The Trident sounds like it could continue to run for a while yet. I can't imagine the BYD being around in 16 years with the cost of replacing batteries when they degrade past the point of being useable. The majority of TFGM Optare hybrids went after only 11 years because of worn out battery packs, which is a shame because they sounded rather interesting.
Both are ADL products so the buses will eventually rattle themselves to bits as I'm seeing with the 11-63 reg Enviro400s on my local route after they got rid of 08/58 reg Scania Omnicities...
I do hope batteries get cheaper in the coming years or at least repairing them is cheaper because as much as I love the diesel these things are getting 4 to 8 mpg And from what I can tell the electric ones are getting 15 to 20 equivalent might be able to drive the fuel price back down some if public transport wasn't so reliant on diesel But for now batteries prices make it impossible
That E400 sounds absolutely amazing 0:34 best part fr
This is amazing and I enjoyed it very much. Always looking forward to new adventures on your channel. Thanks very much! : )
Glad you enjoyed it!

Indeed, the cost of battery packs are pretty astronomical...

Funny how I was born in the same year as the E400 (2008), I’m turning 16 this July.
Nice, I think you got to see the best era of buses in my opinion
the interior of the 16 year old bus looks rather modern tbh...
It's fully low floor too

Yeah once batteries are cheaper to replace then I believe they can be in widespread use
Do like the diesel bus as can heard the engine and voith from gearbox in old bus models
Same! Love the sound of buses
Ex Wigan 19257 with its nice sounding voith 😊
Quite a few of these have very nice sounding voiths and I'm happy to see them as part of the bee network
@@glitchFan2428 yeah nice to see they’ll be around for a fair while yet🙂
@@alexturton2910 and the JPT twins too 😁😁
@@glitchFan2428 absolutely the JPT twins😁 long live the beasts😄
Voith E400 beats the BYD plus as others said I doubt they would last like 15-16 years perhaps 10-12 years to be more realistic
Yeah the older vehicles were built to last
I will miss a good old diesel bus
I will too!
I like Enviro 400 Ev
It's a BYD chassis and motor, similar to those in Singapore I believe
19257 is a Euro 4 not a Euro 3
Its Euro6 converted.
Wait, MMC is 16 years old already?! Shit.....I feel old.
I just realised that the E400 with this face is not MMC but E500 with this face is MMC.. I'm confused 🤔🤔
It's not an mmc
@@Tr7ln yeah I got confused. The enviro 500 with this exact face is a MMC, but not the this 400.
