This is a beautiful lesson in many regards. Many of which is hidden gems and can be understood only if one understands why it is shown the way it is shown. First, barre chords are conspicuous by its absence here. Why did the master not use his preferred method of bar-chords even once? Does a Ghazal genre require an open vibe to it to create that ghazal vibe? Masterji has not said in so many words but probably he means yes to that question. Secondly, the G chord came for hardly a bar and that too late in the Antara, yet it appears to be the man of the moment and becomes defining of its modal nature. An interesting case to study the melody line in more details. Most importantly, in recent times this lesson makes one stronger in the open chords use and the F-C thing. Nice exercise that. Mind the roll-of-thumb. Harmonically modes are the order in which the 7 diatonic chords appear, with chords themselves being the same. For example: In Ionian/normal major scale the order of major chords is as follows; C-F-G are major in F Lydian F-G-C are major chords. Noteworthy here is that the order of the chords have changed the 3 chords still are the same. So harmonically modes are just the change in the order of the chords and that change in order is what changes the whole colour. If your channels each lesson is taken seriously and practiced well there is no reason why one can’t do a decent job at guitar. the channel is truly blessed to have viewers like yourself who watch the lessons so carefully and share insights that touch my heart. god bless u doc :) it takes a lot of time to do pure theory lessons, so am sharing tiny bits in every lesson (as you had once suggested i shud do). am hoping channel regulars watch the whole lesson. this was one lesson i had thought i would never do, as i felt there may not much to show. but on exploring the whole song i realized otherwise. and then Vikas sent me his recording played so beautifully and soulfully that i had to do the lesson immediately! your insight around me not using barre chords is so true. though i did not think thru it that deeply. i always just play what comes naturally to me while listening to the track and experiment with all positions and patterns before recording. will continue as long as i have the love and support of viewers :) chalti ka naam gaadi.
@@PawanJalan all positions and patterns before recording is such a key phrase here. In other words the master himself experiments and practices before recording. And we students give up after a take or two at it. I figured out that in Indian classical music the Ma tiwra although characteristic but not defining and rather the phraseology is the key and in that regards 2 features of this Raga stand out NiReGa phrase is of profound importance here, further the Pa through Ga slide is diagnostic of it Classical Raag Nature. This implies that melody line is the key here. And chords just play the chasing game. True to Indian music fundamental nature which is heavy on melody and along with rythm is enough to run the show sans the harmony. But popular music is incomplete without harmony. Hats off to the composers and then to you who makes the things so much soothing that one is forced to dive in deep and find the answers which your lesson raises. Again many thanks for everything. 🙏🙏🙏

@@PawanJalan all positions and patterns before recording is such a key phrase here. In other words the master himself experiments and practices before recording. And we students give up after a take or two at it.
I figured out that in Indian classical music the Ma tiwra although characteristic but not defining and rather the phraseology is the key and in that regards 2 features of this Raga stand out NiReGa phrase is of profound importance here, further the Pa through Ga slide is diagnostic of it Classical Raag Nature. This implies that melody line is the key here. And chords just play the chasing game. True to Indian music fundamental nature which is heavy on melody and along with rythm is enough to run the show sans the harmony. But popular music is incomplete without harmony.
Hats off to the composers and then to you who makes the things so much soothing that one is forced to dive in deep and find the answers which your lesson raises.
