I love this third new era of NW with Floor. She resurrected the band and took it to the top level. They all look so happy and the band truly sounds like a whole now, better than ever!! :D
A lot more power than Tarja. There are some songs were Tarja sounds better, but Floor is overwhelmingly better on more songs, so much more power. I heard a Stevie Nicks song today and I thought a hamster was singing.
How can you think Tarja is shit? Do your ears have a malfunction? Her presence, and voice helped put that band on the map. Floor is great. But Floor and Anette are/were riding off the name and sound that Tarja built. Without Tarja to start the ball rolling, Nightwish would not be what it is today. I love both of them really, but to be honest, with Tarja I like the studio's version of this much better, definitely. With Floor though I loved her here and in the acoustic, and I believe her studio's version would be great too, I think just like with Ghost Love Score I love her much better than Tarja!
I have no preferences between the singers. Nightwish has always been an incredible band, and all three singers deserve credit for making the band the way it is today.

Modern day contemporary singing just borrows those classifications. So the original comment is correct and calling Brittany Spears a soprano isn’t, even if they sing in the same pitch range.
this is one of the songs that I feel like was totally written for Tarjas voice, only she can bring out the darkness and magic of this song...I remember when I first saw her and this video...I fell instantly in love, its one of the most beautiful nightwish video, Tarja really was a Siren but Floor did great as well, I just prefer Tarjas version , its like this with many of the movies but I like that I can choose who I listen to... only leading Nightwish lady that I never listen almost is Anette cause her voice doesnt just suit me ( doesnt mean she is a bad singer tho)

Floor is honestly the most criminally underrated vocalist in music. And Nightwish are one of the most criminally underrated bands. Ask anyone who isn't a metalhead who Floor Jansen is and they're like "who?". I'm like "if you don't know who Floor Jansen is, you don't deserve to".

Huh?? Everyone talks about him. On every Nightwish video there are many comments praising him, many say he's the best drummer alive. Yes, people talk about Jukka :) And they're so right :)
Drummers are rarely recognized the way that they aught to be, and Jukka knows that he wont be in the spotlight in this show. He doesn't give a crap about it. He does his thing. He spins his drumsticks before every other beat to gain more power to the beat, he's in the moment, he loves the moment, and seems to be even more in it than the audience. This man deserves the respect and gratitude he's due, hell of a job man, I wish that you regain your strength and return to play with the band soon, after this Corona plague has passed.
It's going to be interesting what they do. She has a wider range than they ever had in a vocalist so they have tons of options. I think it'll be the heaviest Nightwish album ever making use of the power of her voice.
I made the mistake of watching the new album trailer the other day and no word of a lie I hyper-ventilated when I heard Tuomas talk about using "everything she has to offer." I had tingles all over my body and couldn't sleep due to the excitement.
Her performance makes me emotional for some reason, it's so much more raw and seems more natural than the previous versions. I can feel the pain sang in the chorus, she gives life to every song
Floor is just perfect for Nightwish. She sounds so great with Tarjas and also with Anettes songs. I hope, she will stay longer than the other ladies. :)
I think Floor's ability to perform both Tarja's and Annette's songs is what makes her the perfect fit for this Nightwish - Tarja might have been a better singer at the start, but I don't know how she would have handled some of Annette's songs
I have favorites from all the Nightwish singers. But yes many NW songs are made for rock singer too, and Floor can do both classical and rock. The band loves Floor, that's what I've read from interviews and how I see them interract. Don't worry! Look at them concerts! She is well received!

I swear the best part of this vid is Marko's face at 3:53. You can see he's having the time of his life with this band and Nemo is one of his personal favorites to perform.
Incredible rendition. She can transition from powerful to soft and back very easily. Her range is fantastic. And most importantly, while technically solid, her singing still conveys a lot of emotion. To be honest, I am more impressed with Floor Jansen than I am with most (if not all) other solid famous female singers I have listened to recently. (Adele, Jessie J., Beyonce) Hopefully, Nightwish will harness this vocal phenom and produce some solid tracks.
A lot of drummers spin their drumsticks in their hands when they're waiting for the next segment. They way Jukka spins his drumsticks between beats, I actually believe they provide him with more power. It's truly amazing to see such a talent on stage, displaying his greatness during one of the bands best songs ever, with a vocalist that wasn't even with the band when they created it. This performance was really one to remember. Floor forever, truly better than Tarja in my opinion for the bands vision. I love you Jukka, I sincerely hope that you regain your power and that you come back to perform with the band. You're why I keep replaying these videos ad infinitum, I'd love to see you live.
This is a different take on this song, but I really like it. Its great that she is incorporating her style to the band's music and not trying to imitate Tarja or Anette. After all, this is a new stage in Nightwish's career. I wish the best for them 😃

