Once people figure out that tiny homes on wheels are quite overpriced and realize that they won’t be moving around as much, they’ll flock to these shed houses. These shed homes are very affordable! Also, people should look for Amish-build sheds and shed houses in their area. They’re well built.
I agree with everything you said! It is surprising just how expensive tiny homes on wheels are.. Shed conversions are such a wonderful concept if done well! Thanks for sharing!
Tiny homes are a fad and are pricy cause they have to meet code for towns and dmv. I purchased a 12x32 and been working on it for a year now on some acreage. Getting close to putting up our regular house on the market and the closer the dream becomes reality I’m petrified lol! Once we sell we likely can’t purchase again now that the market has exploded so I’m hoping it’s the right move.
This would be a great alternative for senior citizens. Sad that so many cities/towns don't allow people to live in these. They'd rather have people go into ridiculous debt and be trapped than having their towns full of people who can afford housing.
It’s not about them wanting people to get into debt. It’s all about them wanting something built to the regulations as this is technically could follow their own standard and I’m not approved for that use
I wish more areas allowed them as well. That’s why we are really fond of land that is unrestricted or has very, very minimal restrictions. That way you can build these conversions and not have any issues with the city/county.
@@ahomesteadjourney You are very welcome! BTW, did you guys decide on a location for your next homestead? I am researching areas to move to in a few years, and get a small plot of a few acres to put a tiny home on and maybe have a small garden and a few animals! Mostly to relax in nature though! Your video discussing Greenville reminded me to reconsider that area, since it's nice there and also a little cooler than other parts of SC. Would love to hear you and hubby's thoughts in one video on TX vs. NC vs. GA vs. FL. I also saw that you visited Virginia, I actually live in Northern VA now and was thinking about staying in state but just in a cheaper area for buying land. It's really expensive here but there are lots of reasonable, beautiful spots outside of the metropolitan areas! 😂
@@RMMomma4Eva We have not decided on a location yet, but we likely will have somewhere picked out very soon! We had a tornado destroy parts of our home a couple months ago, so we've been focusing on getting things back on track first. Thank you for your feedback and video suggestion! We will put a video out discussing those things soon, so stay tuned ☺ We visited northern Virginia as well...got all the way up to Staunton before turning around! I hope you find the perfect place for you/your family when the time is right!
@@ahomesteadjourney Hi Barbara, can't wait to see that future video! Love and blessings to you both as you are restoring your current home and making decisions for the future! ❤️❤️✨🙏🏽
Howdy thanks for the video I think this is what I'm going to have to do on my land I saw a log cabin 16x40 around $38,700 but it is not finished I also need a well which is another $12,000 septic $6,000
@@lukedawg357SIG I think it sounds like a great idea ☺️ It can be a much more affordable option nowadays and the end result can be very rewarding! Best wishes to y’all!!
I love this concept of smaller/tiny homes. Personally, for me, I’m not interested in tiny home on wheels. In addition to the shed to home conversion I also love container homes. Also, for those that are “handy” they can do as much of the work themselves but hire out the rest. For example, hire out the electrical/plumbing and do the rest themselves. Whatever it takes to help bring the expense down.
I hear ya! I go to the laundromat sometimes and it can be an inconvenience some days! I've seen people create a small laundry room in a separate shed near the main dwelling. It's something to consider 😊
This is an easy fix, Take the original bathroom design and put the shower stall where the commode is where the sink is put a washer/dryer combo with the sink just above the combo and move the bathroom door as far to the left as possible and put the commode where the shower was. Same amount of space but have added the convenience of having a washer and dryer in your home.
So it’s a 12 x 30. What is the size of the living room up to where the dining table is at, the bedroom, and restroom?? Please let me know, I really like the layout.
The more tiny I watch, the more I realize I don’t need a stove. All I need is 2 burners - and nice fridge. I use my ninja foodie and blender for everything I do- that’ll save tons of space
Hope you enjoy the video! Feel free to leave any questions or comments below.
I really enjoyed your presentation. I like your layout and decor. This a place if I were downsizing , I would go with this.👏🏻🏡🏡👏🏻.
Thank you! ☺️

Very nice Cabin to house I own one myself and I love it

Just starting to watch, I love how neat everything looks right from the beginning. Neat yard, everything well kept, no junk laying around 😂

Great video. Thanks for providing this information. This is something my husband and I are considering.

That kitchen would work for me, not much of a cook anymore. Could absolutely live in this. I do not like bigger spaces now
I prefer smaller spaces as well. Easier to maintain, heat/cool, clean, etc ☺️

So cute!!!❤
Aw thanks! We thought so as well ☺❤
The biggest con for me would be no washer/dryer. After I bought my first house I swore to myself no more laundromats.

I got a portable washer on Amazon for less than $100, fits in a shower stall. I full time in a van and I run it on solar.

I'm actually not sure of the specs because we were just renting it for a couple weeks..
Okay
The 20x30 size includes the porch.
☺
Love your home
We rented it for a couple weeks, but I agree - it was very well done!
Nice!!! Who cares about house lol...The land is gorgeous!!! Congrats!!!
Thanks!
This is amazing so if I get a 12 x 30 shed I could do this exact model ?
Yes! Derksen is the brand ☺️

Beautiful ❤. Do you do a COST breakdown ?
Thanks!! I haven’t yet, but probably will in an upcoming video ☺️
Hi! I’m just wonder what breed is the big brown dog at 1:14
She’s a Rhodesian Ridgeback ☺️ Great breed!!
Did you put a brand new septic tank in or just ran into a existing tank? Same thing with water, you ran water lines to the shed new or existing lines?
We stayed in it as a rental for a couple weeks, so I'm not sure what those setups were..
Is it hard to repair any plumbing issues since its a low clarence under the house?
@@NancyAntiques It’s more of a challenge, but not impossible. Plus with new plumbing - things should work well for a very long time!
Where are you going to put it?
We haven't decided yet : )
Do you have floor plans
We stayed in it for a couple weeks as a rental, so we don't have floor plans.
