Environmental Journalism in South Florida

Dr. Jenny Staletovich is an Environmental Editor and Reporter at WLRN Public Radio and Television, and her career in journalism spans nearly 20 years. She has reported on many important environmental topics. This includes the effects of climate change, invasive Burmese pythons, Everglades restoration projects, the 2018 red tides and hazardous algal blooms, and the effects of warming seas on coral reefs. She is the recipient of awards such as the Polly Redford Award from the Tropical Audubon, and the Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in writing. In this seminar, she will discuss her experiences as an Environmental Reporter in Florida and shed light on how the field of environmental journalism functions in South Florida.