Beautiful guitar solo. So many people keep talking about the NW vocalists as though they are the band itself. The vocalist is important, yes, but she is still 1/6 of the band here. I thank Tuomas for crafting such wonderful sounds.
This Wacken 2013 concert is truly one of their best. I've watched practically every video I can find of it, and every song, every member of the band is just in top form. Mind blowing!
I think he'll like having Floor much more than Anette. Anette simply... didn't have the right style for Nightwish, specifically him. In the two albums they had her, this showed badly.
I thought I was dreaming when I 1st heard this. NW and Nemo will always be my fave band and fave song but I stopped following these guys after DPP. Funnily enough while they were working with Anette I was checking out other good symphonic metal bands where I discovered AF, I fell in love with Floor's voice and she became my fave vocalist of all time. Sometime later I stumbled upon this video by accident, lets just say I could barely handle the awesomeness! Then when I heard she scored the permanent position my heart jumped out of my mouth, did a dance on my keyboard then jumped back in again.

I have been a fan of Nightwish since 2001. I have seen and listened to the performances of Tarja, Anette and Floor. To me Floor is the best thing, that could have happened to Nightwish. Yes, Tarja was the first and she will be always in our hearts as the original, but her time is long gone and Nightwish has evolved a lot since then. Anette, was the one that brought a new style of singing therefore required a new style of songs. Don't get me wrong, I really like the songs with Anette a lot but to me personally she never had the volume in her voice and the ability to reach certain high notes that were necessary. Also, in many live performances Tarja and Anette would miss the notes or would avoid them anbd ing a lower note instead of reaching the high pitches. Floor is going the full length in her performances. She has a great volume and her voice reaches the high notes easily and in that whole concert she never missed one single note. Her performance is just mindblowing. She can sing both Tarja's and Anettes song and in my personal opinion outclass them both. Take this song or Ghost Love Score for example. And I hope we will be able to get a lot of new albums and concerts with Floor and Nightwish in the years to come.
I really also love Anette's and Tarja's songs. They are each unique. But I think Floor is the best possible for Nightwish, you can argue that Tarja is a better classical singer or Anetter is a better rock singer. But Floor is amazing in both, and she is wonderful on stage, just loveable person in interviews and off-stage videos. I'm fully in Floor wagon but I still have my Tarja and Anette favorite songs that I like best.
They toke this song to the next level. Not only For has a lot more energy and makes the song a lot more intense, The music is taken to the next level to, it feels bigger, more epic
I love Floor Jansen. Here is a musician who has been doing this all her life, but wasn't getting the wider recognition she has always deserved. She had a nervous breakdown, taking a break from music altogether, and then got the call from Nightwish. And now here she is, giving her everything in this performance. Fully owning it, confident and controlled. Floor Jansen is unparalleled. So glad for her how things worked out - and for Nightwish as well! She resurrected this band and is taking them to new heights

I've liked Nightwish for about twenty years, but I was never all that pleased with Tarja's voice. Then Anette came around as a breath of fresh air, with a completely different style, and Amaranth has stuck with me since it was released. Obviously, I haven't been paying attention to them in the last few years, as I only now found out Anette has been replaced by Floor, and I gotta say she really takes many of Tarja's songs to a whole new level!

Just saw them in LA , May 20th 2022, Wiltern theater a 1800 seater, what, 9 years after this Wacken show, (a couple of new members) and they were magnificent, I' ve seen a few women rockers live in my 70 years, and i was blown away by her, This women has a stage presence in spades and a singing voice that kills. i'm wondering why they are not headlining arenas in the US?
They explored that idea early on, but soon realized it would be highly unethical as it would look like the band was trying to erase their previous singers from history and rewrite their biography without Tarja and Annette having ever made contributions to the band. It also would've brought certain legal challenges with it as Tarja and Annette's attorneys could easily make the claim Nightwish was only re-releasing their songs with a new vocalist just to get out of paying Tarja and Annette their shares of the royalties from the albums they recorded with the band. A judge would most likely have ruled in their favor, deciding that Nightwish was indeed violating the terms of the severance agreements they negotiated with Tarja and Annette. This would've left both Nightwish and Nuclear Blast Records open to lawsuits had they re-recorded their back catalogue of music with Floor on vocals. Thus, it was quickly decided not to pursue this.

