Learn to Inline Skate Part Two: First Drills

  • In Part One of my inline skating tutorial I showed you how to take your first few strides on inline skate. Now I show you how to take your rollerblading to the next level by giving you some beginners' drills that you can work on to start feeling more comfortable while skating, as well as teach you the first basics of turning and crossing over.
    Inline skating is a lot of fun, and I used it every summer during my professional hockey career as a great form of crosstraining. Anybody can learn it, you can do it just about anywhere there is pavement, and it's fun!

      Because stopping on inline skates is an extremely difficult skill, unlike on ice. It’s not a beginners skill at all. Beginners need to have a rubber stopper put on their blades, then they can stop just by lifting their toe.

    Sir..in your honest opinion....how long it takes for a total beginner to learn average in inline skating..thanks for the answer in advance

      It depends on your athletic background. If you already a good athlete, you can skate averagely in about a month. If you are a poor athlete, it could take a couple of years.

    How do we stop?!

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A real hockey stop is extremely difficult on rollerblades. You’re best off buying a rubber stopper to put on the back of one of the skates, or try dragging one leg behind you sideways

      That’s very strange, I‘m not sure, because when you lean forward you automatically fall back less.

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah thats the tougher part because you need for strength for it then going out. Don't go out quite as wide- then it's easier to go back in!

    just noticed a very dangerous thing... your inline skates are not mounted tight enough to your feet... around the chints and ankles your inlines need to be tight... otherwhise you'll fall pretty quickly if you go for speed...

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      No that’s a matter of preference. Some people prefer tighter some looser.

  • @iHustleLXXXI

    Rudimentary. Most hockey players who can ice skate can already skate in-line. In-line is much easier than in ice. Good video but if you know how to play hockey on ice you will not need this.

    • @MarcelsHockeySchool
      @MarcelsHockeySchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but there are a lot of skaters in countries with few ice rinks who are watching these- that’s why I make them. And also a lot who like to inline skate recreationally but have no desire to play hockey.
