The voice acting is stellar, and you can really see Yuri and Peter's dynamics shift a lot. All the pain in her voice and all the regret in his... what an amazing piece of acting and story.
It must be hilarious for Yuri Lowenthal to say his own name repeatedly. Like "I'm so sorry, Yuri. I should have been here" or "Yuri sounds okay, physically at least".
I'm just thinking how awkward it would be for me to have to say it as someone's name, because "Yuri" is a type of hentai...

This story is actually a great setup for Yuri's character. We see her being held hostage, being consumed by fear of helplessness. Having emotionly tord apart by Hammerhead. Leading her to take actions by her own hands and finally being pushed to execute Hammerhead with no hesitations.
This will definitely introduce her vigilante appearance from the comics in the final DLC or the possible Spider-Man PS4 sequel.
Peter Parker as Spider-Dad to Miles is adorable.

Disappointed with this DLC for the lack of pizza time
A spy anywhere can cause a hundred times more damage than an army at a precise moment. The dirty cop working for Hammerhead is as responsible as Hammerhead himself for all the misery in this story. He was probably the one who warned Hammerhead about the police ambush led by Yuri, leading to Yuri's new belief in vigilantism. He was also the one who gave secret police information to Hammerhead, enabling the crooks to play the entire police force like a fiddle. The dirty cop also personally revived Hammerhead, which will lead to further misery in the next DLC story.
He’s probably not the only mole, there are at least 50-200 moles in the force. Remember the first mission in the game?
Got to give credit to the SWAT officer with the Spidey watch, he's got guts when it comes to calling hammerhead a coward and literally SPITTING in his face. This is the kind of guts all Police officials should have

Considering its scope, pre-production of this game started way before any deal between Sony and Marvel Studios, possibly at a time Sony thought The Amazing Spider-Man would go beyond the second episode. So while not connected to the movies, they decided to stick to a self-contained Spider-verse.
Honestly, while it'd be nice to have some glimpses of the wider Marvel universe, it may risk to become just gimmicky fanservice. Just the characters around Spidey are enough to build many more games around.

There's actually another reason why criminals should be brought to justice and not be subject to death by vigilantism. By being tempted and killing Hammerhead, Yuri fell to allure of simply killing to ensure short-term justice and becoming just as monstrous as Hammerhead in her own way. She'll use every excuse that it's for the greater good but she also ensures that Hammerhead's legacy of death and murder will live on through her and anyone else she influences. This is also one reason why Batman never, EVER kills despite being a vigilante.
Same goes for Spiderman when refraining to kill
Roger Leung I have to respectfully disagree. Things like this can be more complicated as in some cases you simply just can’t get some criminals to justice through normal means and the only way to end their terror once and for all is to kill them. And killing a criminal doesn’t automatically make you as bad as that criminal, for example if Batman killed The Joker who let me remind you is a mass murderer that wouldn’t make Batman just as bad as him. Yuri killing him won’t make her just as bad as him, she’s killing a corrupt person who probably caused the death of innocent lives, she won’t be “just as bad” because she killed him. And just arresting them only for them to be out of jail soon after is just short-term justice. Like with Batman, he puts The Joker away after he did a crime and then after he’ll escape to commit more crimes, it’s a never ending cycle with Batman and The Joker and justice is never really served, The Joker certainly won’t be following the courts sentence and will be out sooner. And with Yuri how will her killing this one criminal ensure his legacy of death and murder live on? You can kill one bad person and still not be a murder crazy psychopath, there’s this thing called being pragmatic, this is one case where a pragmatic hero might end one life to save more innocent lives. Sometimes killing a criminal IS for the greater good, any of The Joker’s victim’s unfortunate fates could be avoided if someone killed The Joker already. It’s like the argument the Red Hood, one of Batman’s past robins, makes which is completely right, people like The Joker should be killed because that’s the only way to end it. Now it’s understandable why Batman wouldn’t want to kill him but that doesn’t make the point here wrong, if someone like The Joker was tried he probably would’ve been sentenced to death. Why no one in-universe sentenced him to death for his crimes alludes me. Your argument is somewhat weak and that Batman comparison just weakens it more as The Joker is the living rebuttal of your argument.
It's not that simple. I mean, vigilantes are criminals themselves. One must try to consider the morality of those of which vigilantes hunt. Sometimes killing isn't the answer, but other times maybe it is.
But Batman is killing, where does this stereotype come from?