I watched Tarja live at the end of 2014 and I was amazed. Now I really want to see the new Nightwish live. I stopped listening to these guys when Anette was the vocalist, but now I'm a Nightwish fan again and I really want to see them live sometime in the future! Floor Jansen is AWESOME! : )))

She is a beast! this girl is a real beast on the stage! Tarja has first place when it comes to coice for me, but this girl is really really good too! I am happy that I can listen to Nightwish again. I really like the songs they write, but with Annete...never got used to her voice.

@RockeT You haven't listened Tarja much then. She has a very powerful voice, here she sings many songs without microphone: Ave Maria Christmas concert 2015 th-cam.com/video/AdpezOUYMqc/w-d-xo.html. (Edited the opera piece away, as they seem to have microphones, I don't know if they go to amplifiers for the audience, because in opera you don't usually use microphones). In a rock/metal band without microphone you can't hear the singer at all. In the soundcheck they adjust how much the singer comes over the instruments. If the singer disappears then they planned so or failed in soundcheck. Only singing without microphone can you tell how powerful they are.

@@Aurinkohirvi To make it clear, Tarja is more skillful than Floor and you can say that her (Tarja) voice is more powerful in some sense. But the problem is that it makes the listeners feel that she is holding back, and thus she doesn't perform this particular song as good Floor does.
How do you know how powerful the voice is? In rock consert the singer is just as powerful as the microphone is adjusted: can't hear a thing without microphone! If you listened Anette's albums you can hear her belting a lot, and she is a rock singer. Also, Floor doesn't much sing operatic style in Nightwish - I haven't seen anyways, she has only one year of classical training and is hardly a beginner with the style. Floor sings mostly contemporary style, also Ghost Love Score is a contemporary (not classical) style song both by Tarja and Floor. Tarja's first 3 albums were classical style sung, her last 2 albums contemporary style.

I like her voice very much but there is no compare to Floor's powerful voice.

Louder voice could be more powerful, or voice with more bass. I've heard a few songs where Floor uses her classical singing, like I said. @@Aurinkohirvi Let me try to explain powerful voice as simple, it has to be loud of course, but given a same amount of volume on the mic, the powerful ones will be much louder, and yes of course the powerful voice can sing high notes with an ease, like an explosion, not struggling too hard to keep in tone to prevent flat or sharp, if the voice is less powerful, they will sound like they're trying too hard and they'll sound like they are struggling to keep in tone when they sing a high notes plus long range, long range is one of a measure, it is when one sing a song and when they sing a long range without stoping or breathing in between, this is more difficult when the notes gets higher, floor can sing high notes wit an ease, and long range without disturbing her breathing. easy way of saying how long can a person sing without breathing, powerful voice can do it easily for very long seconds, even on the high notes

It's going to be interesting what they do. She has a wider range than they ever had in a vocalist so they have tons of options. I think it'll be the heaviest Nightwish album ever making use of the power of her voice.
I made the mistake of watching the new album trailer the other day and no word of a lie I hyper-ventilated when I heard Tuomas talk about using "everything she has to offer." I had tingles all over my body and couldn't sleep due to the excitement.
Floor's voice is so beautifully powerful. Even the lighter touches of her voice shine through. Love this version. ❤️

Her performance makes me emotional for some reason, it's so much more raw and seems more natural than the previous versions. I can feel the pain sang in the chorus, she gives life to every song

I think Floor's ability to perform both Tarja's and Annette's songs is what makes her the perfect fit for this Nightwish - Tarja might have been a better singer at the start, but I don't know how she would have handled some of Annette's songs
I have favorites from all the Nightwish singers. But yes many NW songs are made for rock singer too, and Floor can do both classical and rock.
The band loves Floor, that's what I've read from interviews and how I see them interract. Don't worry! Look at them concerts! She is well received!

