers of God do not ask for money. It's about a relationship with the Lord. The only unconditional love we will really every know loving God with all our mind, heart, and soul while loving our neighbor. That doesn't mean we have to like or hang out with everyone, but we aren't to hurt anyone with our words/actions.
Pray for those who anger us asking God for understanding.
God bless us with all He knows we need filling us with His comforting love and peace!

God wants His money, or ELSE!
    Acts 5:1-10 GW
A man named Ananias and his wife Sapphira sold some property. They agreed to hold back some of the money ⌞they had pledged⌟ and turned only part of it over to the apostles. Peter asked, “Ananias, why did you let Satan fill you with the idea that you could deceive the Holy Spirit? You’ve held back some of the money you received for the land. While you had the land, it was your own. After it was sold, you could have done as you pleased with the money. So how could you do a thing like this? You didn’t lie to people but to God!” When Ananias heard Peter say this, he dropped dead. Everyone who heard about his death was terrified. Some young men got up, wrapped his body in a sheet, carried him outside, and buried him. About three hours later Ananias’ wife arrived. She didn’t know what had happened. So Peter asked her, “Tell me, did you sell the land for that price?” She answered, “Yes, that was the price.” Then Peter said to her, “How could you and your husband agree to test the Lord’s Spirit? Those who buried your husband are standing at the door, and they will carry you outside for burial.” Immediately, she dropped dead in front of Peter. When the young men came back, they found Sapphira dead. So they carried her outside and buried her next to her husband.
