love that you said decorating is not a chore. I am 71 and call it playing house! I love being creative and the entire process is fun to me.. And I do decorate with what I have with maybe an item or two that is new. But I collect red and blues from the thrift shop during the year. Also I dont use orange or black in my normal decor, but pick up little vessels and plates to use for the fall and halloween , adding candies or candles fro the seasons.

I just stumbled upon your video of patriotic farmhouse DIYs from last year. I love your home, it is gorgeous! I too like to use things I already have and repurpose or upcycle items and add them to my decor. I also get excited when that happens lol. I hate spending money when I don't have to.