Incredible rendition. She can transition from powerful to soft and back very easily. Her range is fantastic. And most importantly, while technically solid, her singing still conveys a lot of emotion. To be honest, I am more impressed with Floor Jansen than I am with most (if not all) other solid famous female singers I have listened to recently. (Adele, Jessie J., Beyonce) Hopefully, Nightwish will harness this vocal phenom and produce some solid tracks.

A lot of drummers spin their drumsticks in their hands when they're waiting for the next segment. They way Jukka spins his drumsticks between beats, I actually believe they provide him with more power. It's truly amazing to see such a talent on stage, displaying his greatness during one of the bands best songs ever, with a vocalist that wasn't even with the band when they created it. This performance was really one to remember. Floor forever, truly better than Tarja in my opinion for the bands vision.
I love you Jukka, I sincerely hope that you regain your power and that you come back to perform with the band. You're why I keep replaying these videos ad infinitum, I'd love to see you live.
This concert in particular shows how Floor saved Nightwish, Nightwish saved Floor and that union went stratospheric.
This is a different take on this song, but I really like it. Its great that she is incorporating her style to the band's music and not trying to imitate Tarja or Anette. After all, this is a new stage in Nightwish's career. I wish the best for them 😃

Floor is not reinventing the wheel on even the Imaginaerum songs but I can't wait for Tuomas to write for her. Beautiful guitar solo. So many people keep talking about the NW vocalists as though they are the band itself. The vocalist is important, yes, but she is still 1/6 of the band here. I thank Tuomas for crafting such wonderful sounds.

I think he'll like having Floor much more than Anette. Anette simply... didn't have the right style for Nightwish, specifically him. In the two albums they had her, this showed badly.
I thought I was dreaming when I 1st heard this. NW and Nemo will always be my fave band and fave song but I stopped following these guys after DPP. Funnily enough while they were working with Anette I was checking out other good symphonic metal bands where I discovered AF, I fell in love with Floor's voice and she became my fave vocalist of all time. Sometime later I stumbled upon this video by accident, lets just say I could barely handle the awesomeness!
Then when I heard she scored the permanent position my heart jumped out of my mouth, did a dance on my keyboard then jumped back in again.

I have been a fan of Nightwish since 2001. I have seen and listened to the performances of Tarja, Anette and Floor.
To me Floor is the best thing, that could have happened to Nightwish. Yes, Tarja was the first and she will be always in our hearts as the original, but her time is long gone and Nightwish has evolved a lot since then. Anette, was the one that brought a new style of singing therefore required a new style of songs. Don't get me wrong, I really like the songs with Anette a lot but to me personally she never had the volume in her voice and the ability to reach certain high notes that were necessary. Also, in many live performances Tarja and Anette would miss the notes or would avoid them anbd ing a lower note instead of reaching the high pitches.
Floor is going the full length in her performances. She has a great volume and her voice reaches the high notes easily and in that whole concert she never missed one single note.
Her performance is just mindblowing. She can sing both Tarja's and Anettes song and in my personal opinion outclass them both. Take this song or Ghost Love Score for example.
And I hope we will be able to get a lot of new albums and concerts with Floor and Nightwish in the years to come.
I really also love Anette's and Tarja's songs. They are each unique.
But I think Floor is the best possible for Nightwish, you can argue that Tarja is a better classical singer or Anetter is a better rock singer. But Floor is amazing in both, and she is wonderful on stage, just loveable person in interviews and off-stage videos. I'm fully in Floor wagon but I still have my Tarja and Anette favorite songs that I like best.

I love Floor Jansen. Here is a musician who has been doing this all her life, but wasn't getting the wider recognition she has always deserved. She had a nervous breakdown, taking a break from music altogether, and then got the call from Nightwish. And now here she is, giving her everything in this performance. Fully owning it, confident and controlled. Floor Jansen is unparalleled. So glad for her how things worked out - and for Nightwish as well! She resurrected this band and is taking them to new heights

I've liked Nightwish for about twenty years, but I was never all that pleased with Tarja's voice. Then Anette came around as a breath of fresh air, with a completely different style, and Amaranth has stuck with me since it was released.
Obviously, I haven't been paying attention to them in the last few years, as I only now found out Anette has been replaced by Floor, and I gotta say she really takes many of Tarja's songs to a whole new level!

