Thanks for doing this video. The only one I have had is the Talisker and I liked it, just too expensive. I used to always try to buy a bottle of the Lagavulin 12yr CS, the 2010 bottle was outstanding 2018 was pretty good as well. Cheers!
Great episode boys. I have seen the Glenkinchie at a store for $733 USD. No thanks. I've been curious but I have not been tempted due to the prices. They have been a no-go 100% for me.
I don't even seriously consider these bottles because well-presented IBs are readily available where I am. I wish that Diageo would release the sample packs for general sale; I could see myself going for those each year just to be able to try them.
They always nail it with presentation. The box is wild looking. But it’s the quality of the liquid in the bottle that counts. From what I have heard so far I am not sure it’s stacks up. Would be interested in the Talisker tho.
FWIW I (extremely not an expert) have tried 4 of the offerings (Clynelish, Lag, Roseisle, Talisker) and have really enjoyed them. I LOVE the Clynelish and Roseisle That said, all of the SR Diageo stuff boils down to your tolerance for the price. They’re overpriced, no doubt. It sucks, and I feel like a bit of a rube for feeding the hype machine…but the juice ain’t bad
I’m on a limited budget, so these releases are simply way too expensive for what they are. I’m rather spending my money on cheaper (and often better) bottles from smaller distilleries than Diageo owned. Thanks for the video though. It is still interesting to hear how these whiskies are, even if I won’t ever buy them myself.
I hear ya. Entry into market is crazy these days where $100 is pretty standard for a bottle. It is definitely taking away from the hobby, and I'm only buying bottles I've tried or certain I'll love.

Why do you suppose the Glenkinchie 27 is so cheap given it's 27 years (which is no joke), cask strength, single malt, and a "special" Diageo release? Even the bowmore 27 timeless at over 4 times the amount, I thought was cheap. And the redbreast 27, while an Irish, still hundreds more. Do you think something is a bit fishy?
