Honda has really made a winner with this new Pilot. It is luxurious, spacious, functional, and stylish! I like it! Great job Honda, keep up the good work.
I can't get over how much the new pilot looks like a giant CRV now. Don't get me wrong though, it's not that bad but I just wish they would have made it look a little more rugged and less like a CRV/Mini-van.
Are you sure they didn't give you an Odyssey? I own a 2012 Pilot. Purchased the thing because It looked different than everything else out there while being Honda-practical. But you said well, this new vehicle can easily be confused for anything else out there, including the likes of Odyssey, CRV, Sorento, Highlander...
Nope they are lying!!! Cause I just bought this car. The hard thing is to figured out where the buttons are. Kinda like getting the first touch screen cellphone. Once you figued it out, easy.
I own two pilots and I just can't begin to like this one. It's to van like for my tastes. It's suspension and body integrity seem to be lesser than that of previous generations. The generation one and two of the pilot handle extremely well for what they are. This one does not seem to carry on the same trait. I prefer the knob joystick control of the 2015 cars navigation system over a touch screen. It is easier to use white driving. It does not require you to take your eyes off the road as much as a touch screen does. However that is just my option. I do like the safety features of the new car and the new engine.
As a 2014 pilot owner I agree. They made this look like a big mini-van instead of an suv. Yuck! Some upgrades seem nice, like the newer transmission and push button start. But I can't get over the exterior looks. And the older tonka truck look seem to have more interior room. My 2014 has a bunch more leg room than this new one in the 2nd row.
Not sure about that "European" look. Appears to be a larger CR-V which is fine I guess if you like that look. Which is just so-so. Any whoo, have you seen What is coming out of Europe these days? Yea, not too attractive. But, as it is a Honda sure it will be refined and dependable.
I don't get why the driver seat of Honda and Toyota always have more adjustability that the front passenger seat. How much money they can save by doing that? Seriously.
your good and also your honda pilot is also good except not every person who reviewed this will tell you the issues with vcm engine...still the same shit at all from 2009 to 2017 vcm engine noise and vibration..dealer will tell you its normal nd u r not gonna win at all..10 yrs they addedd for the engine vcm issues..but the dealers always say its normal nd u r free to go with pain nd headache.. solution...use VCMuzzler electeonics from e bay to bypass vcm activation...now u will b running 6 postons all the time...Now thats a good review from me....
It does look very similar to a new CRV. My sister has a 2012 black CRV and the front end looks almost identical to this new Pilot. But of course, the Pilot is wider, longer, higher, and much more nicer both interior and exterior wise.
All the Mercedes Benz's BMW's Audi's are look-alike ... do you whine when it comes to them? NO! Stop hating and start appreciating that you are getting an honestly built reliable car unlike European crooked companies' junks.
I used to be a subscriber to your channel but I can no longer subscribe because youtube has implemented a video player that is not compatible with my kindle fire HD. I can't watch any of your videos, neither can a lot of other viewers who have kindle fires. If your subscriber numbers start to decrease this is probably why.
Honda has whittled down the aluminum front suspension control arms, to a point that I wouldn't trust them for even a large pot hole, not to mention any off road driving, on a 4,000 pound car. I've studied car and truck suspension for 30yrs, and the front suspension on the 2016 pilot, goes against a metallurgical report about aluminum use on suspension, that states since aluminum can crack if struck hard, more aluminum should be used for control arms, to equal the strength of steel. These look weak.
Honda has a IDS system which allows the car to be in different driving modes. Sand, snow, rain, and I forgot the 4th one. Honda actually got the car stuck and they pulled it out by using the IDS system and it pulled it self out by itself, just the car.
Monkey D. Luffy Thanks for your response, I stand corrected. In a metallurgical report I read, they stated more aluminum needs to be used, do to the structure of aluminum to equal the strength of steel. The only report I could find, specific to aluminum use in auto suspension. Do you know if GM and Ram use that same grade.
This pilot don't have apple car play nor HDMI outlet. that's why I cant play a video or my Netflix in the head unit... I'm disappointed with this pilot... I have 2016 exl w/ navi...
lol pass:) keep your 2nd gen pilots it is way better.if up like this buy an odyssey its looks the same and is almost the same in everyday:) this is a new car that won't sell well
This is going to sell well and is much better than the second generation Pilot. My parents were going to purchase a 2012 Pilot and I'm so glad we never did because of how outdated it is now :)
This does not look like the Odyssey. I don't know what you're smoking, but the new generation Pilot is an eye catcher. The ride is much more smooth and fun, technology is up to date, more responsive and better handling, and a better MPG. Design wise, Honda and Acura are really stepping up their game.

I checked this pilot at the NY Auto show and was impressed and being 6'1" I had no problem sitting in the third row
I can't get over how much the new pilot looks like a giant CRV now. Don't get me wrong though, it's not that bad but I just wish they would have made it look a little more rugged and less like a CRV/Mini-van.
gnarly radical for sure dude

Has the touchscreen improved? I read many complaints about how slow and unresponsive the controls are.
Yvcv
***** Huh?
Nope they are lying!!! Cause I just bought this car. The hard thing is to figured out where the buttons are. Kinda like getting the first touch screen cellphone. Once you figued it out, easy.
+Megatron2013 My 15 civic coupe has the screen and I dont see the slow, unresponsive claims on mine.
Kellan Larson Cool. That's good to hear.
I prefer the box type look like the previous model, this looks like it was built for soccer moms.
I just bought a 2016 exl love it
What is your mileage like?
@@Rob774 when i bought it 2 years ago it had around 81k. Now o have about 124k

They need to do a new Ridgeline with this kind of interior
Luke Hoisington The Ridgeline needs to stay on paper.
Josh McCarthy the Ridgeline is coming out next year all new
***** what does that mean
Andres Santana :-)him
Doesn't the Kia Sorrento also rival the Pilot?
It's my favorite! !
Looks like, and is, a minivan.

...Glad u got dressed up for the review...;-)
Is there a spare tire?
Yes
Honda could make their cars ride smoother by leaving the suspension off altogether.
I'm willing to bet there will be a ton of reliability issues with this new generation Pilot.
I liked the body look better it set it apart now it's the same as everything else

Am I the only one who thought it was a cr-v by the thumbnail photo?

Fussinated well said
It's a mini Odyssey
yet you are a mega hater
That passenger side view mirror looks so downmarket and unsophisticated with that bulging camera sticking out its not even funny
+n777ua You have quite the discriminating tastes for someone shopping Hondas.

As the man driver in the family, please bring back the exposed dual tailpipes, the new Pilot does not looks as good without them
It looks like a slightly larger CR-V
fetish for hollow metal tubes at the back of your car?

ron mortensen they are high tensile aircraft grade aluminum control arms. 2x the strength of the old steel ones.

Al H. I'm smoking the good stuff:)
+Anthony Go The good stuff? I dont think so. If it was the good stuff, you would not say: Looks like a MiniVan
too big
ugly minivan
Just stick with your garbage american cars...
stereotypical hater
A slow lumbering whale with no frame no 4x4 it is a van nothing more
