I went into anaphylactic shock for the first time a couple weeks ago and ended up in the ICU. I've been having anxiety attacks ever since. I'm grateful you made this video, helps me not feel so alone in this struggle.

You are the sweetest thing and so so so strong! I feel for you so much. I hope you've been doing better! My story is similar but different. I actually developed health anxiety and post traumatic stress from my best friend having a heart attack next to me. I had always been a worrier but that experience made me afraid to walk or do anything that increased my heart rate! So I had to withdraw from all my classes to save my GPA, and owe so much from dropping out every semester I think I can come back and then not being able to. But anyways, 3 years later and in a lot batter place, since I've always been sneezy and allergic and was having issues breathing, I got allergy tested. I am allergic to almost everything they tested that grows and got back a long list of food allergies. I'm 23 and I've never experienced an anaphylactic reaction. That wasn't even on my health anxiety radar! But now it's all I've been thinking about. Panic attacks feel similar to some people's anaphylaxis so I can panic and have no idea if it's an allergic reaction or if I need to use an epipen or if I'm going to go into cardiac arrest if I don't or if I do... I would love to see a video of any tips you have now or how you are doing!

I was rushed to hospital lastnight . The entire experience a few min after eating and on wards was terrifying to say the least ! As of today I have to carry epi with me everywhere and food exc is a horrible thought ! Hearing you talk about the fact you have had this happen many times the first time is enough for me to feel mentally debilitated /scared

Have you ever heard of the tolerance induction program at the Southern California food allergy institute? You may want to look into their program. It is a long expensive journey, but food allergy remission is the end game there! My son is currently a patient.

Thank you for sharing your story. As a mom of an 11 year old girl with peanut allergies I see much of what she goes through in your story. I can't wait to see how your journey unfolds and how you take back your life. Best of luck to you, you got this!

I just found out that I'm allergic to shellfish. I'm absolutely terrified of food. However I am so obsessive about reading labels. The anxiety is so consuming. The best way I can describe it is: every time I eat, it feels like a gun to the back of my head. Will the gun go off and kill me or no? 😩 I hope things have gotten easier for you! ❤️

Do you ever eat anything and start feeling funny thinking your having a reaction to the food now and it end up only benign anxiety or a panic attack and not and acutely allergic reaction or anaphylaxis?