I like this Hammerhead he's a good villian! He's got his motivations and he's sticking to it, and he believes in it, he's down right scary not in terms of looks but in terms that he's a freaking MOB BOSS! And... DAMNIT! If he isn't charming!

Spider-Man's greatest strength does not come from what the spider gave him. It comes from his indomitable spirit. Much like Yuri in this he has been pushed to the breaking point more times than any other hero I can think of, including Batman. But throughout it all he refuses to break, refuses to give in, and always finds some hope when everything gets dark, and comes back swinging higher than before.

Haven't even played the dlc but watched through this and it just seems to me like this whole story is just Spider-Man beating up maggia goons and trying to stop hammerheads plans before yuri does.
When I first saw the trailer for the dlc I thought hammerhead had some sort of black mail on yuri, that he had threatened her mother and she was forced to work for him. I thought it would be more like that

It really seems like Yuri has a double influence here for her newfound vigilantism, kinda like a major and minor influence. Her major influence is made obvious in the story, it’s her drive for revenge from her pain. I think her minor influence though is Spider-Man himself, seeing as he is a vigilante and has kept many supervillains off the streets when they get arrested. He as a vigilante, has followed a personal code for justice, and she respects that. She’s done with following the law to save lives though, and she’s not going to hold back. Her code lacks morals, because she gave up on them. Her justice is end lives to save lives. It’s sad, but that’s why vigilantes exist on such a massive spectrum.

In the scene where Yuri shoots Hammerhead it switches to A medium shot of Spider-Man and the police behind him (Symbolizing the law) then it switches to a medium shot of Yuri with Hammerhead behind her (symbolizing crime) Yuri has made her choice and has made the turn to Criminal/Anti Hero

I don't get what's wrong with Yuri Killing Hammer Head here. Dude was on a warpath and is still in his mech suit still a THREAT. He still is technically armed in that mech suit. In real life there would most likely be a kill order on such a person and would be branded a terrorist. Kill on sight......But this is a video game/ story so I guess there has to be some moral themes or whatever lol

Do you think i'd be cool if Spiderman came into contact with other heroes in New York, and teamed up with their bad guy, and his...like him and daredevil going up against someone, or a jessica jones acting like an MJ to take down someone...or is any of this possible or too far-fetched
Even if Sony has now agreed to share the movie rights of Spider-Man with Marvel Studios (hence Spidey in the MCU), for a long time they were only theirs. Consider this game took years to make and was conceived long before the above deal; so since it's produced by Sony, as an exclusive for their console, even if it has no links to any movie, it's only natural they decided to stick to just Spider-Man and the characters surrounding him, rather than also use characters that people are more likely to associate to the Disney/Marvel movies and series. There's Kingpin early in the game but while more associated with Daredevil today, he originated as a Spidey villain.
Since now the general public is used to Spidey as a MCU character anyway, it may change in a sequel to this game (which I guess we won't see before 2021), but I also think there's enough Spidey character to get it going without what would amount to a bunch of luxury cameos.

He most probably was killed by a bullet from one of the thugs who barged in after the lights went out. Would be really too much for Yuri if it turned out the fatal bullet was from her gun (even just a ricocheting one). Or it may just be what the writers need to break her further...
The ambiguity regarding the death of Lt. Drake (the officer with the Spidey watch) may have been intentional (or it's just me thinking that). Was it Yuri (accidentally) or the two guys who barged in? I guess we'll never know for sure.