Just saw them in LA , May 20th 2022, Wiltern theater a 1800 seater, what, 9 years after this Wacken show, (a couple of new members) and they were magnificent, I' ve seen a few women rockers live in my 70 years, and i was blown away by her, This women has a stage presence in spades and a singing voice that kills. i'm wondering why they are not headlining arenas

They should make a studio album of their older songs but as a remake with Floor.
They explored that idea early on, but soon realized it would be highly unethical as it would look like the band was trying to erase their previous singers from history and rewrite their biography without Tarja and Annette having ever made contributions to the band.
It also would've brought certain legal challenges with it as Tarja and Annette's attorneys could easily make the claim Nightwish was only re-releasing their songs with a new vocalist just to get out of paying Tarja and Annette their shares of the royalties from the albums they recorded with the band. A judge would most likely have ruled in their favor, deciding that Nightwish was indeed violating the terms of the severance agreements they negotiated with Tarja and Annette. This would've left both Nightwish and Nuclear Blast Records open to lawsuits had they re-recorded their back catalogue of music with Floor on vocals. Thus, it was quickly decided not to pursue this.

I watched Tarja live at the end of 2014 and I was amazed. Now I really want to see the new Nightwish live. I stopped listening to these guys when Anette was the vocalist, but now I'm a Nightwish fan again and I really want to see them live sometime in the future! Floor Jansen is AWESOME! : )))

(Edited the opera piece away, as they seem to have microphones, I don't know if they go to amplifiers for the audience, because in opera you don't usually use microphones). In a rock/metal band without microphone you can't hear the singer at all. In the soundcheck they adjust how much the singer comes over the instruments. If the singer disappears then they planned so or failed in soundcheck. Only singing without microphone can you tell how powerful they are.

@@Aurinkohirvi To make it clear, Tarja is more skillful than Floor and you can say that her (Tarja) voice is more powerful in some sense. But the problem is that it makes the listeners feel that she is holding back, and thus she doesn't perform this particular song as good Floor does.

How do you know how powerful the voice is? In rock consert the singer is just as powerful as the microphone is adjusted: can't hear a thing without microphone! If you listened Anette's albums you can hear her belting a lot, and she is a rock singer. Also, Floor doesn't much sing operatic style in Nightwish - I haven't seen anyways, she has only one year of classical training and is hardly a beginner with the style. Floor sings mostly contemporary style, also Ghost Love Score is a contemporary (not classical) style song both by Tarja and Floor. Tarja's first 3 albums were classical style sung, her last 2 albums contemporary style.
But IF one sings opera style, that is more powerful than rock-pop style, that's the point of it.
@@Aurinkohirvi so you are saying my sister will sing and can be more powerful than floor depending on the sound mixing or microphone?LOL,,, we call that volume and sound mixing, and you haven't listen floor with an operatic song? that is another LOL, Anette's voice is not powerful at all, she is good in studio but rarely in live. in studio you can take time as much as you want and the voice doesn't get tired and can be recorded part by part, but in live there is no stop in between and you cant say my voice is tired because its live, therefore i haven't seen much of Anette's good live performance (just a few of them) because her voice is not powerful enough to take a full sprint of performance. I like her voice very much but there is no compare to Floor's powerful voice.
@@lallawmsanga5080 Feel free to define powerful. I've looked into it and it's most often understood as voice that makes a big influence on you. Louder voice could be more powerful, or voice with more bass. I've heard a few songs where Floor uses her classical singing, like I said. (Edit:) There aren't many in Nightwish where she would sing classical style, for the very obvious reason: no skill for it.
@@Aurinkohirvi Let me try to explain powerful voice as simple, it has to be loud of course, but given a same amount of volume on the mic, the powerful ones will be much louder, and yes of course the powerful voice can sing high notes with an ease, like an explosion, not struggling too hard to keep in tone to prevent flat or sharp, if the voice is less powerful, they will sound like they're trying too hard and they'll sound like they are struggling to keep in tone when they sing a high notes plus long range, long range is one of a measure, it is when one sing a song and when they sing a long range without stoping or breathing in between, this is more difficult when the notes gets higher, floor can sing high notes wit an ease, and long range without disturbing her breathing. easy way of saying how long can a person sing without breathing, powerful voice can do it easily for very long seconds, even on the high notes
Everyone in the last time maybe love Tarja so much, and me too...but for now and the next time...Floor is never changed, She is true wonder Woman....
