Вот я сейчас смотрю.... это видео, и ЖИВЫЕ(!) эмоции настолько переполняют меня, что жутко закружилась голова....!!!!! (-все зависит от того КАК Вы ощущаете..... и этот СТРАННЫЙ МНОГОЛИКИЙ и такой МНОГОГРАННЫЙ МИР...., и страдания других людей, способны ли Вы ощутить метания Души другого человека...., понимая с ЧЕМ это связано и почему..... (есть IQ и EQ..... - и это совершенно разные вещи.....)

Нас с мужем в балете всегда восхищал выдающийся танцовщик Владимир Васильев.Но как танцует Сергей Полунин это просто неповторимо. Как жаль, что муж не увидел этого чуда,он умер...

Before the end of my life (I turn 67 this year), one of the items on my bucket list is to see Mr. Polunin in a solo performance live. I also didn't know anything about him until I recently came across his video performing Hozier's "Take Me to Church." All I could think of was the classical Lucifer, the fallen angel. Awesome, awesome talent for it all -- the dance, athleticism, emoting.... a really beautiful man with such grace and strength.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. The video was lovely. The "Take me to church" video is one of my favourites. His leaps are effortless and his running with the foot drag is amazing. Rudolph and Mikhail and Sergei are names we will always remember. I like the fact that Sergei is trying to bring dance to the masses. Amazing man with a plan.
In case you have already watched the documentary "The Dancer" which is about his life, then you 'll probably have seen the part where he explains that video. He chose the music, made the choreography and filmed it with a company as an effort to create a new path in her carreer as a ballet dancer. So "take me to church" was a video created for you tube with him dancing that specific song. The rest like mine, take scenes from this choreography and other clips and try to combine it with music :) So it goes without saying that "take me to church" is by far the best video around :)
Thanks you for that. I'm not that up to date on these tech things. I haven't seen the dancer and wondered how you personally made the video. Have you ever seen him live?
I haven't seen him personally :( I live in Greece and he has never performed here (as far as I know). Almost half of the scenes are from the documentary. The tattoo on his foot is a greek word meaning Achilles. I picked up the song "Caruso" because it's mentioned in the documentary that this has always been one of his favorite to dance using his own choreography and there is a scene, where he is dressed in black where he's actually dancing this particular song. All the other scenes are taken from that documentary, the videoclip "take me to church" and other footage uploaded on TH-cam. I just tried to match his favorite song with scenes that already existed in TH-cam to create the illussion that he's dancing to this specific music while the truth is, that he 's actually dancing to this song only for a few seconds :)

I have just discovered this powerful collaboration of talents by accident. Loved every second of it. In 2017 I did not even know the name Polunin...
Don't stress about it. It was the "take me church" video which caught my attention. (I watch dancers for ages on TH-cam) and then I watched "the dancer" and then I discovered more videos online etc :) Don't worry, a lot of people, including me, discovered him almost by "accident"

The connections/paralelism you show us from Sergei’s several works is stunning, I guess the fact that he seems to keep himself grounded and he is not being fake allows us to see him in a very pure and kind of unchanging persona (if this make any kind of sense to you!).

I’ve watched some‘great masters ‘ of ballet since I was a child. I’ve never seen another dancer that is strong enough to suspend themselves in air as long as he does. He’s gravity defying. Oh it has been one of my greatest desires to have that gift.
As Nureyev was advised,it’s not so much about how high you can jump but how long you can hang in the air which captivates an audience and boy can Sergei seem to defy gravity.Bravo!

The song is one of Sergei's favorites choices to dance and the point where he's dancing at his old dance school he is actually dancing to this. I just did the editing because I wanted to have a video with his favorite music on it. I am glad that you enjoyed it :)

this edit was made using footage from the documentary "the dancer" and TH-cam videos :) I have never seen him on stage in real life and there are only a few videos of him actually dancing, so I edit those along with music. This one is edited based on the idea that this is one of his favorite songs to dance. (He is talking about this at the documentary). Hes a dancer through and through. Interesting because they said there were tears in carusos voice. There are tears in this dancers movement also. Very appropriate then to have this song playing as the dancer performs.

yes, that's right. that comes from greek mythology where the right foot was aquiles only valnurable spot. Taking into concideration the many injuries that he has suffered due to training and hard work, his feet are his strength and his weakness at the same time :)

The song is called Caruso and it's a cover by Luciano Pavarotti, a famous opera singer. It's mentioned at "the dancer" documentary that this song in particular is one of Sergei Polunin's favorite songs to dance, that's why I chose this particular song for the video. :) Thank you for your comment :)
