I love that you are advocating a compositional approach as a bridge to improvisation! I have been instructing this approach for 32 years, and I can tell you it really works! It's like writing out a speech - the more speeches you write out, the more capable you will be at delivering an impromptu speech when the time arises, because of all of the background knowledge that you have developed. Thanks much for your continued efforts in jazz education -- keep it up!
Really great of you to shout out Jayden Clark. He’s already a hell of a player and definitely someone to watch out for. He went to another level when he started getting lessons from you! We here back in Wollongong (his home town) are hoping he keeps smashing it in the states once he can get back there…
I was playing this one this morning too. Only not with the chromatic flourishes you soo tastefully added; which of course is the point of the content here. I was also onto the Sarabande of Suite #5 - that one starts out with a blues lick and from there it could be by Eric Dolphy, what with the large leaps and abundance of tritones lol. As always great content Chad! Ever many thanks!!
It looks like that "classical geek" from your last clip had quite an influence on you, getting you to mix Bach & Bird. (At least he didn't destroy your tone.) BTW - new mouthpiece?

So cool man really fantastic content!
Great video; really appreciated the way you explained the essence of Bebop lines!
More musical gold nuggets. Thanks for this Chad.
You're methods are absolutely tops, Chad! Thank you for the work that you do.
Very useful and beautifully clear explanation.

Can't wait for your future video "Bird, Bartók and Varèse"
The correct pronunciation of "Bach" was among these versions. Well done for an English native speaker ;)
Well I didn’t know I need to hear Bach Cello music on Tenor sax but apparently I did
Now audiate the cello suite in G played on a bass sax that can reach the low concert C, although I'm sure somebody has already done it
And right after writing that I find out there are several on youtube and you can do it on a baritone too, smh
Nice
Alto clef? Why have you forsaken us? Lmao
1:58 🐔
From Bach to Bebop... It's also the name of a great book of Hal Galper...
Sensacional!!!...🇧🇷
Do you teach a n the Bay Area?
When you turn a meme into a flex moment
Hey. Is that a picture of Charlie Parker playing a Nexus saxophone?
He uploaded this because of the quote he did of bach in the last music video.
最帅LB bach
Is you theory in concert key ?
Yes, all the written music in the video is in concert key!
It looks like that "classical geek" from your last clip had quite an influence on you, getting you to mix Bach & Bird. (At least he didn't destroy your tone.) BTW - new mouthpiece?
Yes :) Nexus!
I read that Charlie Parker loved to eat Bach Choy
You made this because of the Saxologic video didn’t you? 😂
I seriously doubt that
@@charlesgamble4670 did you watch the saxologic video? They talked about Bach
The link between bebop and Bach has long been discussed, so Chad not bandwaggoning.
@@saxiroth6647 Didn't Nathan say "I seriously doubt that" after Chad said he studied Bach? I was trying to reference that.
@@charlesgamble4670 omg I r/whoooosh’d myself lol
Bach would've dug bebop!
Bachbop?
Bebach
My theory is that Jazz is Classical & Blues mixed together. Most of the jazz standards came from movie scores which are classical in nature 🎻
This is Hal Galper great book’s title, you are shameless.
Back to Back.... sorry .... Bach
