Nemophila are a great band.. Mayus voice can go from clean, to rasp, to Banshee growl in a heartbeat, then back again.. many songs w/out the growl, many with the mixed growl in different ways, but they do not adhere to any genre.. very diverse.. musicianship is off the charts for each of these face melting ladies
My favorite band for about three years now (they've been around for 3.5 or so). Mayu's amazing combination of "smoky" cleans and insane fry screams are just one reason of many. Great instrumental technique all around, fantastic chemistry, and their live shows are an avalanche of charisma.
Nemophila is an amazing band - essentially a "super group" from several Japanese all-female metal bands. It's difficult to tell, but the individual musicians have been around for a while, and they're much older than they look. Their (in my opinion) best song is Adabana - great musicianship, super chuggy riffs, great vocals and catchy chorus (not to mention great drum fills before the solos - the drummer is probably the most accomplished of all of them). It's on their channel: th-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/w-d-xo.html - love your guys reactions, honest, yet appreciative of great musicianship.
Great job guys! You are hitting all the nails on the head (LoveBites "Judgment Day", Nemophila - "Disscension")! The only missing piece now is the last of the awesome trio, BandMaid's "From Now On". A little more on the hard rock side, but every bit as good as these two. And what a surprise, another all female Japanese band. Three of the most awesome bands on the planet. BandMaid has been in the lead for a while, but it's becoming more of a toss up lately. ROCK ON Japanese Girl Bands! And a little off topic, but you don't want to miss YOYOKA, a 13 year old Japanese drummer who made DrummerWorld's top 500 drummers of ALL TIME at Age 11, youngest ever. None of the girls in the above songs made the list, although they all should have. Just saying, she is top notch! Try " Burn - Deep Purple / Covered by Yoyoka Soma " th-cam.com/video/uhzX9QbH3js/w-d-xo.html. She was highly praised by the Deep Purple Drummer, Ian Paice for this cover, so much so that he invited her to do a virtual colab during Covid. She already has more accomplishments, than almost any adult drummer. 8 endorsements, most of them are youngest ever. Thanks guys!
In March they have concerts in the USA: 07 Roseville, 08 San Francisco, 09 Los Angeles, 12 San Diego, 14 Houston, 16-17 Austin, 19 Dallas, 20 New York. It's definitely worth going. Maybe a location will suit you?
If you like a mixture of harsh and clean vocals, you can try Japanese band "Broken by the Scream", and for start their song "Sayonara Birthday". The catch is that there are 3 very good male musicians (drums, bass and guitar) and 4 female vocals. Two of them ("clean section") singing with cleans...nice, but other 2 are "death metal section", where one of the girl singing with high pitch scream, and the other one with deep growls! Sounds crazy, and IT IS crazy, but in some strange way fascinating, too! Japanese bands isn't scared to try some funny mixture of genres, and this is interesting... There is a number of great and interesting bands, all over the world, and this is wonderful thing!
Nemophila are good, but Lovebites are pretty clearly ahead of them in terms of musicianship I would say. The Judgement Day tracks that have been revealed only make it clear.
If all Nemophila songs sounded like this, they'd be my favorite band. Now, they are quite diverse in style so everyone can find something that suits them, but the downside (to me at least) is that a large part of their discography I'm so so about. It's alright, it just doesn't deliver the knock out punch that songs like Dissension or Oiran does.
David(top left guy)here, I wasn’t confused, those two guys are tougher critics then myself and Josh(he missed this reaction). Both songs were great to us!
@@metalheadsjourney Yeah, it was the bushy beard dude whose only complaint about "Seize the Fate" was not enough harsh vocals by Mayu. "Good shit" is an exact quote, now he says "skeptical". He must have been thinking about Babymetal.
Guys.. Where is the 4th member of your crew?? He is missing all the good stuff... Do Revive MV Next - th-cam.com/video/zmRmVc4u18w/w-d-xo.html Same style but better with an awesome location.. Everyone has their own taste, which is a good thing. Life would be boring without a little discussion. Personally, like the more feminine, or higher pitch scream. Perhaps I’m just used to it from other women in my past LOL. I’m less of a fan of women that try to emulate the male voice. Just my two cents and only an opinion.

Awesome! gotta check out Oiran live or Adabana next!
Nothing kicks a song open like some sweet dual-sweep picking followed by chug riffs!😄💪🏻🤘🏻
Awesome reaction guys! If you want to see them live check out the live performance of Oiran from the Naon Yaon festival 🤘😊🤘

Lot of incredible songs to choose. Seize the fate, Style, Revive, Raitei, Fighter, Adabana, Hypnosis. Nemophila are incredible.
Guys, they do cover songs IRON MAIDEN, MOTLEY CRUE, KISS, AC/DC, LINKIN PARK...
《dissension》is amazing! Please check out《adabana》next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
RAITEI, mv. Got me hooked from the first listen!!🔥
Yes, they are touring soon. I'm going.
Their song "Revive" or "Adabana" next...

I mean, Scandal are probably still the number one female band from Japan, not Band-Maid when popularity and especially influence are concerned.

Musically great, screaming vocals in general are not my bag baby !!!

What bad thing can you say about Nemophila? Maybe they're not your favorite. There is no legit criticism of this band.

@@cepho8349 good point. But yes. The Winklevoss twins had a band. Patrick Boyle talked about it in his video about their scam.
