  • In this video, I will demonstrate how I use the Mission Engineering TT-2 Dual Switch in conjunction with the Fractal Audio FM3 to gain easy access to the tuner on the FM3 as well as toggle between Presets and Scenes on the FM3.
    Here is the link to the thread on the forums that has the details on how I configured the FM3 with the TT-2 forum.fractala...

    This is a great, great idea! Be able to mute the tuner and have immediate access is a life saver in live situations. Thank you very much!

    I just ordered one of these and was a bit nervous about being able to do all I need it to with only 3 switches but seeing this makes me feel a lot more confident.

      Totally doable. It's been working great. I will say, it really helps to connect to a laptop and use FM3 Edit when you're building presets.

    Hey Ryan, this was incredibly helpful with my FM3 - thank you! Thanks to the advice on the forum and your video here, I have my dual external switch set to left-tap = switch between presets or scenes; left-hold = cycle through the scene pages; right-tap = tuner on/off. Awesome!

    Super helpful. Was looking for this regarding tuner. I imagine instead of scenes you can make the 2nd button tap tempo instead?

  • @TurboCult
    @TurboCult หลายเดือนก่อน

    You can get to the tuner in scenes mode by holding down the right button until you're all the way at the end of the 8 scenes for that preset and it'll be the 9th one.

    • @RyanMcMurray
      @RyanMcMurray  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TurboCult Indeed. The fact that the tuner is buried that far down is the main factor for a fair bit of the configuration laid out in the video.

    Man you can assign the tuner wherever you want, I have the first switch if hold it takes you back to the fourth view of scenes, that for me is: 1 sw scene 8, 2 sw tuner, 3 sw tap tempo.
    So in 1 click, I go "back" to the fourth view and another click I'm on tuner

    • @RyanMcMurray
      @RyanMcMurray  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. I’m just not a fan of having to balance on one foot long enough to hold a switch down. I like pressing a switch and then putting my foot back on the floor :)

  • @stm113
    @stm113 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you ever do a video on how to set up the fs to toggle to tuner instantly rather than having to hold? I have an fm9 and I can't figure it out, I can get hold to tuner but I want instant.

    • @RyanMcMurray
      @RyanMcMurray  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Shawn! In my video you’ll see that a hold is not required in the way my FM3 is set up to turn on/off the tuner. Check out the link in the description. It will take you to the forum thread where I describe the settings I used to achieve this.

    If the tuner is muting the input, how is it tuning the guitar?

    • @RyanMcMurray
      @RyanMcMurray  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see what you mean. The wording on it’s face is tricky. Basically, if you choose to mute output then when you go to tuner it would silence any existing output (delay, loop, etc.), but if you choose mute input, no more input signal will be passed to output. Make more sense now?

  • @lukenolin1105
    @lukenolin1105 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Was curious if a foot switch like this could be programmed to switch to specific scenes, or if it only works for more general functions like accessing the tuner and scenes view?

    • @RyanMcMurray
      @RyanMcMurray  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, but I imagine the programmable flexibility is there in the FM3 to program it to where say, left switch chooses scene 4 and right switch chooses scene 5. Then you could effectively have active switches for scene 1, 2 and 3 on board the FM3 and scene 4 and 5 from the switch.

    • @lukenolin1105

      trs = 2switches each. two cables in fm3 = 4 switches

  • @leighmissen7716
    @leighmissen7716 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi there. Is it possible to use the tt2 to just go between presets. And leave the fm3 switches in scene mode?

    • @RyanMcMurray
      @RyanMcMurray  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I imagine this is very possible, but offhand I am unable to tell you how exactly to do this. I would suggest though to go to the link in the description box and as you read through the detailed steps, think on how to slightly adjust a given step to fit your needs. Basically, it should involve just choosing a different option in one of the menus.
