Just realized when you fight the end and he uses photosynthesis with that beam of sunlight shining down, his spots actually disappear. He ended up de-aging enough to walk around.
Yeah, I always saw *the* ladder as a calming moment. As somebody said, even on normal difficulty, The End is a pretty drawn out boss fight, except if you know/use some tricks. But I remember my first time, going completely blind, it took me a long time, and it was draining since I was always vigilant for any noise or light that might indicate his position. Tbh, even though it is I think the worst way to fight him, going full sniper yourself and trying to outsnipe him is really fun. There are a lot of ways to approach the fight and find him. I'll mention a few on top of my head, you can skip past them if you want to keep the surprise for an eventual replay : - You can use the directional microphone to try to hear him. - You can just look for the light of his scope, but if you use your binoculars to do so, he might catch the reflection of your binoculars and find you first. - You can use the thermal googles to find him, but also to follow him since you'll see his footsteps better with them on. - As mentioned just above, if you manage to get close to him and he runs away, you can see his footsteps and follow him. - If you get him low enough on stamina and leave him alone for a while, he'll start photosynthesizing and you'll see a beam of light on him. - If you capture his parrot (by tranquing him) and then release him, he'll fly towards The End, revealing his position. - If you stay hidden for too long sniping, he can just get right behind you and shoot you point blank. - As The End isn't using bullets but tranqs, he won't kill you, if your stamina runs low, he'll bring you back to those cells where your disguised yourself as a scientist - As some people mentioned, you can save and quit, then wait (or advance the console clock) and reload. If you waited long enough, The End would've died of old age, but if you have waited a while but not long enough, he's the one sneaking up on you sleeping. And yeah, as some people said, you're missing a lot of easter eggs, especially during codex call since you don,t call often, but I don,t think it would be as fun to constantly call to see if something changed either. Doing it for the story is probably indeed the best option for a "first" playthrough. I'm really enjoying myself and Audrey's predictions (that are surprisingly accurate sometimes) !
No wonder so many people reference that as their favorite encounter! I was aware of some of those methods, but not all. Yet another thing to keep in mind for the next playthrough! Yeah, I knew that we were going to miss some easter eggs both in MGS2 and MGS3 because there are just so many, but we wanted to maintain a steady pace of story for Audrey's first playthrough. Thanks for understanding and for watching! Also, yes, Audrey's predictions are incredible haha -Anthony
@@BlazingMarauderDCUO Audrey was pretty invested in the characters by the time we got to MGS3, so it was fun to hear the gears turning in her head! Thanks for watching! -Anthony
I played this game last month at European extreme difficulty in order to achieve highest rank Foxhound and it was hell but i manage to get foxhound rank. Now i replay the game at normal and it was a walk in the park.
After the cutscene at Ponizovje Warhouse Exterior (1:38:05 - 1:45:00) if you go back to the Ponizovje South at the entrance (the cave area) there is a face camo in the water near the cave entrance called Water Face Camo. I didn't know about it for years because I never actually backtracked. One day I did and found the face camo and was like wtf? I missed this camo all the time?! Edit: If you want to cheese the Fear in future playthrough, use this strategy; Use a Fake Death Pill and the Fear will come and examine you. After he turns around use the revival pill, equip Stun grenades and toss one at him. When he is stunned, blast him with the AK47. For some reason, as long as he is stunned, the lethal bullets stamina kill him. lol.
@@reyony The biggest interesting thing I made not of is that in no guides (video or forum) for MGS3 that I found actually mention anything about Water Face Camo which means I found something that even the guides missed! 😂 And I found it on a hunch that I missed something like ammo, lol.
2:33:01 Oh she was looking to see what your reaction would be when she mentioned Patriots! 👀 Good job no selling it(wrestling jargon)😆 You could also throw out rotten food for The Fear to eat too.
Those hovercrafts DID exist in the 60s! Kojima ripped those directly from real military designs that were ACTUALLY built, worked but required so much training to use they weren't seen as practical enough for mass production. You can find videos of them flying around on TH-cam. The Davy Crockett was real too so was Eva's lipstick gun as well as the Fulton Recovery System. You've seen the Fulton used before in one of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.
The funny thing about killing The End early is that if you hit the shot and don't immediately move out of the way you'll be struck by the flying corpse and wheelchair of The End as shooting him causes his oxygen tank to explode sending him rocketing directly at you🤣
The eating mechanic is unlike anything else ever in gaming. You noticed that when Snake likes a food he recovers more stamina but did you know that if you eat stuff he doesn't like he'll eventually grow to like it? Also, if you keep eating the same stuff he likes too much, he likes it less. Also, if you eat rotten food it'll make you sick. But if you keep eating rotten food he builds an immunity to rotten foods and even they'll recover stamina as well. Also, spinning Snake around in the viewer will make him throw up when your exit the menus 🤣
@@reyony it's ok, my first time playing MGS3 I got stuck trying to figure out what the action button is so I could get my equipment from the tree in the beginning 😅

This fight took me 3 hrs the first time.. too bad you didn't do it a true sniper fight to show her what it was really like... I know on easy you can do it this way, especially with the 3d camera, but i think it misses a lot of the tension.
Yeah, you're totally right that Audrey didn't get the true original experience of this encounter. However, that's one of the sacrifices we've decided to accept when it comes to how we play our duo-stream games. For these earlier games that I've already played, I'm acting as a sort of tour guide for Audrey to experience the story at a good pace. We appreciate your feedback, it certainly made me nostalgic for my first time with this game!! Thanks! -Anthony
Shame you guys are not exploring more, you missed a lot of stuff and guns , same with calls, you can get really good interesting and funny dialogues , but it's your guys first playthrough so you get a pass lol
Thank you!! Yeah, there are TONS of missable and optional things, easter eggs, and extra dialogue, especially in MGS2 and MGS3!! For our duo-streams, our goal is usually to stick with the main path and enjoy the main story at a steady pace. However, it's super fun to look up all the fun stuff we skipped after finishing!
