I prefer Luther and Mariah´s version. Their voices matches absolutely amazing and the control of the dynamics makes the song more soulful and romantic. Nothing against the original but in this case the cover is better in every aspect.

No offense to any original artist but when Mariah carey covers your song, it’s her song. Without you is a great example. She made it an international hit and frankly a haunting gorgeous power ballad. Her vocal prowess doesn’t come at the expensive of emotion which is what I love about her. She can over sing but she chooses not to.
