Deffo need too witness F/A18's, looking magic in the low golden sunlight, reflections make them appear to change colour. Its the shot that makes it. Stunning! Ted seem to enjoy them. Thought the special jet with 18 on its tail looked great, gives them individuality i think. RAF Leeming has brought alot recently for me. Agreed the view in obscured slightly but if you get too this sort of action its no problem. So much for me still too see in Fighter jet terms. Question? Did you move later in the day? Looks like it. Oii oiii Daniel. Yes mate, we moved to the other end to catch the arrivals in the gorgeous light. This was early days of the TCS almost in sight for our destiny to be the channel we are today. We will be back there next week
Splendid video Ted. So much to see. F/A-18s ( by far and away the best looking combat aircraft in the west ). Shout out to the pilot of 016 for the wave. Some nut-job trying to ski on tarmac! Was that a Foxhound we saw briefly? And best of all The Hawks in their little black party frocks lit by low level sunlight!! all in all a good day at the office of life.
Hi Stephen and a very big thank you for your great comment. There was just so much to see and as usual I brought the luck. We wished we could have stayed for the night sorties but next year for sure. The F/A-18’s are beautiful and have some features that exist in the modern aircraft today. It was a jam packed day and couldn’t resist the Swiss on the ski and skates. But most amazing of all was the light around 1530 and found a great spot to watch them on recovery. And yes! Well spotted for both wave from 016 and the Ocelet / Foxhound. It was all in all a great experience. Recommend Yorknite to anyone. They are here until 10th December. Oh and had to put the Hawk gracefully coming in with the glow from the sun. 🧸🇬🇧

Wow. Really surprised by this video and about RAF Leeming! The landscape , the light and the F-18 beauties A total different feeling to look at to be honest...nice taxi pics and the homecoming F-18 and the Hawk in that autumn sun with that landscape is a highlight....hard to beat but no pressure 😉hehe Tedand Nikos I'm looking forward to Yorknite '22
Oiiii oiiii Luke 🤙🏼 This was our second visit at RAF Leeming and we no idea what Yorknite. We just had to return and check it out. It was also our first time seeing F-18s too. Yorknite is an annual deployment so when we found out that 2022 was going ahead, we just had to get a little slot in there to hopefully bring some live action. They will be carrying some low level flying so we will be hopefully catching them through the Lakes too. Wahhhhhayyyyy
