Not really. It was Meteora's life or all the people on their kingdoms or just Mewni. One life vs all. In the end it all was a misunderstanding but Moon did have reason to do what she did here.
The part where Moon changes her eyes were so BEAUTIFUL! I love it so much especially how the music builds up to the climax. It still gives me goosebumps until now.

Since it's obvious the butterfly form is inherited through the heir of the kingdom, there would've been many other queens who could've changed their skin color as well, we just never got to see it. And besides, the color of Moon's skin doesn't affect anything about her. She can clearly do the same things Star, Eclipsa, and Meteora can do. However, going off topic, Star basically surpasses all the Queens with magic capabilities. So what's the difference your speaking of?

I think we did. We find out later Eclipsa had a part in moon going to the magic dimension. And we found out Moon and Eclipsa had had a bond long before Star. (Ep. Moon the Undaunted is the cause of moons veins) So it could be spell since Eclipsa was dipping down at that point. Or it could be the bond between them.
What does Moon really special at again? I mean, Solaria have this sword wand thay can wound monster until they explode. Eclipsa with Dark spells and Star with Narwhal blast.
