I REALLY love the alternate story this MV tells! In this version of Pacific Rim, the Jeager Program got its funding cut, with the Jeagers suddenly becoming far less effective when the Kaijus learned to target the Jeager's heads to cripple them, they were only given enough money for 8 months of continuous operation, no questions asked. Then Leatherback and Otachi invade Hong Kong, with Stryker Eureka moving to intercept the beasts on its own, intending to hold the fiends back long enough for the other Jeagers to mobilize and for the citizens of Hong Kong to get to safety, but is disabled by an EMP charge. Otachi and Leatherback then invade the city, but Leatherback gets the idea to stand watch over Striker, and did nothing until he detected through his hivemind that Otachi was in trouble, she had encountered another Jeager and was losing in her battle against Gypsy Danger. Leatherback moved onto land to confront the once defeated Jeager and though distracted Gypsy Danger from finishing the Kaiju off, perished attempting to defeat the other Jeager, prompting Otachi to abandon her mission od kidnapping Newt and flee to the seas. However, before she was home free, Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha airdrop into the ocean and intercept the Kaiju, beating her to death and dragging the monster's body ashore. And shortly after Striker Eureka reactivates and pursues Slattern to the Breach, where he cuts the beast to ribbons.
