Please suggest any 2 banks in September, 2024 that one can choose from with good interest rates and no monthly fee and all the good features like Scotia Student advantage banking plan to open a second account while on PGWP? Thank you
Hi MC, I Enjoyed your content, they are great to listen to........since Scotia Bank charges after your graduation, which would you recommend for a new student going to PEI?
So the outcome of any decision is that there is no escape from bank fees especially monthly fees or transaction fees unless you have large amounts deposited, correct? Is there a way to avoid these fees without being a student and/or having huge minimum balance ?
that's not true at all. Being a student, you can get a student chequing account without a monthly fee and without minimum deposit. All big 5 have that offer to take advantage of, but the number of transactions may defer (25 to unlimited). Alternatively, you can use tangerine or simplii which offer no fee accounts for everyone, without a requirement for minimum balance.
Hi good day po, i opened a RBC Royal Bank of Canada, for me to get a GIC Certificate, nandito pa po aq sa Pinas, any recommendation how to transfer or send money po papunta sa RBC account ko po, salamat po.
Do you recommend simplii financial for international students? I know it’s an online bank. I would love to know which one do you recommend for a GIC? CIBC or Simplii Financial? Thanks!
Hi MC, please help me out I'm in a dilemma right now. Which diploma sells more in Canada now between practical nurse and business management? I just want job security. Thanks in anticipation.
I would personally recommend practical nurse. Jobs in the medicine world will always be in high demand, they also have a good pension plan. If your looking for a secure job I would recommend that. Business management however is a really tough market to get into and be really successful as there is a lot of competition. At the end of the day whatever you like best you should go with that:)

Can you get a credit card that is not from the Bank you work with? For example, can I get a tangerine credit card when I work with Scotiabank?
As long as you're eligible to apply, I don't think there will be a problem on that :)
that is not really possible, where do you live?
Hi MC.. Is the checking account useful there in Canada? I mean issuing cheques?
Hi,
Nobody really uses the physical cheques anymore. We lived here for three years and never used one. So you don’t need them ;)
