I love this reel caught a 40" red fish on it and a 45" black drum, it held it's own. I've had it for about a year and haven't had any problems. Good bang for your buck small, light, and strong. My go to.

Not a bad reel I’ve caught plenty of fish on it fishing in the gulf I’ve landed red drum, bonnet head shark, trigger fish, spade fish, sheep head

You had that problem because of the side you put it on it would be like flipping the cranks on your bike every time you would go to pedal or move it loosens i habe this reel nothing but problems because of how small it is this is alot more common problem in cheaper reels but if you are left handed you just need to spend a little more $ to get a rigjt hand retrive try the lews exfiity speed spool spinning reel at wall Mart an excelent upgrade i just got o e its sooo nice

You need to clean the threads with a degreaser, such as Gun Scrubber, before using Lock-tite. Do not get the solvent on plastic parts.
