    I think I found your fossicking channel in 2016 when I was researching fossicking and trying it out for myself, I was pleasantly surprised when researching and learning about succulents I found you had a channel about that too that I had no idea about! Love your stuff Liz I could listen to you talk about crystals and plants for hours!

    Small-mouthed pots are beautiful, but replanting succulents is difficult.
    Watching you take out succulents with chopsticks very slowly, I thought you were very calm.
    Watching your video, I think beginners will find out later that pots with small openings are a problem.
    The flowerpots in your video are unique and beautiful.
    I really enjoyed seeing the many roots in the flowerpot.
    Usually, if you look at the videos on other overseas channels, few people put granite as a drainage layer, but in Korea, most succulents are repotted like that. So your video is more friendly.

    Hey Liz!! Loved the video! Question, do you think it’s a good idea for a succulent to live in the same 2 in pot forever? I have this really cute 2in pot (similar to the ones in the video) that I want this succulent to grow mature in. After watching your Blue bird video, I have positively Identified it! I guess every year or so I could change out the soil and trim the roots back? I like the small, compact, and mature look on Echeverias. Could this method be unhealthy for the succulents? Thanks!!

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is unhealthy but they'll look beautiful.
      I grow mainly to propagate for my garden. Restricting the nutrients in the soil(advance soil mix)/peat moss, is what made the Blue Bird in my other videos color up. But in saying that, I also have a blue bird in my Master Soil mix that put out a baby. This is the only blue bird I have so far that produced a baby w/o being headchopped.

      @@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Hi thanks for your detailed response!! I guess for every repot I’ll just provide fresh soil for the plant. I tried shortening roots for other plants in bigger pots (roots literally reaching through the drainage hole) and they have successfully survived! Hopefully all goes well with the smaller pots. As for pups, I guess they aren’t really what I’m going for BUT they are always welcome! Thanks again for responding! ❤️

    Hi lizk
    I have lot of succulent I put them out side in summer and inside for fall winter so you you think I water them in winter?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only water in winter when the soil is dry. If kept inside where the temperature is warm, you can water more often or when you think the plant needs watering.

    Do you write down what you plant and when? I forget the names of the plants as soon as I turn around. As for remembering when I repotted them… no idea! I know I hadn’t repotted anything since the fires in 2019-20, but no clue how long before then! And I love the look of clumps, but whenever I repotted, I make a mixed pot. I try so hard to stop myself from doing that, but I pay no attention to myself! Ugh, the dramas of being a weirdo! What was your reason for using the advanced soil mix rather than your master soil mix?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually have a label hidden somewhere. My master mix holds more moisture and if used in ceramic pots that can't breath will have a higher chance of root rot.

      They don't like too much water. The rule with them is to water deeply but rarely. They're dormant when temperature is too hot for you, it's also too hot for them so don't water in summer. Since I grow mine outdoors....I only water when the soil dries up in Autumn.
